5 жыл бұрынHello and welcome to my 6th unboxing video. Please let me know if you get bored of watching these videos. I will never get bored of doing them as I love the excitement of not knowing what is in the boxes. In this video I struggle to unwrap some of the items but I chose to leave it in as it shows how these things never run as smoothly as you would like. It's kind of like leaving the bloopers in instead of saving them for the end. I will try and mix up my mid week videos with some tutorial videos as well to make things more interesting for you. You mentioned some models you didn't have in your collection. Why not do a call to action video of all the ones you need or want with pictures showing what they look like . Then the subscribers may have or know where the illusive ones are for your set. Kinda like a fan based scavenger hunt. Lol

Matchbox collector just adding some possible clarification. The small van is a 17A Bedford Removals Van. It was originally green and had a label that read "Matchbox Removals Service" on both sides. The Station Wagon is a 31B Ford Fairlane wagon. The Rolls Royce is a regular series Matchbox #44A and the base is black. The red paint was added later. The Major Pack is an M2 Davies Tire Van. Should be orangy red with a silver trailer. Just a couple of asides, The #74 Canteen has a harder to find light blue base, the Studebaker wagon has a harder to find dark blue slider, and the yellow trailer is a first production run with knobby black tires.

DUKW. [not an acronym] manufacturer's code for a type of military wheeled amphibious landing-craft (D means 1942, U means utility (amphibious), K means all-wheel drive, W means 2 powered rear axles). The DUKW is a six-wheel-drive amphibious modification of the 2 ¹⁄₂-ton CCKW trucks used by the U.S. military during World War II and the Korean War.

Nice selection from your subscribers Marty, the trucks with metal wheels and pinched axles date from late 50's to early 60's when plastic wheels and mushroomed axles we're introduced. The Bedford box truck is an early variation having a curved roof rather than flat from late 50's. Cannot wait for the rebuild on the RAF refueller,always amazes me how much detail was on these early matchbox models the prices they sold for back in the day was absolutely cheap for what you got, I was born in 1955 and was one of seven having two brothers and four sisters money was tight so only got cars on birthdays and Christmas time but everyone I owned was cherished and remember them being on sale here for 2/6D in old money or equivalent to 12 and 1/2 pence in today's money.

Do you have a shelf with all your restoration vehicles lined up? Maybe do a video of all the vehicles lined up and show them off and talk about each one a little. This way new viewers can see what you already did and then they might go look into your past videos and watch them.

Marty,i never get bored watching your unboxing sessions,always fun.i tell you what,you're extremly lucky with the last item,That Bedford truck.9 times out of ten,they are missing one or both rear doors.i have 4,but they all had either one or both doors missing.keep up the good work.

1959 Ford Galaxie Station Wagon, #31 is what you have in your Hands Mate, One of the 1st Wave of American Built Vehicles Produced By Matchbox, the Others were... 1959 Chevrolet Impala 2 Door, (within the Last 3 Years MBX Brought Back the 59 Impala as the 59 Chevy Kingswood Station Wagon W/Luggage Rack, in 2 Colors, I have 3 Red, & 6 Blue) 1958 Cadillac Fleetwood Sedan. 1955 or 56 Ford Fairlane Country Squire Station Wagon, the 1st American Model Matchbox Put Out. #75 Ford Thunderbird, 58 or 59 Model Year, MBX Put it Out in 1961.

The small movers truck is an old Bedford. My grandfather drove a truck of that model in the day.

The Duck( dukw) was a 6x6 gmc truck with a boat hull built around the bottom and a pto ( power take off) shaft driving a propshaft, there was a also a gpw willys jeep which was amphibious, but easily sank when swamped by a wave,s, the dukw,s were actually quite sea worthy and could cross the channel, but had limited range and were quite slow, so easy targets.

Hey Marty, just a few thank-you's first for your videos, your glue and baking soda fix [it works] and I just received a set of Gentle Vise Jaws, magnetic and rubber to hold things in my vise that need a little TLC . Didn't know about them till I saw yours. Unfortunately I sold all my Matchbox vehicles on Ebay several years ago, had some from mid 50's on. For the money I made, would have felt better donating them to you. Sorry. I did keep one, Matchbox Models of Yesteryear No.Y-15, 1930 Packard Victoria. It was on my shelf and completely over looked it, so I kept it. Thanks again, I'll be watching.

Hilarious. Reminded me of being a kid at Xmas and getting a box in a box in a box etc. Each having wrapping paper and fully coated in a layer of clear tape. And inside the last box was a knife🔪.

I love how some people just dump a bunch of cars in a box and ship them, and how some individually wrap each and every one of them and then wrap them all together. I'd probably fall somewhere in the middle of those two. Enough that more damage doesn't come to them, but not so much that it takes a person too long to open.

Love that little Bedford TK artic! Probably a 12-tonner, with a shorter 'urban delivery' trailer! You've seen some villages in Norfolk Marty, you can't get a premium weight wagon around them without demolishing buildings! And the 'furniture van'? Looks like either a Bedford 'O' series, and the bit over the cab rook is called a Luton, named after the town where they made hats! :-) I love these video's Marty, and they look like you have fun too! :-)

Hi Marty. At first I was surprised that you hadn't seen some of those models before but then I realised you must be a lot younger than me! The American Ford Station wagon was the second No 31. The earlier one was also a Ford and it came in plain yellow. The version you have also appeared in yellow but is quite rare. There are probably quite a few more models you're not familiar with. That needs to be put right so keep an eye on your mailbox.

I have two of the 64b MG 1100 in green (it was also available in metallic blue) and I used to have the orange VW Camper. It should have a red plastic roof that hinges upwards

It’s an MG 1100. They did Austin, Morris, Riley, Wolseley and Vanden Plas variants of it too. It also came as the 1300. It has the same running gear as the Mini and was known as the ADO16

lots of atv trailers and older campers in north america run a 8" rim with tire makes it about 12". I upgraded mine to run 13" rims and with tire makes it about 15-16" tall tire.

Older boat trailers (for 12-14 foot boats) here in Australia used the same wheels as well.

Another great unboxing from some very generous people. The Honda motorcycles also should have a black kick stand underneath so maybe another job for your Printer skills. All the best from the Southwest ( UK)

I remember I had that little 'O' type Bedford removal van, the green is the correct colour, if my memory serves me well it had 'Lesneys modern removals' on the side in yellow. BTW, the RAF fuel bowser is probably a Leyland 'Hippo'. ATB from Somerset UK.
