I am Vietnamese and taxidermy is not popular in my country. However, I still want to try it myself. Could you share with me which liquid we can use to soak the specimen after skinning and how long it will take ? Thank u so much. ❤

Hey Ben, question. I'm going to be mounting a Pigeon soon, and I fleshed and washed the skin, and made the body. I accidentally made the body smaller than the carcass ..but I test fitted it in the skin and it seems to fit perfect. It is sort of significantly smaller in some areas than the original body..should i remake the form or Is this alright ? Also, I'm thinking of getting some of that moisture cream stuff you use to stop the head skin from drying out lol but you're sure it won't leak thru the skin and cause feathers to be greasy ? Lol

Hi Madelyn.. if the body is way too small you’d better make another one and take your time to match the carcass.. too small of a body will make your mount look deformed when fully dried. And yeah that moisturizer cream won’t leak through, just use a small brush, mix a small amount to soften it a bit then brush it on ( not excessively)
