Honeywood gets 1000mm of rain yearly, bears three earth dams and includes 10ha of water rights. The temperature infrequently drops low enough to produce frost during the winter season.
Some buildings on Honeywood date back to the 1700s. There are eight self-catering cottages on the farm to accommodate guests, yet only three cleaners are employed to clean the cottages. The employees live on the farm.
Activities for the guests include horse-riding, hiking and cycling through the Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve. Children have a good time on the zipline suspended over a dam while the parents enjoy a relaxing braai.
