"Founders of Hogwarts" would be the fitting title for a prequel I would like to watch on a tv show. Delving deep onto the conflict of their relationships on elves slavery, the creation of each common room houses, and the Chamber of Secrets.

I would like to see something set in modern times, medieval magical fantasy is so typical

Lol 😏 No but in all seriousness, imagine you are Slytherin. It's early into the middle ages and witches and wizards are being hunted horrifically by muggles out of fear and hatred. Salazar reveled in the power of magic More so than any of the other founders, he was ambitious and cunning and knew that his people needed to be protected. So imagine you being a witch or wizard were hunted by muggles and now suddenly four very powerful people created a fortress to protect you and help you study and learn magic in peace. Slytherin was absolutely invested in that, he was a founding member. Now the reason why Slytherin is seen as so controversial in the modern day is because he did not trust anyone who was not pure blood. Thus he is labeled a pure blood supremacist. But I believe the reason he didn't trust half bloods or muggleborns was because he didn't trust the families of those students who would come to that school because he knew the horrors of the witch hunts firsthand and knew the school needed to stay safe, protected, and secret. So he created the chamber of secrets to kill those who could threaten the safety of their school. Now obviously that is horrible, but again you have to keep in mind the context of that age and why he would have done something so drastic. He wanted to protect his students. He was like Magneto, very misguided but not naive to the horrors of what those who fear you can do to your own kind. Don't believe all the propaganda thats said about Slytherin house being evil, It's one of the stupidest contrivances to have been written in those books.

Not quite, there is also the squibs, who are born in the magic world but cannot practice magic. In non Voldemort / Grindelwald times they live "normal" lives in the magic society. Also dosnt look like ordinary wand, more like the Elder Wand.

Yeah I was thinking it's just to blend in and could maybe do something simple like shoot sparks or cast Lumos, like an enchanted stick instead of an actual wand. Though they might not trust him with a wand that can actually do something in case he sets it off on accident which he is prone to do.

I was always so confused why they didn't make Grindlewald look like a normal guy? We see a young and old version of him in the base Harry Potter movies, and sure he had lighter hair, but it wasn't platinum white. Not to mention all of a sudden he had two different colored eyes. Mads Mikkelson is a great casting choice, he's gonna look badass in those wizard fights.

i was laughing about that, he said the robe and hat never wears muggle clothes thing and then almost went right to the moment when they show dumbledore decked out in muggle clothes. if i remember right, theres mention in the books of dumbledore being good at blending in.

@@mcdotterson4103 yea Dumbledore is one of those wizards who knows how to blend in with muggles but chooses not to most of the time because he probably finds it more fun. Similar to the Doctor.

Dumbledore is centuries old by the time Harry Potter rolls around and we can assume that he's a well-travelled man. It think it would be odd if he hasn't picked up on what Muggle fashion looked like. Especially men's fashion that is much more straight forward. You just need to stand on a street and look around and figure out what all the guys are wearing and emulate. He's clever enough to figure it out. Granted his own fashion sense seems to be more colourful and flamboyant in the books so it's more odd that he's rocking such drab colours all the time but people's tastes change with time so maybe his fashion sense did as well. Even for us real world Muggles, we tend to dress more "socially acceptable" when we're younger then stop giving any fucks when we're elderly. Lol maybe we met Albus when he's in his grandpa-does-what-he-wants phase when he's just giving balls to the wall, who's gonna tell me anything, try to stop me vibes.

I agree with the design they did for Depp. If your villain looks like a Hollywood level villain in the most obvious way, then it's hard to believe why people would fall for his manipulations when they're supposed to be subtle and sneak under your defenses. It makes the characters seem stupid for falling for it. That's why Mads was so good as Hannibal. When he manipulated it made sense that people fell for the mask of the exquisitely dressed, talented doctor with the silver tongue and overtly civilized airs and graces. No one would think he'd be eating people or harming patients. It's that kind of subtlety that helps sell why so many people would follow Grindlewald while convincing themselves that his motivations aren't villainous. Most people like thinking they're the hero of their own story. They'd balk at the idea that they were getting mixed up in overt evil.

Wizards can still do powerful magic without wands. Don't forget that wands are an European invention. Because of how they can easily amplify and focus a wizard's magic and with Europeans spreading through out the world, the wand became the most used magical object, something essential for a wizard or a witch. But Africans still use magic with just their hands.

There's a theory that jacob is a wizard or somehow has magical ancestry but doesn't know about it... and his parents or someone who is magical in his family obliviated him about all this so basically his powers were tamed down and he couldn't use magic at all... he started living as a muggle and was basically even identified as a muggle... but since it's dumbledore who wants to give jacob a wand, dumbly prolly looked into Jacob's past or maybe even used legilimens on him and found out he's a wizard who doesn't even know he's a wizard...or maybe he is a squib, like Argus Filch... Its basically a theory I read... it'll be fun to see what actually plays out with jacob weilding a wand....

I mean the wizard biologist is the one who goes into the device with Jacob, he might be a squib, he was able to actually slightly remember when he had his memory erased, which tends to mean he should have SOME magical aptitude, as muggles get completely wiped, but wizards are somewhat resistant.

I've not heard of any evidence that he ever hit her! In those recordings it was clear that SHE is the abuser. The only thing they have is he said some nasty texts to a friend, but who isn't gonna say nasty stuff about their abuser? All her "evidence" against him has been disproved.

I agree with pretty much your whole comment. It's nice to see someone else who enjoyed Crimes of Grindelwald. It's not a perfect movie and it throws a lot at you but it sets up a lot of interesting possibilities for the future films.

He also seemed to get more eccentric and flamboyant in age (as many older folk do) and you see him opting for more colourful, embroidered outfits that stand out even among other teachers, fun hats and accessories. Like older Albus wears heeled shoes and young Albus looks like he'd never. I mean our fashion sense changes every 5 years to a decade. Waaaay more time passes between this era and the Harry Potter era. His style would definitely change as would his personality. Preparing for War Dumbledore is not Nitwit Blubber Oddment Tweak Dumbledore.

@@EChacon I loved watching it the second time. There were so many things that "clicked" for me. That I didn't know what to think about the first time. So many theories and possibilities came into my head.

@@leonielovemusic I just didn't like how confusing and complicated this film was so I'm optimistic that Secrets of Dumbledore fix the mistakes and a vast improvement over its predecessor.

Muggle born wizards like Hermione are descendants of squibs (child born from magical parents but can't perform magic). squibs are like muggles Except they're born from magical parents. Since they can't perform magic they leave magical world & live/marry with muggles having a normal human life but once in a while a wizard is born in their descendants (like Hermione) because all their descendants do have magical gene in them but it's not activated so they can't do magic until a activated magical gene appears in their family & that is what muggleborn wizards are (so Hermione & Harry's mom lily must have a squib as their ancestors)

There's a theory that Jacob is actually a wizard who was obliviated when he was a kid, by his parents, to save him from the dangers of the wizarding world... this locked his magical powers and he was never able to do any magic, not even accidental... but since its Albus Dumbledore who wants to give him a wand, he prolly looked into Jacob's past or used legilimens on him and figures it all out and dumbledore will help unlock his magical powers... a second theory says that Jacob is a squib, like Argus Filch... and if trained properly, squibs can do magic... or my theory is: that wand is just a stick to help jacob blend in...😂 but seriously, If Jacob actually ends up doinh magic, imma lose my shit
