Some of the Cincinnati fans maybe forgot that Messi coming into this game was VERY tired, played every 3-4 days for the last 8 games, he didn't have a preseason, he's 36 years old, he just joined new team new players around him and he STILL put 2 assists past Cincinnati to take it to pens. I can't wait till Cincinnati plays a well rested Messi/Inter Miami, THEY GON' LEARN lol.

I would say the most influential athlete in America has been Michael Jordan. Back in the 90's, everyone wanted to be like Mike. Even though Messi is a world wide star, I still don't see many little kids in America saying they want to be Messi, or wear Messi shoes. I would say that millions of kids began playing basketball because they saw Michael Jordan play on TV, or saw the Nike Air Jordan shoes. Other influential athletes in America: Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Ken Griffey Jr., Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Kobe Bryant, Wayne Gretsky, Barry Bonds, Lebron James, Jose Canseco, Bo Jackson, Joe Montana, Dan Marino, Deon Sanders, Landon Donavan, Clint Dempsey, etc. Maybe one day there will be an American soccer player who will become elite level player playing in Barcelona.

Born and raised in the US. I've watched Messi since 2012 which is when I discovered him. I've watched nothing but European football ever since. It's nice to hear some of my fellow Americans starting to use proper football vernacular, it's happening more and more where Americans like myself call football football, and call grid iron "hand egg ball" cause that's what it is
@ian645
@ian645 10 ай бұрын
why they keep complaining the refs, they did nothing wrong. The 8 minutes added were justified because of the hydration break & the Cincinnati players constantly time wasting. The 2 goals that weren’t counted were right, clear offside & handball. Lastly the “handball” pen, was rightfully not called because Alba’s hands were close to his body, that’s why it wasn’t given. All these excuses😂

You can argue that Cincinnati got lucky on the fact that tata started the game with gomez and mota which is a stupid move for for any manager to do for a semi final, the second those two were subbed off, goals started pouring in 😂 the game would never have been as close as it has if messi just started with the typical three like how it was in the previous games

You could say the same thing about Cincinatti. Miami was lucky Acosta started to cramp up and had to be substituted out. He was the best player on the pitch during that match. He was the playmaker for Cincinatti. If he had stayed in the game, they would have scored another 2 goals.

I think it was more like the tactics of TaTa knowing that FCC as team overall have better players then IM, which from the start will give it all to play offensively. TaTa also knew that most of the starting 11 of the IM players was tired due to the Leagues Cup games. The take away in TaTa's tactics was to get the opponent tired before bringing on better substitutions. FCC coach did the opposite by starting with all his best players, which didn't end well for them at the end of regular time and extra time.

I like what you're doing with the fans, by getting their say on before/after the games. But, when some of the opposing team fans say something so obvious like why was there so extra time like 8 mins, "the ref is clearly favoring them". You can tell them because of the slow substitutions and players being down injured. That is obviously the reason for it, but some fans are clueless, so if you let them know why and add your little perspective then they'll understand the game better. Don't get me wrong, it's about their opinions and stuff but if you want to grow the sport in America, you gotta educate the uneducated of the game. Overall, your videos are good though, this is not a hate comment, just letting you know!

I agree, also there was a hydration break in each half and Cincy players were wasting time like crazy when they were 2-1 up after the 75th minute. They were laying on the floor bc of cramps, pretending to be injured and Lucho Acosta walked all the way to his teammate to give him the arm band and then walked the opposite direction to leave the field.

Unbelievable what Messi has done to impact MLS soccer not to mention the world of soccer. So many ppl got a wake up call to who Messi is to this game when they came back like they did once again and beat FCC, what a rush, love this game. Messi and company looked exhausted by the 50th min, it took everything they had to come back and win, it was incredible. Imagine a fully rested Inter-Miami team?! Last but not least, there were some calls that seemed a little off, but idk that it would warrant a different outcome. Both teams put in the work, and penalty kicks are just to unlock a winner, they both were great.

For all the soccer/football fans in the US please understand the rules of the stoppage time. There was the 5mins hydration break plus the 10 subs, 5 from each team which the ref only gave 3mins. There has been games in the English premier league where there is 10mins of stoppage time without hydration breaks which is from just jury/sub. Look like the ref was favoring FCC from my perspective. Ashley Cole from Chelsea FC puts it best "playing against Messi (Barcelona at the time) you cant just play for the 90mins. You have to be playing for the 90+ mins or else they will finish you"

These Cincy fans are sore loser, how can you said Messi lucky, he has been doing that magic all over Europe for like 20 years. And complaining about the minutes added, it was adding up from those injury time, water break and VAR checked. I thought 8 minutes were nothing, should’ve been 10 minutes.

Oh he absolutely was favoring Cincinnati. But people are too lazy to form their own opinions so when they read online that trolls call everything "rigged" for Messi, then they take that opinion and run with it if it fits their agenda (like these fans excusing that their team lost to Inter Miami, instead of actually analizing the game)

sometimes people in the USA look like they live on a totally isolated island. They never heard about Messi and European football leagues, they boo anyone who's playing against their team, and so on. Someone please tell them that American football, golf, boxing, UFC, or basketball are very popular only in America, the REST of the world actually doesn't care that much about those games. So guys, before being so proud not knowing who is Leo Messi, note - real football is an international game and Messia is an integral part of it. Not because of his titles, earnings, etc., but because he is the soul of the game You HAVE to know the G.O.A.T.!
