This song uses machines functioning as most of if not all the instruments, starting with the slow start of beeps and boops and eventually the sound of what is presumably inserters and assemblers, and the name of this song is "Solar Intervention". I think this song is a factory relying on solar panels waking up during a sun rise

Everytime this plays in game it always struck me how lonely this game feels, we're the only human in the entire planets and accompanying us is the low hum of machines It's sad, but the loneliness is eerily soothing

This entire 'lone survival' motiff of the game is clearly inspired by Minecraft.
@brdplaysgames2231

@@milanstevic8424 while I might agree that it is *similar* to minecraft, the feel is almost completely different. In minecraft, the lack of context makes the concept of loneliness almost explainable. Factorio makes it clear that you've crash landed on your desolate planet, and something about knowing there's people out there, yet nobody on an entire celestial body but you, just gives off a different feeling.
@milanstevic8424

@@TruXai I'm sorry but I know a lot about the history of games and gaming, and even many author's biographies, Factorio IS inspired by Minecraft, from the perspective of market-success as well as chronologically. obviously the level of inspiration is low enough so that the game doesn't resemble Minecraft selling points, it also might've been the case of Minecraft just being a pilot wave of the entire sea of expression waiting to happen. still my original remark holds. the sandbox quality per se has nothing to do with it, that's a quality that simply emerges from the same basic premise behind it. in other words, you cannot be inspired by Minecraft and make something that isn't a sandbox.

theres this... cosmic element to this track. at around the fifty second mark, i get this clear image of our terrible engineer whittling away at a pipe organ, commanding the drone armies. with every key is placed another drill, every foot pedal is another belt. a stop is pulled, a technology is unlocked, and the mechanical symphony swells larger and more complex. this song is his design, a twisted cathedral of oil and gears that will reach the stars with only time. the engineer is consumed as the planet he exploits.

I’d have so much iron I’d have to reroute my conveyour belt distribution and run three lines through the main bus... Just one more inserter. A splitter! I need to automate my splitter production. This is one of the most relaxed but cheery songs I have ever listened to. It's no doubt calm and quiet but it almost feels... playful? All the different machine noises are stopping and then appearing again, melody is constantly changing from one sound to the other, as there are long gaps in what you could call the loudest, most obvious motif of this song. Like the machines you built are playing with you. Also the sounds gradually introduce themselves, and the least powerful, quietest ones come in first, and the rest slowly appear, as if the sun was rising and the output of a solar farm was increasing with all the machines around gradually turning on. The peak in the amount of instruments is around the middle and after that they start quieting again. The instruments that remain in the end are not the ones that first got introduced, which is a nice touch.

A really unique song compared to the rest of it’s soundtrack, Daniel had probably a small epiphany while thinking of this one and absolutely loved it when it was finished. It has alot of creative elements, playing the game, hearing the song for the first time is very sure to surprise someone if they haven’t heard it already. “Whoa, this song is really cool, wtf?”. The sudden volume and increased tempo compared to the other pieces of music generally is unexpected, but presents welcomingly so by such a mysteriously entertaining beat. It has that “hook” effect while listening to it in the beginning, making you more investly interested in the song as it goes on. It then rewards your curiosity by giving the exact theme you’d want to make a factory engineering game more satisfying. Personally I had a hard time understanding mechanics of the game (especially trains jesus christ) but to learn and hear a song like this it’s totally worth it.

one of the good thing factorio brought with it self was its music, and the only weakness of the game was it's lack of enough content. anyway this music is amazing, thanks.

It's in the same music genre, both soundtracks are ambient, they play in the background instead of being engaging.

This probably should be called "solar introvertion". It'd be more giving feel of solitude, eerie and atmospheric

after a while, you will learn to appreciate the difference between the 'actual friends' and the 'social-setting acquaintances.' it's like Uranium-235 and Uranium-238, respectively. only 3% of the former.
