Seeing the Matchbox ATV, I instantly thought of the 1970 Saturday morning comedy, "The Banana Splits". The characters drove those ATVs during the opening montage. The two lever control operated the right and left wheel sets independently, and the ATV could spin on its center axis. Matchbox never fails to amaze me with the variety of vehicles they produced.

Hi Marty,, The first pin in the Spanish parcel (the one with the helmet) is the one for the Pidgeon Shooting club. The other ones with the axe and the fasces are the pins for the Guardia Civil (Civil Guard). "Guisval" is a brand of miniature cars of course and in this case, as the "u" is preceded by "g" followed by the character i it has no sound at all. You have to pronounce them like the "gi" in "gift". The last badge from "Bomberos de Tenerife" is from Tenerife Firefighters.

quesion, is a tim tam a cookie or a candy? I suppose if a Twix is a candy bar, so are they. Used to beg my Aussie friends to send some, but now they'are available in the USA, even at Wal-mart. If you haven't had tim tams, by all means get some. However, there is a prescribed method to eating them my Aussie friends taught me. bite or break off two corners just a little bit, then gently suck hot coffee or cocoa through the cookie/candy. this like melts the inside the eat it. it's like a little bit of heaven.

Mattel bought out Matchbox several years back and there facilities are in Hong Kong and are made right next to Hot Wheels. So collectors like me will pick up some same castings of the same car or truck, because Matchbox castings are a little bit better than the Hot Wheel version.
@TheRoadhammer3794 жыл бұрын
HW has always had much better models and castings. As a child of the 80s, I always felt like my MB models were very shitty, while all of the cool kids had Redline HW and cool playsets and tracks. MB was like government cheese.
@Donleecartoons4 жыл бұрын
@@TheRoadhammer379 MB models in the 80s _were_ crap -- the quality went down and the designs went cartoony. I grew up in the 60s and 70s on what Lesney casts made their way to stores in Ohio, and I always liked the more realistic MB castings of the day over Hot Wheels (except for the Heavyweights trucks and the Hot Wings planes). That said, I've gotten interested in the modern-day MB line, because they're back to modeling real-world vehicles for the most part. The detailing is superior to the models of my day (recessed door panel lines, for one thing) though there's a _lot_ more plastic.

Maybe you can turn the Jeep into a convertible like Danny Diecast does with most of the vehicles he fixs and it look like someone stole the doors from the Pontiac and I can't blame Kevin for this one, the Spinish Toy Truck you got there is a Magirus Deutz a brand that became a part of Iveco Trucks, Looks like the Romanian gets whatever brand they can get ahold of to sell in Romania I guess Russia wanted to sell their own brands in that country and that Tank could be a Russian Tank you'd got there almost reminds me of the ones from the 1984 Movie Red Dawn expect some of them were built as props from Hollywood to look like the real thing, There a Hot Wheels version of that Nissan 300zx and wish Matchbox would also make a GTR so I could collect one and add it to my collection of Diecast Nissans and for that Holden UTE I got one of them in Purple with 5 pack, Judging by that Silver & Blue Concept I'd bet it was based off of real life Concept Cars, Matchbox has been outsourcing over the years beside Hot Wheels and now that their apart of Mattel their now probably competing with Maisto, Ertl, Johnny Lightning, Majorette, Siku, Tomica and many other Brands that out there that are well detailed.

I think the ones that come back was an accidental discovery when one got made a little different and thrown a bit different, I don't know for sure how they got the toy variety where they come back,. I don't think anyone knows for sure. They have found some at least 10,000 years old, but some have even been found in Egyptian crypts...
