Meet the Hadleys, an adventure seeking family of five who have been living full time in their RV as they travel the country. Craig & Allison were faced with a life changing opportunity when Craig was let go from his company at the beginning of Covid. They joked about using their new found freedom to sell their house & travel full-time, which slowly turned into their reality. They've discovered how much they love the nomadic lifestyle, especially because it allows them to spend more quality time together as a family.
The Hadleys purchased their rig through Facebook Marketplace & have been slowly modifying their RV to their family's specific needs. Featured in this tour is a large dinette, a pullout-couch, swivel passenger & driver seats, a washer/dryer combo, tons of overhead cabinets, a kids' bunk room, & a main bedroom. Although still a work in progress for the Hadley family, they have found that life on the road is less about what you live in & more about where you are. Upcoming projects will include upgrading their refrigerator, removing the carpet, & potentially adding more storage. To follow along with all their adventures & upgrades, be sure to follow them on social media.

Getting rid of so much of the materialistic things in life is so liberating! We did it and now live in a boat. We will live this life until we are too old to sail and then transfer to Van life. Live your dreams, people. Life is short.

My brother and his wife have done the same thing in Florida. Now when a hurricane comes they pull up anchor and sail either north or south depending on the location of the storm and it’s been working great for them. I’m kinda doing the same thing right now except I bought a retired church bus in December, which originally was a retired greyhound bus and I’ve been remodeling it since and I’ve sold my little farm and have been getting rid of stuff for six months and come this Tuesday, I will be out of the house and in the bus full time and I’m so ready! Take care out there and be safe!!

@Don Pfeiffer It truly is the best way to live. Congratulations on your venture as well. You won't regret it one bit. Someone once told me, "You will never see a U-haul being pulled by a hearse," and it's always stuck with me. Live to live for experience, don't work just to buy things for life.

What boat is the best boat to live in???
@valtracy17
@valtracy17 Жыл бұрын
@Amy Smith It depends on what you can afford and how many people will be living with you. We have a 40-foot catamaran. Because I tend to get seasickness, I can't do a monohull. Catamarans get much less movement. They also have a lot more living space outside. Monohulls have a lot more storage, though. We looked at 10-12 boats before we found one. It isn't my first choice, but it is what we could afford.

Totally and completely happy and inspirational family...thank you. You got it into 35...not 45 feet and you have so many of my gotta haves...I started day with sadness of loosing a family friend at her time but still sad and came to this, I am so inspired...I adore how everyone gets their needed things..you made personal space and belongings a wondrous lesson. And a young teenage oldest girl gets her makeup as priority space makes me wet eyed...critical...not a mom but MAJOR auntie here.

In a few weeks I'll be finally getting an offroad caravan. In 2015 after buying a house, then living in it for two weeks... and having to clean and mow the lawn (an entire weekend of work) I was like "there has to be more to life because this sucks". That's when I looked into RVs. In the years to follow I bought a swag and started touring on long weekends and holidays. Loved it. That tipped me over into wanting the ute and caravan. So house is now rented out, I moved to another state during covid while saving and needing work (Melbourne was locked down completely and Brissy wasn't... so now a happy Queenslander) and I just can't wait. I can't wait to wake up to birds, to be away from small backyards and fences, constant road noise, loud neighbours, cars and insane traffic. I'll be free camping mostly all over the place using wiki camp and using starlink for work. I'm done with "regular society 1950s dream suburban living". It just doesn't work and is a miserable life (at least for me) - it would take me well over 1 hour to drive 30km (18 miles-ish) in traffic. I thought I was insane but it seems to be so popular now for people to be living this lifestyle full time without any end date in sight. Awesome RV btw. Not sure how you guys managed to get to the States or for how long but jealous... you'll be touring the Grand Canyon while I'm in the Simpson desert looking at sand with the occasional wild animal remains. Haha. Still can't wait though. 😊 thanks for the video.

We traveled in our 30 ft class C for a year and then lived in it another 2 years while we started building our own home on 5 acres. Loved the travels. Our 16 year old son who was against it at first, ended up loving it. And he still talks about it. 😊

Living in an RV is great. The one thing I would recommend to anyone buying an RV is to put rettroband tires on the front for safety. They can save your life.

We have "lived" in our house for 35 years and in that time, we have traveled and camped in a tent, popup trailer pulled behind a motorcycle, a larger one pulled by a car, a motorhome, a fifth wheel, and now a 22' tow behind. Remote work was not a possibility most of our lives, but in our 70s we have been to every state, Canada, Panama, Australia, and Europe. Half of that was before retirement. If going is your priority, one does not have to have a lot of money, just make travel a high priority in your bucket list.

For a 15 y/o she deserves her own space but I’m sure if she really didn’t like it she’d be vocal about it. Lol just seems open & the couch is small. Anyways seem like a sweet family & I hope they’ll look out for her once she’s an adult for her sacrifice lol I genuinely want to know what families do when all the kids become teenagers & get taller than when they first started.

Thier daughter seemed very happy and she may like having the whole front to herself at night....and kids are pretty flexable. THe kids are getting to basically camp every day, travel and still get a good education. They are seeing things many kids never get to see... small price to pay for all that. What kids need most are parents who are present and involved in their lives...whereever that may be. Looks like they have that.

Thank you so much for showing me what I feel like is a real attainable goal for us by next year in a "normal" RV with some upgrades but not all these other KZfaq channels with people have completely renovated them for crazy amounts. I'm 43 my husband's 49 and we have seven year old and A3 year old and I'm sick of the rat race that huge house and all the things. I'm ready for less things and more time and experiences.

I never understand why the parents need/want such a large luxurious 'private' space when the whole home is theirs, whereas the children have shelves in a hall way or sleep in the lounge. The master bedroom would work really well for the children, play areas etc. and the parents could sleep in the bunk room area, taking out bunks and put in a bed. They go to bed last so kids not passing through as they have to do to the kids

Have you considered giving the master bedroom to the kids or atleast the girl and use the sofa for your self. Or. It would be very comfortable for your kids if you have the boys the master bedroom, gave the bunk bed space to your daughter (put in a single bed and storage on top for her there) and then take the sofa for yourself 😊

sheesh these parents are super selfish. "I cannot downsize the bed" but the 2 boys stay in bunk beds and the girl in living room? It's one thing to be poor, but these people are abusing their children even if they have the money. Growing up a child NEEDS privacy and boundaries. The parents sure maintained theirs.

Abuse? People in the world today have a weird view of what a family is.....calling them selfish when they work full time jobs and still teach their children and give them a chance to see the country? Many kids are brats today because they are never expected to contribute in any way in thier family...many are raised to have everything handed to them and they have no respect for their parents.... maybe after coming from a very large home, this lifestyle has been better for all of them. You make very big judgements considering you dont even know this family.
