So, we actually DO know what the original script apparently was...and it's interesting. And you're right on with the larger details. And the smaller ones make SO MUCH SENSE. (Some minor stuff with the web of destiny MIGHT not be right). Another possiblity, mgith be that in the original cut, SPIDEY IS PULLED FROM THE FUUTRE by Madame Web.

AED is a type of Defibrillator, specifically designed to assist with CPR. It allows people with minimum training to deliver a helpful shock, after the machine analyzes if the patient needs it. In addition, the pads are just on the patient before it does anything, so you don't have to do the whole defibrillator process. Oh, and it offers a metronome effect so you can do CPR better. And when do you learn about how to use it? CPR classes. So yeah, that part makes sense.

Just saw it on Amazon or Netflix (I forget which) -- nothing remarkable. I found this link in the margins while I was looking for other content on KZfaq so I didn't come looking for this, in other words, just to comment about what a train-wreck this flick is! It borders on ULTIMATELY BORING and I DON'T THINK THIS IS EVER GOING TO DEVELOP INTO ANYTHING POSSIBLY, EVEN SLIGHTLY, INTERESTING!!!!!!!! It seems like they took a five minute script pitch and desperately tried to turn it into a feature length film-- the heroines in this film rarely become heroic more than they are self-serving on a sales pitch fishing expedition for a future film franchise! The sheer "hubris" of this move was incredibly stomach churning and pathetic! It would have been akin to the first Superman movie promising you'll believe a man could fly, getting premier tickets, only to see a single scene of someone catapulting a mini-figure through the air and hearing a narrator state "You see? He flew-- just as promised!!!!!" @ckannan90 had it right in the comment calling it "such a level of hubris" -- utter ridiculousness! The girls danced on a diner table longer than they were portrayed as super heroines!

I'll tell you what really happened. The character of Ezekiel's was originally featured as a much larger role with a backstory and his journey to the top. Later, when tested before a real audience, the audience preferred Ezekiel's character and actually saw him as the hero and the girls as shallow and uninteresting.
@SuperAceman007
@SuperAceman007 19 сағат бұрын
And that is why they had to edit Ezekiel's scenes down to nothing and his dialogue forced to make him less significant.

Yes, they had to loop/reshoot/etc. a big percentage of the movie because they originally meant it to take place in the 90s and then moved it to the 2000s, and they originally meant it as a close Spider-Man tie-in and then later changed it to make it...not that. One reason for the time frame change also reportedly had to do with the inability to license some of the songs that had been planned to be used to create the feeling of that era (no, this shouldn't have been treated as important). They banked on vague Spider-implications and everyone wanting to rail Sydney Sweeney and tried to dump it in theaters anyway; it was a bad bet with a bad outcome.

So the problem with woke-ism is not “men are bad”. It’s when reality is bent to make things more “equal”. Like Jen is not seriously strong enough to pull Bruce at all when he is unconscious. That’s the reality, and what viewers would expect, based on their own experience. When (non-superhero) women can physically go toe to toe with men, you know you have a reality bending writer doing it for inclusion’s sake. That reality bending is what breaks it for viewers. Make a consistent reality that viewers are familiar with, and then use superheroes themselves to do super things.

So you open your video by telling everyone you ditched your (presumably by now ex) girlfriend on Valentine’s Day to become obsessed by a movie about comic book women? Couldn’t have waited for the next night and maybe go to see Lisa Frankenstein or something with her…

Then you didn’t “just give her” anything. You took advantage of her not being around to go watch a comic book movie. Enlightened self interest maybe but you made it sound like you ditched her in the middle of a shared day off.

Do you ever feel sorry for the normie actors? Even the most casual comics fan could have told these actors to stay away from Sony's spider man movies (SPUMC) at all costs. Dakota probably thought she was getting into the MCU with this one. But as a normie, she and her agents got played. She needs a nerdy cousin or something to keep her career straight.

Wait, so, as far as your original script theory- what about that shot of "spider-man" catching himself on that beam? Doesn't that imply that spider-man was supposed to be actively in the movie?

I do like the idea of mutants only having lesser versions of their mutations, like Mystique being very limited to hide her blue skin. Able to pass more as just rare "freaks" best off just hiding than even really being wraponised. And then for some mutant genes are becoming stronger, so what might have just been a sideshow now earns fear and discreet. Possibly introduce early there being a definitive way to detect mutants with activated X genes, which could even lead back to Wanda. Hank McCoy existed with his original mutation barely of note, it became stronger that he had increased athleticism. And by investigating the cause mutates himself further.

I don’t know how much it really affects things, but part of the reason for so much ADR instead of reshoots might be the scenes that are in Screen X, where they project onto the sides of the room. Whether that makes it more difficult to reshoot it, or just more expensive. Now I’m wondering if they just did it in the hopes it would distract from the ADR

I actually think both this movie and Morbius are really fascinating watches if you are really interested in movies and have some knowledge of "how the sausage is made" so to speak either from experience in the industry or academic film studies. Many movies have huge amounts of cut content which changes the overall final product on screen and both these films have a lot of that, but, the thing that really got me seeing both of these movies is how they seem to have not had enough footage to begin with. I watch a lot of B movies and so I am really attuned to spotting the use of techniques designed to work around the inability to shoot certain things, missing actors for a scene, reuse of props/footage/etc. It is super jarring to see a big budget Hollywood film that in many ways is a "normal" movie with major actors, location shots, decent CGI, etc. that in other respects has more in common with like "The Giant Claw" or "Lady Terminator".
