Congratulations! It is a beautiful house and you are not crazy, it is better to spend money to renovate this house than spending money on renting to have nothing at the end. Luce is such a delight, especially when she looks at the camera and starts a little conversation! Can’t wait to see the renovation videos.

@@leaw first of all let me start by saying thank you so much for this informative video. Also Luce is so cute and so bright. It wouldn't surpirse me if she turns out to be a genius. There were few things I didn't understand in this video. You said that usually the 1 euro houses needs to be renovated within a time period. But you don't have any time limit in this house. You also said that in this village you don't get houses for 1 euro, but then you said that you did buy this for 1 euro. So I'm a bit confused whether you bought this for 1 euro or not. And could you probably share how you found house like this and where to take part in the auction? that would be great

First time I saw Luce……I fell in love with this little angel. She is so well mannered and her smile and expressions are so priceless.

At a glance I would open the walls of the living room to the kitchen where you plan to have your daughter's room. Then I would build all the bedrooms downstairs to take advantage of the cooler air in the hot summer. I'd also put the laundry downstairs with the bedrooms and take that wall away next to the main entrance to open that space up so it's more inviting upon entering the home. Beautiful view from the balconies! Such a wonderfully quiet little village.

In 1987 my wife and I decided to expand and renovate our home. For eight months men with tool belts worked on our property while we still lived there. The end result was wonderful but the process was a nightmare. Any renovation always takes twice as long as you planned and costs twice as much.

I've never seen you guys before but as soon as you said, "We'll keep the tiles," I knew I like you. I'm so happy you said you'll keep all the old features of the house - thank goodness! So many people rip out all the best parts and replace it with neutral rubbish. I'm glad you'll honour and respect this stunning property. What an amazing find. The barrel vaulting, the thick walls, the balconies with the sea view - most attractive. For me, the most heartwarming sound in the village are the church bells. So soothing, so traditional.

What an amazing surprise. Luke and Sara are doing everything right. The tiles and the floring is a plus but the view out their windows/ deck are what dreams are made of. Living by the sea is something both Luke and Sara have talked about for a long awhile and now look at them. It will be interesting to tune in every week to watch their accomplishments. So happy for them and their little girl. To see Lucia walking down the cornerstone street was adorable.

Congratulations on the house….It’s a great idea to renovate this place and have a comfortable home base while you work on the olive grove. Amazing Village > Motta d'Affermo is a small and charming village which was founded in the ~ Middle Ages ~ 😃 Wow. During the reign of King Martin I > this ancient village was ruled by several local feudal lords.

Yay a place to stretch. I love that Luce is showing her own sense of agency, realizing that she can make her own things happen. And she is so part of your trio, she is starting to engage with the camera just like Mommy and Daddy. I wonder what she's trying to tell us... maybe about part of her experience at the 2 ft tall level. The cutest part was definitely watching her toddle down the alley. I am so glad that you guys got a place in town that has the amenities that you will need.

What an absolutely charming house, I love everything about it! Reusing the old tiles, windows and doors will keep the costs down and retain some of its history. I love the house and the tile. Im happy to see your planning to keep the doors and tile. The last Home i renovated was a 1945 WW2 Veterans home that was condemned and scheduled for demolition. Partly because Im a Military Brat & I love to fix things. I was able to convince the city to allow me to renovate it and it turned out beautiful. I also had to replace all the electrical and plumbing to modern standards but I was able to find all new real wood flooring the same as the original and I saved most of the original fir doors and found the last 2 1945 fir doors at a salvage store. I was also able to find all the Crystal knobs and hardware on the internet. Yall are my kinda crazy. I have a couple of videos of the Gentry house (the last house I renovated) on my channel if you want to see it.

This house has all the bones of a beautiful home. I can't wait to see the renovation. I love this vlog so much more now. You should ask Carlo and Nicki to be hosts at your house in Lucky land as a bed and breakfast so you can bring in income to fund these renovations. There would be so many people wanting to board at Luckyland and it would generate so much interest in both your projects and vlogs that it would pay them and you. The house has so many beautiful features. A lot of work needs to be done for sure but the house has so much potential. I am excited to see what you are going to do with it. A great place to stay on hot days when you aren't in the olive grove. Luce has a very special way with cats-I loved watching her interact with the kittens at the end of the video❤

What a lovely idea 1euro housing is! As you said it brings these villages back to life and is affordable for young couples to renovate over time. The house you bought still has many beautiful features that you can keep, while adding new features to make it your own. I was surprised that you bought another house, but I can totally see why. Makes good sense. Are you allowed to add extra windows to these old structures, if they look and confirm with the rest of the windows? It’s nice to have the children’s room next to your bedroom. That is such a quaint village close to your property, so finding this really great big home is really wonderful and good that you will get help getting the walls done! If they're eating bread that means they are either starving or undernourished and stray cats ...I hope there is a spaying and neutering program for stray cats there. It was so heartbreaking for me even as a child growing up in Indonesia to see all the stray and nearly-starving cats. I brought one home and begged my mother to keep it, but we didn't know she was already pregnant even though still a kitten herself. It was hard to find them homes because many of the Javanese people were struggling themselves and the westerners were often prejudiced against Indonesian cats because many of them have a strange genetic disposition that makes them look like they have broken tails. The world can be cruel sometimes.

I love all of your energy. When my husband and I inherited a little house with beautiful land going down to a river people thought we were crazy…it has one closet but the beautiful land makes up for ant flaws. I was holding my breath with the kitties but Luce was gentle. ❤❤❤

Luce is going to have a wonderful life growing up near the ocean and surrounded by incredible ancient history. She has so much personality and her love of animals is adorable. You can see she is trying to communicate with the camera when you guys are talking to the camera too.😂 The best part is she is healthy and happy with two parents who love her so much.
