Hi! I'm Lina and I'm a trans woman. I've recently joined a few trans communities where I found a lot of questions other trans women have: I'll try my best to help where I can.
This video is about my experience at maximizing passing by carefully considering my wardrobe.
I apologize for the technical difficulties: for different levels of brightness and discrepancies in the lighting, for the noise of my mic and especially for 30 second of camera being out of focus 😥. I will work on improving it for future videos

Qneetza -- Thank you for some excellent advice to achieve balance by using outfits which minimise broad shoulders, large rib cages and narrow hips for trans women, to help them pass

I would like to applaud you for supporting your kid. I am not Trans myself, however my cousin is in the mtf process. His parents are not very supportive and it is very depressing to see.

I feel like you don't have much to worry about, fashion-wise. Your body shape works well with all of the outfits you showed. I think most trans women (myself included) are going to have a much harder time finding flattering outfits. That's where supportive friends and family (particularly cis females) come in handy. But then, I'm "out" as trans. Unfortunately, if a trans person isn't "out" that can make life pretty difficult. I've often wished there were local classes or something to provide tips customized for individuals.

Yeah, I’m a biological woman with a 22” shoulder width. The average width for men in the US is 16”. Even when I was 20 lbs below my ideal body weight I was still a size 12/14. I could have been in a concentration camp and still be a “plus-sized “ woman. I’m 5’ 10” with a deep voice and I’m naturally feminine. We come in all sizes.

I dated a woman in college who was a swimmer in high school and she had shoulders like a linebacker; she was BUILT! She was also gorgeous and constantly had guys asking her out. Beauty is not determined by a specific structure or shape. Every person is different and has their own style and shape. Some people are attractive despite not having an “ideal” shape; and a lot of it is attitude and personality.

For reference, I’ve found it’s generally better to refer to yourself as cis rather than biological! Also, I second the points Keir made & remember to stay hydrated!

Girl, at no point in the video did I 'clock' you and think you looked like a man. I pray, sincerly, that when I finish my transition (which I haven't started yet) that i can pass as well as you. You look fantastic. Besides passing, you look good. Your outfits and makeup suite you very well.

(1) Out of curiosity, what country did you relocate from? And in what country are you living now? Your English is very good. You sound European. (2) I'm a baby-boomer who's accepted in a MTF HRT program at a health center so I can transition to living full time as a female. The culture has finally shifted to where you don't have to fear for your life, get arrested or in general, get harassed wherever you go. Even dressing gender-neutral at only 4 months of transitioning, I've incurred no problems in today's American society. (3) Did you have an occupation or job skill that would translate MTF so you could continue to earn a living. I've been active in the trans community for 25 years. TGurls who were moving forward 'no matter what' lived in what I termed 'a gender ghetto'. No matter what their education, they could only get menial jobs, perhaps as a bartender at a gay-bar or a clerk at a convenience store. Professionals (one I knew was a surgeon, the other was an IT specialist for a large corporation) lost their jobs immediately after they had GRS surgery and announced it (a) to the partners who had their LLC practice's lawyer draw up a buyout agreement effective immediately and presented to the surgeon the moment she returned from Thailand where s he had her GRS done, and (b) even though the IT specialist worked openly and sincerely with the company's HR department who 'talked the talk about inclusion' etc., and the company was unionized and she had the union's LGBT rep attend the discussion meetings in the HR office to facilitate, she was miraculously 'laid off' 2 days after her GRS surgery while still recovering in her hospital room in Montreal, where she chose to have her surgery performed. Those are merely 2 of the horror stories I heard about 25 years ago amongst those 'in the community' who I knew well. (4) I enjoy your video's. At my age, too many video's are filmed by very young MTF HRT trans-girls. Their viewpoints seem to be a combination of the "trans fetish" lifestyle typical of the 'tranny community' which has been around for decades and the world a 'real women' to which (at least I) hope to blend in and join as an unobtrusive woman merely living my life as I want to. I'm not a 'gender' social justice warrior or an LGBT... alphabet soup 100 gender ideologue who live to flaunt their social beliefs (and tend to be very young). (5) Thoughts on your voice training would be interesting. (6) Thought on estrogen, spiro, etc, and mood changes, physical/mental changes would be interesting On the internet, you can hear just about 'any answer' you wish to hear. Rather than readying about generalities, I'd like to hear about your experiences (7) Do you have any long-term plans as a full time trans-woman? Personal? Professional? I'm curious as to the mindset of trans-women who have 'taken the journey' and care to reflect back upon what they went through. Thanks for reading this.

I think you look great in turtlenecks. You have a very natural look, both make up and breast size, which makes you pass so well. If I may make a suggestion for your future videos, I would like to see the head to toe look, including the shoes. It would give more sense of the proportions. Also, it may be controversial, but I think that the long cardigans are starting to look a bit dated. The cropped cardigans are huge, even though they might have a more boxy look.
