As far as I know that is a bug and has been fixed in the latest patch v1.3

Its not hard. Fertilize for every stage of growth.

To get double your yield of crops, first fertilize your fields (slurry, manure or buy fertilizer your choice), plow your field, at this stage you are at 40% additional yield, fetilize again, now your at 70%, sow your crop of choice, fertilize one last time and your crops will yield 100% more or double what your field would have without fertilizing or plowing, each time you fertilize your crops it will yield 30% more, plowing your field will yield 10% more, after one field you must plow it or cultivate/sow/seed before you can fertilize again or you will waste fertilizer/money. most seeders, for example the seeder you start with in goldcrest (idk bout the other map, havent played it yet) do the first step of fertilizing at the same time as they seed the field and then you need to ferlize every growth state you can also press escape and go to the menu where you can see the growth state of a field, there are three types of blue that will indicate how wel lfertilized a field is. dont ferget to fill your seeder with solid fertilizer as well when you got one that can do both. when you hire workers and you enabled the option (its default) they will automaticly refill fuel for the tractors seeds for the seeder and fertilizer as well to the same level as when they started doing their job, provided you have some pallets of seeds and fertilizer somewhere (either at the shop or at your farm or in the middle of the freaking road if you want to)

Thanks for the replies guys. +James today I tried it in this order idk if got 100% yield: 1) plowed then fertilized before cultivating 2) fertilized with sowing 3) weeded the field in 1st growth stage 4) fertilized on 2nd stage. I got a lot of yield.

I think it's 500k liters for each crop for each of the 3 storages, and the 2 trains are also 360k each when you load all the wagons you can with crops, but that's just one type. So the entire train system storage capacity comes out to 1.5M of each crop + 720k extra of a crop of your choice.

mrpe0op that would be a helpful tutorial. Cause first time I used the train was to transport my beet harvest only to figure out later that I have to switch trains. Had to empty the harvest in a station silo then retransfer it to the other train to sell it.

I like moving large volume crops like beet/potato in train. I think one train car can fit 70k liters (don't quote me on that). If you connect three big tippers you get about 63k liters. Train would be free and you can sell the crop in one delivery before price drops. As Moose mentioned, train silos can store root crops too.

Actually, potatoes and beets are the most profitable crops in the game because you get the highest yield per area sowed...

Just switch seed type with the correct button (depends on the system you're playing on so look at the controls dialogue box). You don't have to fill with a specific type of seed.

Thanks for following up with me on this mate... Yes I use that also I'm on the PC only so I believe the default key is Y using the keyboard... So it looks there is no way to unload the sower of the remaining residual seeds... It appears it's the same for the fertilizer also, we can't unload whatever is in it... I was just curious if there is a way to do it... Thanks much for all your work on making those tutorials... well done mate...

No! That's probably the least efficient way to do it, in my opinion.

U will juet sell them as normal like wheat :)

If you don't want to mess with them yet you can just cultivate over them. Otherwise, harvest them and store them for when you get pigs.
