I began sobbing as soon as Mickey appeared and everyone went crazy. I can’t wait to welcome this show back in person!!!

The Mulan segment could use some cheography work but considering it's the newest part of the show there's plenty of chance to work on that. I always felt the Pocahontas segment dragged long and didn't make that much sense in the original. One of those rare occasions where a current day Disney fix actually worked.

SO HAPPY THAT IT'S BACK!

Maybe in the future if they have more casts, they can have like a group fighting routine for the Mulan segment, more guards chasing Aladin and boats for the Moana scene. Other than that, this is definitely an improvement. I usually would bypass Fantasmic before but this entices me more to watch it.

A lot of the projection segments are from the original Fantasmic at Disneyland when it first came out. The scenes from Pocahontas to Mulan, Frozen, Moana and Aladdin is new.

I'm not even a frozen fan but seeing that part live sent my soul into the stratosphere

It's a good update! Though I wish there were better projections onto the mountain like Disneyland did it. The Mulan and Aladdin scenes could have added more actors, and it would have been great to have another villain scene.

I love it, the updates work, my only issues: besides minor malfunctions with some pyro (Mickey's Sword, and the boat spinners) I do wish the Dragon was updated, Disneyland's is more accurate, and given the years its been, I felt this was the time to do the update to the Murphy model. the only other I can think of is the mulan scene, the choreography seems slow, and I think they should add a few more cast to join the two on stage. The Stage is bigger than we know, so I know they can do faster movement. I feel this can get improved as the actors get more comfortable performing, but yeah. Overall an improvement

The hero section is cool if maybe a bit too long . Kind of wish they switched Moana and Elsa because "Show Yourself" feels more like the climax of that moment musically. Other than that, it's definitely a nice addition to the show, though I don't know if I can see it transferring to Disneyland considering it doesn't necessarily flow with the more "Mickey's Dream" approach and requires a slightly bigger stage.

So happy for Disney world fans that you got back Fantasmic.

Wonderful soundtrack. The drone-like intro lights scattered , then focused effect! Great. Matched the traditional outro at the end when lights pull in suddenly. Nice bookends.

Generally a fan of the new "heroes" segment, I think it's an upgrade, but I can't be the only one who was expecting Moana's bit to have... boats? On the water? Like, so much of that movie was boats???

Fantasmic 1.5. Needs more work done. The Elsa and Moana scenes are the best. WE NEED A NEW DRAGON ASAP

We'd love to get a "Tom's Commentary/Opinion" video comparing the old Fantasmic! with the new show!

Very enjoyable. The Disneyland one would benefit from the new heroes segment, but I think the bubble section right before the heroes goes on a little too long. But, that's just me, and I know the use of the screens is a big part of misdirection for the audience so that cast members can set up different props as the show goes on.

We LOVE Fantasmic! Loved the updates! We went just last night.

So big thing I noticed is opening night (compared to the cast preview night) is the middle laser on the mountain was off during the finale. Also they cut back on the fireworks during the finale. Looks like they want it to be more like Disneyland where the light affects are prioritized over the fireworks. Which is a bummer because the Finale was always amazing. The lasers could have made this 10x better. Overall good changes. Can't wait to come see it in person!

You'd think that being over a decade since the "new" dragon debuted in Disneyland's show, that they wouldn't still be using the cherry picker dragon at WDW. That said, At least this version didn't cut the Evil Queen transformation. I liked the concept of the new middle scene, but I think there were too many projections in use, especially during Frozen, I could barely even see Elsa to know why the audience was freaking out, I assume it might have been a quick costume change, but at this zoom out perspective I really couldn't tell.

Watched it in person tonight before heading back to England tomorrow. I think it surpasses the old version and the wife teared up when seeing mickey again. Really worth going to see live!!

So happy that they kept the original 1998 theme of Fantasmic which also used at Disneyland in 1992 rather than using rescored theme like Disneyland currently. The new version also kept energetic post-show music instead of replaced with defunct ballad TDS Exit Music "Imagination Song" that currently used at Disneyland.

I still prefer Disneyland's Fantasmic over Hollywood Studios. Hidden right in front of our noses the entire time at Tom Sawyer's Island and the rivers of America, the same place it looked boring and normal through the day, suddenly there is a dragon throwing fire at you at night, just pure magic, and was it me or does Mickey dance a bit better with the rhythm of the music at the end on Disneyland than on Hollywood studios?

I will planning on going to see Fantasmic this Sunday night!

Considering how long the attraction was closed, they could have done more. But I can definitely see the improvements. Wish it was as refined and reimagined as Fantasmic in DisneyLand, but I do like that they kept the original score, as I prefer it over the new one they did for lands 2.0.

Unpopular opinion. I was underwhelmed with the Mulan martial arts movements and the Aladdin part. The bubble sequence is too long. Seems like it could use a few finishing touches

It’s great for the east-coast park-goers to have this show back, I’m sure. But despite the 2-year hiatus, and despite the purpose-built stage and technical apparatus for the show at Hollywood Studios, the east-coast show still isn’t at the same level of the west-coast version. The entertainment folks on the west coast have produced such an amazing show despite the limited physical space and the challenges they faced due to needing to maintain the thematic integrity of a preexisting land (New Orleans Square and Tom Sawyer Island). It’s such a joy watching the show magically unfold like origami from a nondescript shack on Tom Sawyer island; that itself is a pretty big part of the charm of the show. The west coast show also simply includes more technological storytelling tools which allow for a much more creative and immersive use of the physical set-pieces which leads to an overall more compelling and visually enveloping show. The HS show continues to lack basic storytelling tools, like truly dancing, moving fountain heads, intricate projection mapping on the stage itself, and a dragon that’s more than a cherry picker. I hope these tools and props can be added to the HS show eventually.

As much, I am happy for WDW but I feel like Fantasmic was not invested in the way’s DLR was. So like someone said this is more of a Fantasmic 1.5. If they want to keep the original score, at least update the machines and stuff as I was understanding from other comments on here.

I think we can all agree now this update for WDW Fantasmic! has met up and surpassed Disneyland’s Fantasmic!

Dragon looking pretty rough. Lol you can’t even see it. Budget dragon compared to the one in Disney land. The money they invested to fix the show and upgraded it, and the dragon still trashy doe, they did it dirty.

I’m so over Frozen. I wish they had kept Fantasmic strictly 2D. But eh… not a big deal either.

Last saw fantasmic back in 2015. The newest version of the show needs some tweaking, but it's still a neat show. Looks like Mickey's sword malfunctioned, I think it's suppose to shoot sparks.
