The plow should be adjusted so that the bottom of the moldboard is almost parallel to the bottom of the implement at digging depth. The tractor will pull it easier, and the plow will turn over more dirt/grass in a single pass. There are a lot of plowing how-to's on youtube - the same principle applies to this small Brinley as it does to larger single bottom plows for big tractors.

I am impressed with the performance of the tractor you are using and the plow is equally as great at plowing and did a fine job with cutting that area you are going to put down a line in.

Good review of the cute little Brinly plow and little tractor! I understand why you had it adjusted for the work you were doing, I also agree that in it's intended use for plowing soil, the landside bottom of the plow should be running parallel to the furrow's bottom. Plowing at that unatural angle puts huge stress on the plow frame, which could result in a 'sprung' plow......everyone is an expert are they not?......retired Michigan dairy farmer here.....ps... now I gotta get me one too ! lol

Good video and would consider buying one of these now. I have been using a subsoiler on my regular tractor, but it doesn't clear the trench and a 3 point plow is far more than I need. I have the electric sleeve too, so this will work great for drain and irrigation line! Not sure why the couple of expert farmers here were giving you a hard time "for not using your plow properly" when you clearly indicated you were intentionally doing so and merely trying to get the deepest trench that you could and not trying to turn the earth for ag purposes. Awesome tool, doesn't matter if it wasn't specifically designed to dig trenches, the fact of the matter is it did what You wanted it to do. At 5:55 the sod plops right back in. Is there a way to make sure the soil turns over and stays over? I bought a similar set up after watching Eric's videos (thanks for that) and I like the relatively inexpensive set up like that, But I just wish the sod would stop falling back in after the plow had gone through. I have a vid of my plowing on my channel to show how that happens.

One thing that's important is that needs a good heavy duty lawn tractor to pull it, try to pull that behind a lawn tractor and it will eat the transaxle fast. The Husqvarna GT52 is about perfect

With your plow if you go faster it will be able to turn the dirt all the way over then when you make your next pass on the left side the dirt will go into the other trench and mix it in really good. Hope that made sense and that is helps

Interesting use of the plow. Never thought of using one for a trench like that. I’ve been considering picking one up for my JD 214. I have a model 31 tiller for it but knowing that where I’ll be tilling will be virgin ground it might not be a bad idea to hit it with a plow first.

We have hard clay for soil, so we had to adapt this tiny thing to a three point hitch on a much bigger tractor

It may be your intention but the landslide should sit flat in the furrow and slide against the vertical uncut earth. If of course that is adjustable to do that.

That plow share is way to lose. I see your digging a trench, but don't let people believe that the correct way to use a moldboard, it is way out of adjustment. The tail bar should sit level down in the furrow. If the tip of the share is set right it will pull itself into the ground and level off, downward pressure is not needed.

Works great! I am looking to purchase a new Husqvarna TS348XD here in a few weeks to add to my fleet. I manage a big housing development and other properties as well year round. I have always purchased Garden Tractors and not lawn mowers as they just plain work and last much longer for the investment. I have 2 GT's right now and a new in 2018 Kubota Z725 60" commercial Z turn. I always have a need for a GT. Well my good old 1986 John Deere 318 with the Onan engine is burning quite a bit of oil and is due for a rebuild or repower. My other is my 1977 IH Cub 1650 which is my do it all odd job tough little tractor. Still running strong to this day. I need a good GT for mowing in some places where its just to dangerous with s Z turn and much easier on my expensive Z turn not putting it in bad situations. For the price of the new Husky with the K66eld and the 24hp Kawasaki FR730 series for aroubd 3K is a bargain in todays world. A new JD570 is almost double that price and not worth it to me..Although they are nicer machines...its not twice tge price nicer! Lol...My only worry with the TS 348 XD is the frame but if flexing is severe and past warranty I can beef it up myself. All GTs are quite similar anyhow basically as they outsourcre tge same engines and trans and just build them and put their name on it...I would gladly pay more for the Husky if they were to add power steering and hydraulic hookups. Maybe they wilk offer it someday. I also have a Kubota RTV1100 with a curtis hydraulic snowplow and use it for all our property and others. Awesome hydraulic strong dumo bed as well. I fill it with the FEL on my Ford 3910 with stone or mulch etc all the time. Hoping tge new Husky TS treats me right and thanjs for the videos as it helped me make up my mind to buy one.

After watching your video, I bought the plow but my Husqvarna 24 HP (YTH24K48) won't pull it. I am trying to break the ground for cultivating grains in the back of my large lot. I have spread a lot of sand on the yard, so the soil is not hard. But the wheels keep spinning when the plow is engaged, but runs without an issue when plow is pulled up.

I paid 20 bucks for a single plow that was part of a 3 blade plow from a farm tractor implement. Its a hoss though. Haven't used it yet but i will soon.

The moldboard plow might save your tiller from being severely damaged. I struck a ledge with my 6' PTO driven tiller, nearly damaging it. I'm going to make a 3 point attachment tractor hook-up for my moldboard plow. I would never put a tiller into new soil again without first breaking it up with a plow.

Please, read the manual that came with the Brinly plow, set it up the way they say, adjust and operate it the way they say. They do not need any down pressure to work, even for doing a trench like in your Video.

Form the looks of things your moldboard is way out of adjustment. The tail should lay flat in the furrow as it is pulled along. I suppose it still did as you wanted ,if it's adjusted you would have a cleaner ditch

Where did you learn how to plow?,, ITS not even set right!.......You need to look up how a plow works before you show others.
