While his short stature could be turned into an effective joke, I think the chin is just too weak for a superhero So eventhough I believe that it's high time for Shayne to branch out of Smosh, an SNL audition is probably a more realistic goal, than a DC blockbuster

Same here. I’ve been a fan of smosh for so long and Shayne never fails to bring a smile to my face. I can’t stop imagining him in the role now, which is a shame, because he cannot be unlikeable for even a minute. Even he’s playing a complete dirtbag, you can’t help but laugh at the delivery. My, what a man. Charisma beyond words

Especially since we have a Blue Beetle who is his successor confirmed to be in the DCU. It’d be a real shame to not get much of their friendship, but it doesn’t seem impossible (plus it’s the kind of story Gunn seems to like to do).

Elongated Man might be a bit redundant, with Plastic Man being the more popular stretchy man (even though PM brought up a great point in the comic "Justice" where he says that Shazam doesn't have to leave due to being too similar to Superman, so why can there be only one stretchman?).

a booster being in his 40s actually kinda works pretty well in my opinion since if jenny kord is in her 20s then blue beetle should be in about his 40s or 50s and i feel booster and beetle should be around the same age

Hilariously, the more Nandi spoke about Booster Gold, the more I was sitting here going, “That’s Joel McHale.” Like literally Joel McHale. McHale even played Football in college at UW. 😂 A younger option I think would be Jim Cummings.

I also like the idea that all the human vigilantes have been around longer than metahumans like Superman. So characters like Batman, green arrow and blue beetle are around late 30s to early 50s.

Fillion really has fit the role for most of his career. It works a lot better for me than his casting as Guy Gardner, that still feels a little...off, but I can understand he now might be a little too old for whatever Booster Gold they're looking to give us.

I watched Barbie movie for the first time recently, and yes Ryan gosling was already a mega star, but he really impressed me and this seems like a role he would have such fun with. Unfortunately, I don’t see him taking a role in a series rather than a movie (if he ever took a super hero role at all)-but bringing that kenergy in a much more self aware way would absolutely work

honestly i do think Shayne would be a great booster. watching his Dio Shayne bit from Damien's funeral roast on smosh really displays it well. hes got the looks, the ego, the face, and the comedy skills. some of his bits on the try not the laugh series also show that hes not above poking fun at himself and taking off the mask to show some emotion when its needed. while he may not have as much experience being on tv, nearly a decade of variety content on smosh has really built up his skills to some high levels. not sure if hes looking for another tv show after goldbergs, but i think hed bring a great energy to the role. plus with smosh hes clearly got the experience playing off of others in a big ensemble cast, which could work well with a justice league international in the future

Booster Gold reminds me of my favourite dungeons and dragons character I’ve played. He was a peacock aarakocra (anthropomorphic bird person) wizard who claimed to be the king of a kingdom in the elemental plane of air, sent on a mission to save the material plane. Really, he was in the aarakocra equivalent of his late teens, and had only been king for 8 days before he was overthrown and tossed through a portal to the material plane because he tried to add a new day of the week and name it after himself. He would constantly introduce himself to everyone he met by saying “I am Haw, ruler of the kingdom of *SQUAWK*”.

Glen Powell has been my Booster Gold since Top Gun. He’s got everything I’d be looking for in Booster, charming but punchable, arrogant but vulnerable, and outside of that he’s a star on the rise which is a great way to get more people interested in seeing Booster. Alden Ehrenreich being on here is interesting because after Oppenheimer I really settled into him as Batman. I don’t know, his turn as Han Solo kept all of the charm you’d want in a Bruce while having more of an idealistic point of view for himself in a sort of Batman way, and seeing him go toe to toe in a battle of wits with RDJ in Oppenheimer showed he can have that sort of command of the situation and intelligence you’d want as well.

I’m just happy to see the love for Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on TV…genuinely one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. It’s nice to see Nando discover it. Have to say as a fan of that show I completely understand the choice.
