My hypothesis on why so many women authors write so many great manga/anime besides confirmation bias is because since they are women working in a male dominated industry in a specially misogynist country, their abilities were put into much more scrutiny compared with their peers of the opposite gender, so they had no ther option besides working really hard if they wanted to survive

That's prabobaly it but there are also preferences like most women usually don't tend to go for more shojo manga just out of preference but again a nother reason why they are successful is because there intelligent enough to understand who there target audience are unlike the western writers and of course via that they know what to write and they also understand when to ask for some criticism from people who are more nolageble on that stuff again unlike the west that's also why fullmetal alchemist had 2 young male mc dispide being writen by a woman and it wasn't done out of pure preference but because that was the kind of audience she was aiming for in the kind of series she was making

I think it's just confirmation bias. The manga industry is brutal just to get into, let alone prosper to any level in-- man or woman. Male mangaka already work themselves into hospital beds or graves-- by your logic, female mangaka should be popping out of this plane of existence. That said, I like some manga written by women because it feels like a TV drama or an old-ish Japanese woman doing a sock puppet theater play. Sometimes I just like gawking at what these women find appealing, or what they figure is appealing to other women-- until I started reading "Prince Freya", it never sunk in that young women, like young men, ALSO like the idea of being surrounded by attractive people of the opposite sex that will protect and/or kill for them.

The number of female original manga authors increased rapidly in the 1970s. Since the 1970s, the Shojo genre by female manga authors has expanded rapidly. In the 1980s, works by Rumiko Takahashi became popular in the Shonen genre. I think it would be more difficult to find someone in the current Japanese manga industry who says that because the original author is a man, it is good, and because it is a woman, it is bad. Incidentally, in myanlmelist's ranking of popular anime works, six of the top 15 are by female authors. *Works in a series shall be considered as one work.

The difference between female writer's in japan and female writers in the west female writers in japan know who there target audience are depending on what magazine there in and off course they write things that the average wrider of that magazine would like meanwhile from what I have seen female writers and let's be real most writers in the west try to sell some kind of political ideology in there work while not caring for the story I know that's not everyone but it's to many people for me not to get a little annoyed by it

Witch Hat Atelier, one of the manga I talk about this video, centers around the turmoil expressed by its protagonist when she discovers that anyone is capable of learning magic, but that the government purposefully controls who can and cannot use magic in order to keep people in hardship. FullMetal Alchemist, one of the most famous manga of all time, was written by a woman and it's a not so subtle commentary on the Iraq War. Writers from across the world have their political ideologies influence their work. Its not just mangaka either, look at game developers like Suda51, Yoko Taro, or Hideo Kojima. Guess the point I'm making is that it's not exclusively a western thing: everyone got politics and commentary.

@@Santanael really my problem with the west is that it olways hass somewhat of a biased against that type of stuff like for example one piece is a manga with strong political stuff in it but it never paints the marines completely evil and the pirates completely good and really that's what I like about it It gives me room to think while the west just saids don't think about anything else just fallow my way and it's so of putting at least to me ps cool video man

I get what you're saying and I appreciate it, I just reckon that (like you mentioned) it ain't always black and white. Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are some of the most acclaimed works of media in the world and a majority of the cast of both shows fall into that gray territory. The world is home to all sortsa media, written by folk from all types of backgrounds. Everyone got their own lives, opinions, etc. It's good to experience what ya can

@@Santanael yeah I understand that but I guess I didn't explain my argument really good but it's this wierd thing with recent writing in the west were the idiology and the message matter more then the story and the hole thing feels more like propaganda to me it's a little wierd

@@SantanaelThe elements for the Ishval worldbuilding were established before the Iraq War. Also, the Iraq War wasn't a systematic genocide of the Iraqi people, like the Ishval Civil War-- most of it was an attempt at nation building/widening the scope of American cultural hegemony.
