Family of bears cool off in California couple’s pool

A Southern California couple had a surprise visit from some bears who chose to cool off in their family pool.
Video captured by the owners shows a mother bear and her two cubs playing in the water.
The pair have since purchased an inflatable bear float in case they come back for more fun.

Many Californians understand we are in their home & go out of our way to make it possible for these amazing animals to coexist with us. Even though a Mountain Lion lived in the middle of our city, instead of fear Angelenos were saddened by the death of P-22 (Famous for his trail-cam pic in front of the Hollywood sign). We responded by advocating for a new wildlife bridge to help others move safely from The Simi Valley Hills to the Santa Monica Mountains. Wolves from outside California moved in & have established new packs of Cali Born Pups (Including in Sequoia Nat Park) in the last few years & most of us could not be happier. This is a big part of what makes this state so amazing. You might see Brad Pitt or You might see The Brad Pitt of Mountain Lions.

They should take steps to prevent bears from entering their yard, as their current approach risks harm to themselves, others, and the bears. Prioritizing social media views over safety is a concerning trend.

Yeah, that lesson is both bad for the bears and other humans in the future. It is better for both if bears learn it is better to avoid humans and their dwelling areas. It often leads to someone getting hurt or worse and the bears end up being put down. You do them more of a service to discourage them or call officials to remove them to another more remote area.

Would you really want bears to take over your backyard? Would you feel safe? Do you think it makes others safe for bears to be acclimated to buildings instead of sticking to the forest? I really hope these men don’t get mauled one day or worse. Bears may be cute, but they can be horrific as well.

No, you don’t just coexist with bears. That mama bear could easily maul or kill one of these men one day. This is dangerous.

@@PeaceIsYeshua Humans pose the greatest threat. We destroy their habitats and call them pests when they have nowhere else to go. Humans are the most dangerous species of all. Animals do not destroy the only planet we have. Polluting, contaminating, or causing war. God's precious creations deserve way better, and we definitely are not behaving compassionately toward other species.

If momma wanted in the house she could tear the door off the hinges. Bears understand weak points. Bears in Yosemite know what coolers are & will pop the doors off the hinges of a car to get at them. There are signs all over that will tell you to stow your food in a bear box & NOT in your car for that reason.

Yet the bears mainly seemed to check out the glass, probably because the guys keep watching and moving around behind it. The LAST thing you want is a bear interested in you or your stuff. Did you hear about the woman that rolled her window down to take a selfie and a bear mauled her arm fairly badly? How do you even explain that sort of stupidity to friends and family?

You consume too much low information right wing nonsense. Red states have a higher per capita rate of both gun deaths and gun homicides. In fact, California is 43rd out of 50. One of the top ten least dangerous states with respect to being shot. All but two of the top 20 states with respect to firearm deaths are red states. And those two are New Mexico and Colorado.

This is when you enjoy watching wildlife more than swimming in your pool😄. Maybe they could work out a schedule: the bears have the pool Monday Wednesday and Friday, and the owners get Tuesday Thursday Saturday, Sunday. An extra day for them because they pay the bills.
