In our ski adventure at Faloria above Cortina d'Ampezzo, we felt like we were in a scene from one of those classic James Bond movies set in this stunning Dolomite location. However, as the saying goes, not everything always goes as planned, right? Up until now, you've enjoyed our videos set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Dolomites, our beloved pale mountains, bathed in sunlight. Hello Igor, I was in Cortina for the first two weeks of February and I spent a lot of my time skiing Faloria, particularly in the afternoons. There was always less people than at Tofane, so no lift queues and the pistes did not get as cut up. Also, because it faces North, the snow was always firmer there in the afternoon. The views up there are amazing when the weather is clear. I did the same as you, I would walk from the town centre to the Faloria cable car rather than wait for half an hour sitting in the shuttle bus. I also felt a bit out of place walking through town with my skis.😊

Hi Gary, yes Faloria is well known for better skiing in March than the Tofane. It's also stays usually open much longer than other resorts during spring because better snow conditions. Happy that we were not the only ones feeling akward walking among all those VIP furrs through Cortina 😂

Che gran voglia di tornare a sciare che mi fate venire! Con la neve caduta in questi giorni immagino vi dia più serenità per l'ultima parte della stagione invernale. Io l'alta badia non la cambio per nessun altro posto. Molto cara ma per me è il top.😊

Gli ultimi 3 anni il fine stagione é stato sempre piú spettacolare che l'inizio stagione. Questa tendenza inizia a piacerci in quanto abbiamo molto piú tempo per sciare 😉

Siamo entrati nel classico periodo con una perturbazione ormai ogni settimana ... vediamo se tiene di nuovo fino a fine aprile dove gli impianti sono giá chiusi da tempo 😂

@@UstariaPosta Ciao Igor, secondo la tua esperienza da grande Ladino, viste le condizioni di innevamento e sperando in una stagionalità favorevole gli impianti resteranno aperti fino a metà aprile? Consulta la sfera di cristallo. 😁💪

La risposta é Nì. Perché se i consorzi hanno giá dichiarato che il 7 aprile é l'ultimo giorno allora non cambiano idea anche se la situazione neve lo permette. Semplicemente molti hanno giá pianificato i lavori di revisione degli impianti che devono essere poi pronti a giugno per l'apertura della stagione estiva. I classici che rimarranno aperti fino al 25 aprile saranno come sempre alcuni impianti al Plan de Corones.

L'importante è una buona visibilità sulle piste. Però adesso è d'obbligo un ritorno con cielo sereno. Che neve ragazzi. Si è questo il Paradiso. (sono d'accordo con te sul discorso pista bob e olimpiadi). Un saluto, aspetto prossimo video. 👌👍👋👌👍👋👌👍👋

Hallo Ihr vier, Wir sind am Freitag aus La Villa in die Heimat zurück gekehrt und wollten am Donnerstag dieser Woche über Armentarola und Lagazoi nach Cortina. Nice and as usual fun to watch the whole family on the snow. It gives me some hope that there will be reasonable snow conditions around Cortina at the beginning of April. As far as the views are concerned I have Monte Cristallo on the desktop of my PC and the view from the Faloria cable car on my mobile from my Covid winter in Cortina in January 2020.

I am thinking about staying at Alta Badia (Ustaria Posta?) where I should arrive on the 2nd or 3rd of April which should give me 3-4 days of local skiing. I could then drive to Arabba which should be opened a bit longer. Cortina which I know quite well would be my fall back option. @@UstariaPosta

@@UstariaPosta It's a pity that you are closing down for the last week of the season but I can fully understand that you want some time off for family skiing. Maybe I will bump into you on the slopes to say hello. Since we live in Australia and my wife no longer skis she prefers visiting EU in spring or summer. Therefore late season skiing is a less than ideal compromise from my point of view. In 2022 I ended up skiing in May on Hintertux in terrible weather and on poor snow 😒. Could you recommend a convenient place to stay in Alta for the week beginning 3/04?

Per me,il vostro piu' bel video della stagione. Primo,perche' tutta la famiglia e' riunita;Secondo perche' io a Cortina ci ho vissuto 10 anni,dal 1963 al 1973 e quelle piste le conosco come le mie tasche. poi,quello che dici a proposito degli impianti vostri e delle piste di Cortina e' VERISSIMO. Ma con tutti i soldi che fanno ogni anno,e' cosi' difficile mettersi alla pari con le altre localita'? E dopo i Mondiali di due anni fa,gia' hanno fatto qualche cosa,ma sempre troppo poco. Comunque,bravi e belli(VOI). E quanta neve a Marzo. Un abbraccio forte a tutti voi.🤗🥰

Paolo é tutto molto semplice. Guarda chi sono i proprietari degli impianti di risalita. Finché é gente del posto, si fa tutto perché siano sempre al top e rinnovati in quanto il ritorno rimane in loco. Quando invece la proprietà é altrove allora si cerca solo di incassare, aspettare che diventino obsoleti e poi sperare in qualche evento (Mondiali? Olimpiadi?) per ottenere sovvenzioni statali per la costruzione di nuovi.

I use mostly only the GoPro Mouth Mount that I keep most of the time in my hand. And when I need urgently to do something with my hands I can put it quickly in my mouth and continue to film.

Hy. Wusst übrigens gar nicht, daß deine Schwester in der Jimmy Hütte ist......🤩. Haben wir bei Sport Pescosta gehört. .....Muss nächszes Jahr auch mal nach Cortina rüber... Das Projekt mit der Bobbahn ist aber angeblich eh schon gestorben...... Man will ja die Bewerbe in Innsbruck fahren.... haben wir gehört....

Innanzitutto grazie per i video che ci fai vedere, semplici ma veri. Un suggerimento che avrei, dato che sei un blogger, e' indossare un casco, dare il buon esempio oltre ad essere una buona cosa, in questo caso, sarebbe anche tuo dovere, grazie ancora

Ti ringrazio del consiglio e per la tua preoccupazione, ma ho scelto di non indossare il casco 😉. Il motivo, come ho già spiegato in molti altri commenti, è sempre lo stesso: il casco inibisce uno dei sensi più importanti del nostro corpo: l'udito. Non voglio entrare nei dettagli, ma se fai guidare una macchina a 50 km/h da un amico, mettendo fuori la testa con un semplice berretto e poi facendo lo stesso con un casco, noterai subito la differenza. Con il casco, ti sentirai sicuramente più protetto. Ora, immagina la stessa situazione su una pista da sci, dove l'80% delle persone a malapena sa sciare. Con un casco, tendono a superare la loro capacità di controllare gli sci e di fermarsi in tempo, aumentando il rischio di incidenti. Detto questo, voglio sottolineare e precisare che la decisione di indossare o meno il casco deve essere presa con piena consapevolezza dei rischi associati. Purtroppo, noto che la situazione sta peggiorando, poiché molte aziende hanno iniziato a vendere caschi con auricolari integrati per ascoltare musica o fare telefonate. Personalmente, ritengo che questa tipologia di casco dovrebbe essere vietata immediatamente. L'introduzione di tali dispositivi aumenta il rischio di distrazione, potenzialmente mettendo a repentaglio la sicurezza dell'utente e quella degli altri. La sicurezza dovrebbe sempre avere la priorità, e qualsiasi elemento che possa comprometterla, specialmente in situazioni dove l'attenzione è cruciale, dovrebbe essere attentamente valutato.

@@TheRockerxx69 Ehrlich gesagt hatte ich nie Problemen mit keinen Marken von Skiern. Ich bin seit die Kinder klein warne immer nur (auch für Piste) mit Ski Touren skier gefahren weil die einfach komotter sind und viel leichter zum tragen. Und das machte viel aus wenn die Kinder klein waren und Eltern alles tragen mussten 😂😂😂😂

@@UstariaPosta Nach meinem Wissen, das ich auch in früheren Zeiten, den 80er Jahren, geäußert habe, wollte ich schon immer einen Ski mit breiter Spitze und breiter Mitte haben, am Ende kamen sie endlich! Vielleicht hätte ich als Designer bei Atomic arbeiten sollen. Wie auch immer, mit meiner Skifahrweise und meiner kräftigen Statur liebe ich einen nicht zu kurzen, gut gleitenden Ski, ich würde sagen, im Stil eines Riesenslalom-Rennski, leicht breit in der Mitte, sicherlich am Steg. Damit kann man auch kurze Kurven fahren. Ich hatte einen Slalom-Rennski von HEAD, und es war eine Tragödie, überhaupt nicht geeignet. Auch sehr breite Skier für frischen Schnee sind großartig, aber wenn du auf präparierten oder vereisten Pisten unterwegs bist, sind sie eine Tragödie. Ich liebe nicht Touring skis !!!! ahhahahahahahaha

La Forcella Staunies io ho fatto in tempo a sciare là, c'erano le reti trasversali perche ogni tanto qualcuno scivolava da cima a fondo. Mi spiace dire che purtroppo Cortina con e dopo le Olimpiadi 2026 non sara piu la stessa Perla delle Dolomiti ma una accozzaglia di cemento e asfalto, di ricchi utenti mordi e fuggi, business commerciale compresa una certa inutile pista di bob che è costata la vita a tanti Larici secolari. E poi tanti soldi sprecati . A gennaio 2026 scieranno sull'erba vedrai

Rozumiem Wasze obawy. Mam nadzieję, że nie będzie tak źle i Cortina przeżyje. Czekam na Olimpiadę w 2026 z niecierpliwością. To będzie dobra zmiana po Pjongjang, a przede wszystkim po Pekinie. Atmosfera w Cortina i w całym Południowym Tyrolu na pewno będzie wspaniała.
