I believe that egg was from a Brahma. They are good layers and great in the cold weather which we get a lot of in the winter!

While most folks know about the colour difference in the yolk, I doubt they understand the difference with the consistency of the yolk and white. Great video. Thanks for sharing.

Brown eggs are different then white eggs. Ask any farmers they will say there is a difference. So this comparison is not accurate at all. In store bought brown and white eggs you get the same. Store bought eggs the chickens are fed differently and even different grain which makes a difference also. Store eggs are older then fresh eggs. That makes a difference. Freeroaming chickens put out different eggs then a chicken coop kept chickens. Comparing apples to oranges proove nothing. I do agree fresh freeroaming chicken eggs are better for you then mass produced chicken coop eggs. But if someone is going to compare they should use the same style eggs.

We actually get both brown and white eggs from our chickens as we have different breeds. And you are incorrect. Both white and brown eggs from our chickens have firmer yokes and healthier white. And I am around many, many farmers who would disagree with your assessment. Appreciate the comment, but we will have to agree to disagree.

I made a mistake and made an ass of myself by speaking before researching. I see now that the color of the eggs do not make a difference. But what the chickens are fed do make a difference. Chickens in none mass production farms are fed different grains which can make a slight difference in the eggs. Nutritionally there is no difference only in flavor is there a difference. www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2014/02/difference-brown-white-eggs/
