That mud is just RIDICULOUS! Really well done. I can't imagine that much mass just drifting around in muck. Creativity, resourcefulness, and skill save the day. Thanks!

Quick question for ya. We are having a shitty winter here in central NY so i was wondering how the snow is up in your area? My brothers and i are itching to go riding and would love to explore Vermont trails. Maybe you could point us in the right direction Thanks

Mud, it isn't just after the snow anymore. Gotta laugh because getting pissed *really* sucks.

We laugh about it now. The first couple years of snaplage got us worked up but know we are used to those fields being wet every year

Few times in the years taking corn off late we would use a D8 for a pull unit ,makes things go slower
@802Farmers
@802Farmers Жыл бұрын
It does slow it down. That’s a big machine having to pull equipment. Lol

Instead of the "Deere Slayer" you need a "Massey Puller".

In the month of October we got over 8” of rain. After that it just never fully dried out. Definitely in these really wet fields we have. No we don’t have a extra brown Swiss for sale. Sorry. We only have a handful.

@@802Farmers I didn't know how many you had he was looking for 2 heifer calves for his boys to show I was going to house them for him I was going to give his boys each a jersey but he wants brown swiss there aren't any brown swiss in CT that I know of and I knew you were mostly Holsteins I don't think you have any milking swiss anyway and he wants registered anyway the only one in VT is Shelburne farms and I don't even know if they have registered cows

Why not wait until the field is dry enough instead of rutting up the field and making more work ?
@802Farmers
@802Farmers Жыл бұрын
We have farmed this land for over 20 year. At this time of year is never dries back up until spring. You can’t wait for it to freeze because we get snow before the ground freeze so it will destroy the corn.

you would spend less buying 4 decent wide rims and tyres for the wagons than the amount of diesel you are burning at full power all the time.
@802Farmers

Come buy them for us and I’ll happily use them. 👍🏻
@aaronjarvenpa1743

Not good just making more wear and tear on the equipment and rutting up the field. It would be better to just wait and save money .
@802Farmers
@802Farmers Жыл бұрын
The wear doesn’t bother us at all. It’s the whole point of having machines. We aren’t grain farming and babying are machines. We own them to use them not look at them. If we wait we loose money because snaplage isn’t grain corn. It need to be put in around 30-35% moisture. Any lower moisture and it doesn’t ferment good in the bunks and that’s what important. We till our land in the spring so we ruts will get fixed.
