This is the story of a family man turned family murderer. Chris himself tells the first part of the story. Then, we hear from his family, colleagues and friends, who have tried to make sense of what happened. You know someone until you don't know someone.

@MissyKoneKo ... So let me get this straight. Shanann deserved for her children, as well as herself, to be BRUTALLY MURDERED because she wanted to save her marriage and her children from being the products of a broken home? Wow!! I guess than, from your point of veiw anyway, she knew he was a murderous piece of shit and chose to take her chances ... Either that or your friends with Nicole Kessinger
@yvonnehunter5634

He couldn't walk away and survive on his own, financially. He'd have to pay child support for 3 kids, probably alimony, the kids medical bills, etc ... He also said in one interview Shanann would have never allowed he and Nicole to live peacefully, so that wouldve caused too many problems in this spineless, jellyfish's life. Plus Nicole whined about the fact that Shanann was carrying a boy and she had wanted to give him his 1st son. This brainless wonder could see no other way out. He's an animal and his, equally culpable mistress, had him on a very short leash. He had no wiggle room to think for himself, even if he were able. His Mother Cindy, being the overbearing control freak that she is, never allowed him to think for himself. Without somebody telling him what to do, he'd have been reduced to brain dead moron, drooling into a cup in the corner

His parents are enablers. They see no wrong in their son & think he's the "perfect child" & don't understand that this is one of the reasons he's done this because he knew no one would believe he could do this because he was just "such a good guy" when in reality he's not even close to a good guy. Very far from it.

Little angel Bella knew... there is something about her in videos and pictures, almost like she had premonitions that something dark was near. I don't know... I guess it's easy to see things after the fact, but still, I feel that something moved her... I had premonitions as a small child. Before bad things happened like a pet's death, I ALWAYS had a literal gut feeling, my belly would twist and turn for days, once the dark event had happened, the feeling would be gone. I still get these and am 62...I hate it because it's always spot on. I knew something terrible was coming before 9/11 for example. Be safe!

@@abelis644 I know what you mean. I've never put my thoughts about it in any comment before, and yours is the only other one I've seen stating this. I do believe that Bella was a quiet & withdrawn child because she could sense something was very wrong. Perhaps Chris was actually horrible to Bella and Cece when Shanann was not around, maybe he was harsh & swore at them, and the "nice guy" act was just for everyone else. Maybe his dark, cold eyes scared her and no one else could see who ge really was. It makes sense that she was so protective over Cece, and why he killed (according to his story) Cece in front of Bella, to terrify her and show her that she was powerless to stop him hurting her or her beloved sister. Poor child.

Saying that Bella "was" going to begin kindergarten", "Bella was the nurturer, sensitive one", "Cece was like her Mother"...in both the front porch interview and the police interrogation. And his Mother still wants to defend him? It's also telling that not once, NOT ONE TIME has Ronnie or Cindy Watts shown any emotion in the death of their grandchildren. I saw the autopsy report on Bella. Unlike with Cece, whose body slipped easily into the 8 INCH round opening, Bella's legs went in, but her hips were wider than Cece's. Chris later told the male detective that he really had to shove on her shoulders hard to get her body to go in. This caused a "long, scraping bruise on her one butt cheek." The past few months with yet another woman being strangled to death, it brought Shan'ann & her little ones back to my mind. Sweet Gabby Petitio was strangled to death by another COWARD!! I had gone to college for a paralegal degree. I remember when we studied how a person was murdered. I also remember the teacher saying that strangulation is almost always a crime of passion! With the killer looking directly into the eyes of their victim! It can take up to 6-8 minutes. Chris had no scratch marks on his face, hands, arms, or chest. If that had been me, he would have had scratch marks in any place my nails could reach! At least Chris is where he belongs. Well, not where he should be, dead, but Shan'ann's family wanted a quick trial & couldn't send him to death row. Her family also had her last name, Rzudec, changed back to their last name! They also changed the last names of Bella, Cece, & Nico back to her maiden name! I also read that Shan'ann's little brother, Frankie Jr., had had one of her friends take in Dieter, the family Dad guns for him. (The police had asked a neighbor to take in Dieter because they did not want the K9 dog disrupted. Frankie brought the only living thing out of that house. Two very sad cases, Gabby, Shan'ann, Bella, Cece, & little Nico!

And if he were my son, I would tell him right there in court that he was dead to me. How his parents can forgive him… I just don’t get. Maybe if it were just Shanann… they weren’t her biggest fans (but STILL) but their defenseless grandchildren?? I would never speak to my son again.

You are so right. “THOSE kids” = distancing language (I only learned about distancing language yesterday). CW was already emotionally detached from his children, and in the news interviews he almost appeared happy, enjoying the attention. Honestly, if my children were missing I don’t know if I’d even be capable of making a tv appeal as I just know I’d be losing my mind. I guess the difference is he knew where his children were - because he put them there. Its absolutely repulsive the way his father speaks about Shannan being controlling etc. His entire family excusing his actions is repulsive. I read through all of shannans texts to her friends in the weeks and days leading to her death. She was a pregnant woman devastated because her husband all of a sudden became a different person with a change of heart out of no where (of course we now know why) and she spent her time trying to figure out what happened. She trusted him so much that she didn't even consider someone else. Imagine being pregnant when your husband said it was something he wanted to then him mentioning separation and showing no interest. How heartbreaking is that. The thought running through her mind as he strangled her. The comment he made in interrogation about you think you know a person until you don't know a person... (that is you sir) the audacity to taint her name by saying she killed her own children. This case shakes me to my absolute core... someone so completely normal to every single person around him and ever in his life is capable if this

Why are you dispising the Watts? They didn't do anything and are no more crazy than thr Ruczeks. Can't you see these two had serious mental problems and that there are no Saints here. Two very broken people found each other and it was the perfect storm. In my opinion, Chris Watts was abused by Shanann She used him, belittled him, ignored him ( except when she thought she was loosing her grip on him ) and treated him like dirt. Only a blind person couldn't see that. And he was so screwed up that he couldn't stand up for himself or leave so this went on festering for years and years . Until it didnt. It is also my opinion that she was not a great mom. She was an awful mom. Drugging them, praising CeCe above Bella, Babywise?? Have any of you read that theory? Pushing those expensive pills and patches on needy people.Complaining, making them sleep all those hours, She treated them as if they were her pets. And also her accessories. She could play victim and get loads of attention. Now. Did this excuse what he did? Of course not!!! He's clearly an idiot. Can barely form a thought of his own. Who could think such a thing????!!!! Who could DO such a thing????!!!!!!!And still not tell the whole truth about it to perhaps ease some pain for others? Give his family a break. They didn't do this. They are poor tortured souls as are Shananns family. Theyve lost everything but each other. Spare them that. And to them, he was their model son. Just as many of you are blind to Shananns faults, Chris' family are struggling to separate who they knew from who he's become. Even if NK was an Influencer or aided and abetted, he still did this. On his own. And to this day, all he cares about is his own image. The only true innocents were those two darling girls.

She wanted a lot and she wanted it now. My son and his wife were kind of like that. Had a condo then bought a house and rented out the condo. Had two sons, kept getting new cars, all kinds of tools and things. Went to Disney. Bought a camper. They both had good jobs and still went bankrupt. They lost the house a car a camper and got divorced. Too much pressure now days to keep up with the Joneses I believe. But none of this is a reason to kill your baby’s and wife. It's a good thing that initial officer didn't leave when hitting some road blocks. He stayed on scene, talked to everyone outside and then called Chris, and put an ambulance on standby before he even got into the house. Obviously the officer didn't know it at the time, but I strongly suspect that when the officer first called Chris basically asking hey, where's your wife, Chris knew it was the beginning of the end. He must have known it wouldn't be possible to go home and dispose of his wife's purse, phone and car like he was very likely planning to. It must have been crazy for Chris to see Nicole Atkinson keep showing the officers every detail about what was out of place in the house. Like HEY OFFICER see this phone? It's belongs to Shanann, and why is this out of place, and what about this over here? And the whole time Chris was acting like they're looking for lost car keys. By then Chris had to have known it was over for him.

There is a whole conversation missing from the day before Shannan came home. There were texts missing and there was a long phone convo. I believe she pressed him to make a decision. She didn’t like that he didn’t come back on her bday and didn’t like being second. She did not care for him leaving his pregnant wife. But I don’t think she thought he would go this far. The poor woman didn't deserve to be annihilated along with her precious daughters, but she was definitely no day at the beach as a wife. Always worrying about appearances on FB and I've seen like 4 different clips in 2 days where she says "He does everything I tell him" like she's talking about a cocker spaniel.

I wonder if Mrs Watts would have changed her tune if Chris had murdered her other grandchildren. I think her hatred for Shannan extended to the grandchildren too unfortunately.

I just caught that when Tammy was interrogating him and asked him when his co workers show up to 319 he said "they showed up afterwards" Weird how I just heard that.
