Although I think a lot of fans ARE upset with what happened with Johnny Depp and he was Fantastic, I think most fans are also NOT upset about Mads...at least that's what I've been experiencing. Mads Mikkelsen is a treasure.

I particularly didn't like the casting with Johnny, for me (outside all the polemics) his interpretation of Grindewald was too similar to Jack Sparrow... a evil Jack Sparrow, i don't know why

the problem with casting mads mikkelsen in these villain roles is that I'm always going to root for him. he really should've been grindelwald from the beginning cause holy sh*t he looks far more intimidating and sinister than the previous one and did i mention how fcking sexy he is as an evil wizard??

I am excited to see how that whole lie/revelation is dealt with. If it is just a lie will Credence turn on Grindlewald? Or still feel in debt to him in a way? Could he swap sides and change the tide of a battle? Or even if it is some kind of retcon and he IS a half brother I’m fascinated to see how Dumbledore would deal with that! Theres so many ways to take these characters it’s fascinating

I like that they changed up the Hedwig Theme leitmotif to better fit this new series of films. It reminds you of Harry Potter but also reminds you that this is something new.

Personally, I'm very excited that Mads is doing his take on Grindelwald. His aura is very chilling and sinister without the unnecessary theatrics of make-up they had on Johnny Depp. No offense to Johnny but I think Mads is very much suited to play a complex villain character.

I’m still burnt from Crimes of Grindewald but I’m excited for this almost solely because of Mads Mikkelsen as Grindewald. Honestly he should’ve played him from the beginning. I just hope that this movie isn’t as convoluted or impenetrable as the last movie.

Oh i am soooo glad that there's other people who think Mads is perfect casting (Hannibal is my favorite series of all time). He really should've been cast from the beginning and I know people are gonna be pissed like what happened is absolute shit, but at the same time, Mads is my Grindelwald and is exactly how I imagined him in my head reading the books (and fanfics)

Once again I'm noticing reactors acting surprised at the wand being given to the muggle when we saw this in the first trailer MONTHS ago. This is a trend I'm noticing when reactors watch a 2nd and 3rd trailer with the same material. They see the same thing but act like its th3 first time. I recommend ginseng for memory boost

They also brought back Steve Kloves who helped write much of the original 8 films so having him back will hopefully make this film feel more like the originals, which I feel (especially Crimes of Grindelwald) was lacking.

One of the reasons this will be better is because they hired Steve Kloves the original HP screenwriter! He actually knows what he's doing and can hopefully get this train back on the track.

I don’t understand the hate for Crimes of Grindelwald, I thought it was rather grown up and that’s an aspect I’ve been loving about these Fantastic Beast films… plus I love Newt and his Nifflers.

Right? Harry Potter also got progressively darker and complex than just a story of a kid who discovers a world of magic. The only difference is that one is a seven part series. Fantastic beasts was always going to be more than just a glorified Pokémon hunt, so I really don't get the complaints. It almost feels nit-picky.

They HAVE to show Dumbledore being in love with Grindewald in this movie. There's no excuse!!! This is all about Dumbledore and his secrets, if they still don't talk about him being gay, it will be too obvious that they're avoiding it!

The story was a mess in the 2nd movie, but I hope this 3rd one will have more Newt, Tina, Jacob, and Queenie in it. I care more about their characters and the beasts they chase down than whether or not the baby that was replaced or not on a boat actually drowned and whether a brother is actually a brother or not (The Credence story is something...)

To answer the question of where they are that Greg had, from what I understand the movie is set in 1930's Brazil, at least the majority of it I'd assume. There is a Wizarding School there by the name of Castelobruxo.

I’m sad that Eddie Redmayne/Newt seems to be getting sidelined throughout these movies. He was so great and amazing in the first movie, and it’s disappointing to me that they were so quick to change the overall story to this convoluted Dumbledore movie series. And where the HECK are Queenie and Tina??? Two sisters on different sides of an upcoming war but it gets dropped story wise? The issue of crimes of Grindelwald being so bloated was introducing a ton of new characters. But this movie seems to bring in new characters again? I’m just still very hesitant about this franchise.

If you go back to the press conference of the first movie, JK Rowling said that the fantastic beasts series won't focus on Newt unlike the HP series. Newt's story is the introduction leading up to the first wizarding war which is Dumbledore vs. Grindelwald. The actors know what they signed up for doing the series, i remember them saying they are willing to have smaller roles as the movies progress as long as they get to be part of the franchise and hopes Rowling may spoil to them on how the story progress.

So, I started following you for Star Wars, then Marvel. But you have no idea how excited I am to see you react to Harry Potter(ish) content! I am very hyped about this movie. I didn't have the issues with Crimes of Grindelwald that most people had, but I get their views. And just think, there will still be 2 more movies after this one! Unless it's in a flashback, I doubt we'll see any romance between Albus and Gellert. In fact, many don't believe Grindelwald ever had any real feelings for Dumbledore, but he was just acting in order to manipulate him. I completely agree, grinderwald portrayed here is so mild for my liking, he is an eccentric character that ooze charisma and followers follow him because of that. But here he is so mild and more restrained.

Fun fact: the very first actor who played Dumbledore(Richard Harris) actually believed that the Fawkes animatronic used for the Chamber of Secrets was real, and he still believed it was real even when he passed away.

On the one hand, I feel like Dumbledore is the one controlling Jacob's "wand" to mess with Grindelwald. On the other, I feel like they're going to use this to justify Umbridge hunting down muggleborns for "stealing magic" in book 7 in canon verse. Which is tragic, but something I'm absolutely HERE FOR. REAL WORLD WORLD CONSEQUENCES BABY.

I'd love to get you all to watch and react to the new show on Netflix "The Guardians of Justice". Seems that this may eventually be a cult classic. It seems very wrong, but feels and tastes well balanced and correct. Weirdly entertaining.

Never confirmed. Dumbledore loved him. There is nothing canon that says Grindelwald was not using him for power. As of now Grinfelwald’s romance options are open.

Harry tells Dumbledore that Voldemort went to see Grindelwald in prison, Grindelwald didn't betray Dumbledore about him having the wand, perhaps so he wouldn't go to his grave. Dumbledore has tears in his eyes.

A little suggestion for you : If you want to see a good movie that can make your whole body and mind shaking to its core, then I STRONGLY (and I repeat it again, STRONGLY!) suggesting you to see a movie called MIRACLE IN CELL NO 7. This movie is sooo good even I still can't move on from this one, and I personally think this movie is wayyy more touching than All Of Us Dead, Train To Busan, or any Korean movies and series that l've watched before. Another interesting fact is that the actor who played as Lord Cho Hak-ju in Kingdom is the main protagonist of the movie. I'm pretty sure as hell you will be totally shock to see his performance in that movie and also upset when you watch it. You don't believe me? Then go watch it for yourselves, I DARE YOU NOW! And now I'll be waiting for your reaction tho😎🤘

I love Mads. But Depp would have added something very special and unique to the role. One can not deny the off the charts star power Edward Scissor-hands/Jack Sparrow has.
