When I was in “Victory Outreach” a place where the hopeless-addict can get discipled as they recover-12 month live in Victory Homes, I was mouthy, my tongue was my weapon. When I got in trouble(often), my discipline was to write word for word the entire book of James. & summarize what I learned. I discovered that I was awful in my flesh, that I needed Jesus to give me a new heart, &the Holy Spirit to put a clasp on my mouth. Every believer ought to pray this letter over themselves!

This is an outstanding case for sola fide purely in of itself, never mind the many other instances of sola fide being affirmed in the NT. Catholics are very good at picking out the odd verse from James 2 and using that as an attempt to mock protestantism, which unfortunately fools a lot of lay people, but this is an actual detailed, scholarly analysis which actively demonstrates it to teach the opposite.

I remember when the Lord started to open my eyes to this scripture.. the Bible is clear from the Old Testament to the New that it’s always been about FAITH.. I mean Ephesians 2:8-10 is abundantly clear about God’s mercy and grace and how we are saved. People see works and just run with that word, James is clear especially when he quoted Genesis 15:6.. If we are truly believers we will mature in our faith, when we are created in Christ we will do the things which he already called us to do, true faith will produce those things but people are missing the foundation which is based on FAITH. Jesus literally died on the cross. To make the gospel works based is saying Jesus death and resurrection wasn’t enough SMH. This verse is justification of the flesh we are carnal how else would faith save a brother if he isn’t physically seeing that faith come to life. Works can look great though exactly why Romans 4 said Abraham can boast in front of US but not GOD. Shalom brother amazing video.

And James 2 starts off about partiality lol, if I’m saved and claiming to have true faith but I’m reserving a spot for the rich man and tell the poor to kick rocks that’s a dead faith I mean the scripture is super clear. I’ll show I truly believe by my actions and how I treat others with the same love.

Unrelated, but have you ever made a video on the gospel of Mark? I understand that Mark was most likely writing down Peter's word's? What's the context behind the "longer ending" it was added later? It's said it aligns with other parts of the NT? I need help in understanding...

I'm confused. So James is saying if your faith is real, I'll see it in your works?
@TrueChristian24 күн бұрын
Yes but I wouldn’t say in that tone. He’s not challenging his readers to show their faith. He’s challenging his readers to recognize the difference between the double minded Christian and the faithful. Because a double minded Christian talks like one but lives like the world.
