The reason Zemo escaped so easily was because he could have escaped at any time...he chose not to...he was waiting for the avengers to make this approach. It's a massive setup.

I LOVE how they are building towards walkers sadistic nature. In the comic books, Walker is the exact opposite of Captain America, where Steve is humble and kind hearted, Walker is egotistical and self centered, and in the comics he goes absolutely ballistic on his enemies, taking it way to far and even having a lust for blood. Can’t wait to see how his character plays out!

This really shows how influential and powerful Wakanda is. In just HOURS after Zemo is out of prison Wakanda not only found out but they tracked them, which is probably why Zemo himself even tho he had many chances to escape he didn't bc he knew they would come for him for murdering their king

oh it's certainly within possibility that Zemo IS more or less essentially "helping" them to a tolerable degree without necessarily having a specific severely negative outcome for them he's driving toward, but he is at the very least 10000000000% DEFINITELY all over making sure doing all that he is right now will entirely service some goal of his own lol

This is all part of Zemo's plan. He's helping himself, that all. Remember he mentioned that Sharon is in Madripoor because they don't extradite criminals. Same reason Zemo is there.

Personal take on them using the Filipino rap, Amatz, to introduce Madripoor: This was a heavily politicised drug related song in our country. Members of the govt wanted to take this song down for "influencing" people to take drugs. Which a lot did not agree about as they were bigger issues than just a song- the actual PH govt's war on drugs which has lead to a lot of ordinary Filipino's deaths. The lyrics they played roughly translate to "I'm so high. It's natural, no chemicals". As a Filipino, I thought that was a brilliant move for Marvel to put that in that specific moment.

Re: the languages. Bucky speaks Russian (obvs) and German as well as Romanian. In Civil War there was an announcement in German at the airport and he translated it for everyone. He also mentioned the Winter Soldiers could speak 30 languages in the same film. I'd assume he was among that number.

Based on Bucky's story in the Civil War film about the other Winter Soldiers speaking at least 30 languages, I'm guessing he does too.

Did you notice that Lamar purposely didn’t give Walker a direct translation from the German business owner? I think Lemar knows Walker is egotistical, violent and overly aggressive ands frowns upon these negative traits and is trying to avoid setting him off. I believe Lemar is aware and bothered by the fact that Walker is not fulfilling the role of Captain America especially when he later keeps telling Walker that his methods aren’t working.

I appreciate how they fixed Zemo to be more accurate to his comic counterpart. As much as I liked him the movie a lot of his backstory didn't fit what I knew of him in the comics.

The song that played when they entered the club in Madripoor is "Amatz" by Shanti Dope, a rapper from the Philippines. Interestingly enough, the chorus has a line that says "Sobrang natural, walang halong kemikal" which translates to "extremely natural, no mixed in chemicals" which is great considering the super soldier serum plays a big part in the series

I've long supported the idea that Erskine knew of Wakanda. He may have gotten a black panther herb for his formula but kept it secret to protect Wakanda. Hence why no could repeat it. Aslo explain why Cap and BP appear to have similar speed and strength.

Erskine couldn’t have gotten anything from Wakanda. He’d have to have permission, and the way the kings of Wakanda were, I doubt they’d give him the secret to their powers. The herb is as precious as the vibranium. There’s no way they’d give that secret out.

There’s no way they’d kill Zemo. Especially after this episode. I’m pretty sure his popularity has skyrocketed. Besides, he’s a foil for both Bucky and BP. He’s basically taken on the role of Klaw from the comics (who was the one who killed T’Challa’s father). I think Zemo is sticking around. MCU needs compelling villains, and Zemo is hella interesting.
