Hi!My name is Martin Distrajo,I'm from PHILIPPINES and I'm 13 year old grade 8 student.I watched your videos because it's our 1st Periodic Day this afternoon so that I know how to factor because I'm so poor in Math and I'm only interested in English,Filipino and Geography subjects.Thank you because I learned too much in your videos and your better than my teacher in Math because I was confusing while she explaining and I expect that I'll get high score in 1st Periodic Test because my teachers said that the 1 who have a score of 20 below 0 will give floor wax and because our test in Math is out of 40 tests.THANK YOU AND LOVE YOU.👍💗👍

Just a quick question, for certain questions you simply conclude that the final trinomial should never be considered for factorization (as it is prime), while for others you take the time to check to see if they are further factorable? Simply put, is the resulting final trinomial portion of the answer always prime by nature.. or do you have to check at all times to confirm? Thank you in advance, great videos btw!
@FortBendTutoring
@FortBendTutoring 7 жыл бұрын
+Alex Paralovo You are correct. The quadratic trinomial factor is always prime if you have already factored the GCF (greatest common factor) before factoring the sum/difference of cubes.

Is the sum of two cubes the same as difference of two cubes?
@FortBendTutoring
@FortBendTutoring 2 жыл бұрын
No, the factoring patterns are different.
@uiticus
@uiticus 8 жыл бұрын
In the sum of cubes , shouldn't all the factors have a positive sign? Should it not therefore be: (a^2+ab+b^2)? You have a negative ab in the second expression/\. Should it not be a positive ab?
@FortBendTutoring
@FortBendTutoring 8 жыл бұрын
No, the factorization in the video is correct. If you use your version, the product will not equal the original. You can verify the pattern used in the video in any math textbook or online reference.
@uiticus
@uiticus 8 жыл бұрын
Okay, thank you.
@uiticus
@uiticus 8 жыл бұрын
I am still confused. When I distributed the factors for the sum of cubes, i get a final result of A cube + B cube, or A^3 +B^3. But A cube + B cube is not the same as the quantity (A + B)^3. If A is 2 and B is 3 then 2 cube + 3 cube yield 35. But the quantity (2 + 3) cubed yields 125..
@FortBendTutoring
@FortBendTutoring 8 жыл бұрын
+uiticus You're correct. The expressions A³ + B³ ≠ (A + B)³. A³ + B³ = (A + B)(A² - AB + B²). It's not supposed to be equivalent to anything else.
