7 жыл бұрынQuick Diagnois of the Charging System and Test of the Generator To Hopefully Solve my Charging Probe. One Important thing I Forgot to Mention, that is often overlooked is that the Generator MUST be Oiled every few months or so, depending on use.

Man I tell you, I dont know what it is about generators, but, its like freekin rocket science to me. You older dudes make it look so easy.

Remote generator cover , clean armature with brush stone or sandpaper to reseat brushes and make sure brush holders are working freely. Regulator is adjustable at tangs that hold springs, slightly bend tangs for air gap if needed. Should measure voltage output with volt meter . 6.9 or 7 volts

Glad they Helped. I still get Many Emails and Phone calls regarding the DB's I loved them and used them for Many Years but have Graduated to the Bigger Tractors.

Is your tractor set up with positive 6v ground?

Funny...Almost everyone I talk to about tractors , first thing they want to do is convert it to 12 volt and alternator???? If the Genny and Reg didn't work right they would NOT of lasted 50 +++ years. Same with the Magnetos. I think people are just afraid of stuff they don't understand and are too darn lazy to learn. Not saying the new stuff isn't good but it's NOT really Better in my opinion, not to mention, it depreciates the collector value$$$ ... HEY, WHO YOU CALLIN' OLD!!!
