The pure joy on Rocket's face in that last shot gives me chills. His entire story stems from having to move beyond the idea that he's unworthy of both love and happiness because of the tragedy of his origins, and once he comes into his own, there's a sense of emotional freedom that comes with it. That's both brilliant thematic cohesion and immensely powerful. Great finale to this amazing series of collaborations.

I don’t think I’ll ever forget watching the end of GOTG3 in the cinema. It’s long - some might say overlong - but I loved seeing the film _relish_ in that joy, and stay in that moment for a _sliiightly_ self-indulgent length. It just lets the emotion wash over you again and again. It’s the best MCU film yet - and, honestly? I don’t see it being topped. Banger song, too. ‘Just this once, everybody lives!’ - Malekith. Or someone.

GotG3 is an absolute masterpiece. It's not about saving a city, or nation, or planet, or galaxy. It's about saving each other, and not because of any sort of duty, but because they care about each other.. The trilogy as a whole is spectacular, one of the best in cinematic history. Everything matters, in a personal way, not just for lore. Every character changes, and those changes affect relationships, which affect characters.

The ending of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 actually had me break down sobbing. Not because of sadness, but overwhelming happiness. The universe coldly and cruelly seemed to take away everything it could from the Guardians. But, after so much pain and suffering, they dance and cheer with the new family they found in each other and the new life they had in front of them. One of the most beautiful endings I've ever seen in a movie.

I remember thinking how cool it would be to hear songs in these movies that I grew up with since i dont connect with the stuff from before the 2000s in the same way(still love that stuff, my dad has had me listening to Rush and other bands since I was like 2). It was incredible that not only did all the Guardians survive, their stories "ended" because they had all grown and changed, and now had futures to pursue. Rocket and Groot with their new team, Peter with his Earth family, Gamora with her Ravagers, Mantis seeking her people, and Nebula, Drax, and Kragin looking after Knowhere. Even a satisfying epic ending like Star Wars or Return Of The King leaves the question of exactly how "happily ever after" will work out. Even if we never see it played out in movies, Gunn gave us a satisfying sense that these heroes will live on.

Nebula has the single best arc of any MCU character in my opinion and seeing her dance and smile with the kids at the end is so wholesome 💚 I love Groot helping to loosen Rocket up and dance with him 💚 I love Drax finally finding his calling and being an amazing dad dancing with the kids 💚 I love Mantis going off to find herself and Gamora having a new family 💚 I love Peter going home and seeing his grandfather again 💚 I love Kraglin and Cosmo getting in on the dancing and howling and just being a fun little duo 💚

Gunn's writing has been so tight I guess if one were to be hooked into the story well enough one would know how it end lol Not me but my cousin... we had a pool to guess who's gonna bite the dust in gotg 3. Highest votes were on Rocket and then Drax. 3rd highest was Quill himself. But cousin said "no, he's gonna live, he's gonna meet his grampa in some US suburbs" We could've made that a bet and we would've lost money to him because that was dead on to what happened in the movie

this is so much of what i felt after watching the film, something else is how each film in the trilogy speaks to different aspects of growing up so to speak, with Vol. 1 being about Peter and his mom, Vol. 2 about his father, and Vol. 3 being about found family (among the myriad of great themes in the film), some of those ideas being foreshadowed with the transition from Father and Son to Cheap Trick's Surrender at the end of Vol. 2

Almost every single Guardians movie makes me cry buckets, and 3 was no exception. I put it off, watching it, because part of me didn't want the story to end, but I knew it had to. Gunn simply understands the sublime silliness and seriousness of comics. It shows in every one of his latter day movies. The Guardians and the Suicide Squad are the crown jewel of what comic movies should be, and I can't wait to see how he treats Superman, Supergirl, and all the gang over at the Distinguished Competition.

The greatest gift Gunn gave the MCU, which I hope they and every other superhero franchise studio learns from (which I doubt), is that you don't need a death to generate emotion or closure. Nor do all the problems have to be solved. They still have plenty of issues and things to resolve, but they ended in a better place with hope for the future. I loved the movie when I saw it in theatres, but it has kept growing in my mind and during rewatch. This creates an even deeper and more meaningful layer, it may be your best analysis to date!

I can't describe how m7ch this scene hit me when I watched the movie. I was in the theater towards the end of the school year with a bunch of my friends. I was literally holding back tears because I could feel how the song connected to myself and the characters. Then during graduation, i automatically started seeing the scene again in my head.

Ain't No Mountain High Enough is on the Vol. 2 cassette. The Vol. 1 cassette got destroyed in the Dark Aster crash on Xandar. Peter opens the Vol. 2 cassette, and puts it in to play that song.

I have loved these characters dearly for years, and it almost never happens that characters I relate to or get invested in make it tothe end of their story unscathed. Like Nando, I was mentally prepared to see some of my favorite characters ever die, or get those unhappy, "silver linings" kind of ending. This scene felt like a release for me as much as for them. All these characters that I love and relate to and care for, not only survive their story, but WIN it. They end up happy. I don't think I can quite explain how much that meant to me.

Another cool thing about Gunn dancing as groot is the first two movies, he dances in a room alone or with a couple of other people in the room and gives the video to animators for reference. In the third gotg he’s dancing with everyone

Fantastic video, as always! Thank you! I'm not skilled enough to make a video even close to the level of the creators in the playlist, but I'll say that if I COULD, I'd make a video about the final scene in Scrubs. It has stuck with me for so long, and I would love for more people to be aware of it!
