Bought the T5 after looking through your reviews. It arrived today, impressed with the build quality of the knife and sheath. Looking forward to giving it a whirl as a camp knife. Anyway, thank you to your 3 year younger self for the review. I hope contemporary Pete is enjoying life!

Niolox/Sb1 is also one of the toughest stainless steels. Also it has a finer grain than other stainless steels and is very stain resistant. The information is from Achim Wirtz, the guy who invented it.

This is an Awesome Frickin Blade , especially for the Price , I paid $146.00 for mine last week (10/9/22) . I also just bought a Cold Steel SRK with CMP-3V on sale for $109 , but regular price is $199 and even at that price , it Blows the Faulkniven S1 Away , IMO .....👍🖖

I saw this knife here and liked it so much I bought both the satin and black versions. What a good-looking grind, Moletta is a great designer and Lionsteel did him proud with their build quality. Nice video and review, thank you!

I still like the slim line of the Fallkniven sheath (made possible in part by the lower blade profile), looks like it would pack well.

I'm not much of a fixed blade guy, but Molletta's designs really speak to me. I love my G10 TRE, and I may end up nabbing this fixed blade because it is gorgeous in my opinion and it's always good to have a fixed blade for outdoors stuff.

Thanks for the review Pete. Looks like a real competitor to the Fallkniven. Will be interesting to see how the Niolox steel holds up in the cut test.

The T5 for the price GIVE YOU A LOT OF KNIFE; it is a very good one. If compared with the F1, wins hands down... The steel is superior to VG10 on edge retention and do not chip at all. The handle is just fantastic, the ergo is amazing (CNC MACHINED from a whole piece of Micarta); there is no comparison with the OVERPRICED F1 It is one STRONG STRONG STRONG knife... Ahh right... The sheath... First class sheath. Mr. Fallkniven should be ashamed of him self (raping everyone off...).

Lionsteel has become my new favorite knife company. I love bark river and I have always wanted to pull the trigger on a falkniven, but lately they have become to pricey. It's amazing what lionsteel offers for much less and their fit and finish is as good as TRC. I own three lionsteels at the moment and I have two more on the way.

Love the lionsteel fixed knives. Don't have the t5, just yet 😉 that will probably be my next lionsteel. Would love a rope test of the niolox and the sleipner. Your channel are like a fresh wind in the KZfaq knife world. Big ups 👍🏻

It is good knife, and you will not regret the buy at all. I found it just after the release months ago and fell in love; the first "Molletta design" that i like (or buy). Usually they are "to heavy for my taste" but Molletta nailed this one; it is AT THE VERGE TO BE OVERBUILD... Give you a great sense of STURDINESS. Niolox get CRAZY SHARP, than keep the edge well, and it is easy to re-sharp; a great "field steel", it is very well balanced... The ergo fit me perfectly (OFC you have to try it, may be not good for everyone). The sheath is first quality too, and the MOLLE attachment can come handy. If compared with the F1 Fallkniven (any version); the T5 win hands down (and the F1 look like a rip off BIG TIME).

Thanks for the review! I'm really curious to see how it holds up to hard use. D2 hasn't fared well in larger blades, especially when subjected to impact cuts. I wonder if Niolox is less prone to chipping under those conditions.

Where abouts are you seeing the Fallkniven price increase? DBK were talking about it and they look higher in some stores in Europe, but the prices in the US (I only checked BladeHQ and KnifeCenter) look the same. Canadian prices also look more or less the same. Aus prices on Fallknivens were already way higher than the US, so I can't tell if they've gone up recently or they're just at the normal crazy mark-up.

subroc all the Aussie ebay listings for S1s jumped $60 aud in the last two months - I remember because I was checking them pretty regularly in march as I was tossing up getting one for someone. I think it would be best to buy US stock at the moment. I think as people renew their inventory they are adding the increase

Hm, you're probably right. Maybe the US stores are just selling off their remaining stock at the old prices. One things for sure, if anyone was planning on buying a Fallkniven, get one now from the US before the prices go up.

Fallkniven will price themselves out of the market at this rate, the same way Al Mar has done. Now we have Al Mar "designs" appearing as shitty $30 Kershaw assisted framelock folders..

Well, they are made in Japan, so not in the third world wages wise. And Fallkniven are in Sweden, one of the highest taxed populations in the world. Add all that together, and you are not going to be getting it for free. That said, it's quite hard to explain away the massive price rises that have been seen. I have two Fallkniven and two Al Mar.

Hi sir, the Fallkniven Cie out-source from Japan. Their goals is to shovel money. At first they were doing something of a new product for their own market, meaning cold climate countries. That was the purpose of their plastic sheath as well as handle designs. Since then the market has evolved, and in my humble opinion they are'nt anymore at the top especially considering the price they charge as well as the fact that those knives are'nt produced in Sweden. Long story short, not good enough for the price. Sheers

According to a review in German that i watched recently the grind is very thick behind the edge and he hated it becaus of it... who do i belive now lol ?

Finest it IS a bit thick behind then edge - I notice that in my cut test on the rope. I'll leave it as is until I take it in field, and see how it fares

Not even comparable in my opinion. Fallkniven has a horrid sheath and cheap rubber handles that don't hold up all for way more than it's worth. So many better knives and companies to be comparable and actually worth a purchase.

Fractal Universe I hear ya, they are simply charging too much now. The A1 and F1 are still pretty compelling in their roles (before price is considered) but the difference here is crazy.

I agree with this...I actually really really like the F1 blade profile and stuff but the barely better than Mora quality sheaths and the zytel crap handles drive me nuts. Also the shape of the handles, it's like all of them were made for people with ultra short fingers. Just no swell to them.

You are clearly biased with your own preference of the esthetics on the knifes. How about feathering, carving, chopping, or any of that. The lionsteel: "Feels impressive" "Looks impressive" How is this a comparison? You clearly just have a fancy on the lionsteel. And who are these "people" that are bothered with Fallkniven? 😂 Funny to watch this!

Fallkniven's blade shape still wins as a survival (bush craft +tactical) knife. Better for stabbing on the tactical side of the equation. If my life depended on stabbing an attacker with that Lionsteel, the guy better be shirtless or I'm dead.
