I played Buttons at school when I was 9 and there was a scene where I had to whistle and walk on stage, but I couldn't whistle so a teacher backstage whistled and I mimed it and a large part of the audience noticed the mime and started laughing, I never acted again : )

Confessions of an Ugly Step sister is an enjoyable film. It feels a lot like Ever After. Also, if you enjoyed Ella Enchanted: The Movie, reading the book might make you despise the movie (unless you can separate the two mediums in your head lol. 😄)

loved Cinderella since a child, but not any of those tragic Disney versions. thought Ever After was rad, actually! Drew Barrymore Angelica Houston were really good, i thought. i cringe when actors aren't consistent with accents, but they were both pretty good to me. Drew only faltered several words! awesome thing about this adaptation is She Saves Herself!! i love it

The music video for "Prince Charming" by Adam and the Ants is inspired by the story of Cinderella. Adam Ant is like the male version of Cinderella: working hard, dressed in rags. The Fairy Godmother magically transforms him into the Adam Ant we all know and love; sporting his frilly shirt/ French Revolution uniform with very 80's make up and war paint on his cheeks. Then at the ball there's an odd dance sequence that could never be described; folks are just gonna have to watch it.

I personally love the story of Cinderella and I must say I really appreciate the opera version by Rossini called La Cenerentola where no magic is needed and they change it to where instead of having a step mother, it’s a step father and two younger half sisters. In the end, she chooses to show mercy and compassion to them - offering her unconditional forgiveness. Which is extremely rare, even in and especially in modern society.
