You can tell that the dining room was full of geniuses because one of them became the Professor on Gilligan's Island. That man could make a geiger counter out of a coconut! The tooth brush joke was because they had just started to market tooth brushes sealed in little plastic tubes to look spiffy and sanitary and modern.

Talk about high brow humor on this episode. "This Island Earth" is probably my favorite movie from this era. My first time watching it was MST3K The Movie but I liked it so much I tracked down a copy of the original. Yet I still hear Mike, Crow, and Servo's jokes and recite them. Every time I watch it, I want to build an Interociter.

Sometimes I get really excited by the thumbnail to learn about a new, cheesy old movie and I _forget_ Mark inserts himself into these reviews, and then it's *so much funnier* when you get to that point in the video. This cameo was probably one of the funniest he's ever done imo - man, I lost it when he was like, "What, you think _that's_ me? That looks NOTHING like me!" 🤣🤣🤣

Strangely enough, I watched this movie yesterday. For about the twentieth time. It's a bunch of fun. The matte paintings are terrific and Russell Johnson is worth the price of admission alone. The way they leave him to die is disgraceful.

It's kinda like Contact with Jodie Foster, except the budget was like $1200 for airplane rental, rubber suit, stock footage, and booze.

The first big screen tv back in the 1950s. So the guy on screen tells Cal, To turn the dial 17 degrees to the right. Without markings that precise, would be extremely difficult don't you think??
