After leaving Pahrump, Nevada, we made our way to Joshua Tree South Dispersed Camping about 1 hour east of Palm Springs. We're in love with everything about this location - the proximity to the park, the ease at which you find yourself back amongst civilization, the endless outdoor activities a stones throw away, and the epic sunsets that bless us with their presence almost daily.
This is easily our favorite National Park so far. As the sun descends behind the rugged horizon of Joshua Tree National Park, a breathtaking spectacle unfolds in the vast desert sky. The sunsets at this enchanting destination transform the arid landscape into a canvas of vibrant hues, casting a warm, golden glow upon the iconic Joshua trees and distinctive rock formations.
Among all this beauty, there is still the constant threat of danger. Enhance this and be sure to get your wife's pulse racing by bouldering and slipping along the rocks at the Hall of Horrors - as Jason did. End the day with the stunning expanse overlooking the Coachella Valley at Key's Point - one of the highest points in the park. Be sure to bring your camera, since mother nature will grace you with unmatched beauty.
Jason and Emma (The Roaming Russells) are Full Time, RV travelers - home base is Salem, OR. Along with our two cats, Steg and Little Foot, we're slowly cruising our way around the country. We exclusively boondock/dry camp and enjoy exploring the great outdoors. We especially enjoy hiking, riding our bikes and paddling on our SUPs. Stay tuned for more from The Roaming Russells!
