Enjoyed your video! I’m using the last piece of ancient fabric in my little stash, it’s probably 30 years old, it’s a cotton twill, bottle green, to make a straight skirt to go with a gold coloured french terry top I made (itchtostitch pattern). I’m hoping the matching thread and zip (also 30 years old) will be ok, but i’ll use with some scraps to check first. I love wool crepe too. Enjoy wearing your boots!

That'll be such a nice color combination for Fall, Jan! Vintage zippers are so nice when they're in good condition. I love all the smaller size metal teeth you can find in them. That'll be a fun sew!

The mustard aqua combination works so well with your skin tone. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with the corduroy. I saw a retro-cool part of pants or mini skirt and jacket combo.

Oh man, if I only had enough of that corduroy to make a retro jacket! It was pricey, so I'll have to think carefully about that one. Thank you! Aqua is my favorite of all time, and I'm enjoying adding a little mustard into the mix.

I like wool and wool blends the best. I didn't think about crepe being a warm weather fabric. I always like info. on fabric types. Having to purchase online it helps to clarify what I am actually purchasing. FYI, I do not find swatches worth the cost. By the time I get the swatch the fabric is often sold out.

I think I had in my brain to talk about wool crepe and I forgot, but yes, wool crepe is nice!! That is a downside to swatches--I try to limit them to ones I get so I can learn about fabric types and if it's going to be a big expensive purchase otherwise.

It's so pretty in that part of the world Beverley--I got close to that last year when we visited P.E.I., Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick. That's what our hostess said too--that summer was nice, but winter was for the hardy! I'm sure your quilts help with that! Glad you learned something!

Hi Elizabeth! Great Fabrics, can we go shopping on your stash? LOL! I also like working with acrylic knits for sweaters and you just reminded me that I have a lovely one in my stash I purchased last year that I would love to work on soon!

Thank you so much Elizabeth, those fabrics are stunning, and I really really love 💖 the one you have on. I’m going to be sewing a skirt, in a similar colour, so hopefully that’ll be awesome. xxx Mags

Beautiful fabrics Elizabeth! I love that twist-front Burda dress you made 👌🏻. I Ike sweater knits this time of year.its starting to feel like Fall here in NS, but today we had t-shirt weather 😎. I've been liking the cotton knits more lately too. Also, stretch printed velvet. A little tricky to sew, but they're so beautiful! I need to scout out my local Fabricville this weekend since we have a 50% off "friends & family" event.

Thanks Rikki! It's been one of my favorite dresses for sure. Yes to the stretch velvet--how nice to find prints too! Your Fabricville was so nice! My little girl has so loved the coat from the chenille I bought there--she keeps eyeing it ready to wear it this season!

That was awesome you wrote back to me awe yes soooo close to Newfoundland you need a month to visit Newfoundland you just can not do it one one week i haven’t seen all of Newfound but a good bit i have seen. Just wondering if you can do a quilt as you go without sashing with small squares don’t have to do a big quilt i have started one with string quilting i have a few more blocks to do i am home a lot so i get bored lol i do knit and crochet and knitting a fisherman knit sweater cardigan i have a disability call Turner syndrome but doing ok no worries. Love you tutorials but i won’t be able to sew like you you are a fantastic sewer from Newfoundland Canada

Yes, I'd love to go back! I've done a couple quilts, but I am definitely not a quilter. Your sweater sounds like it will be so nice in your weather!!

I Love the first Plaid you showed and I was wondering what would you use to make a men’s Peacoat? My fiancé wants one and I got a great pattern from Thread Theory and I’m not sure what to use. xx

Definitely go for a wool coating fabric. Melton is so so pretty for coats, and it has a great weight for menswear.
