These days I prefer the all JRPGS have such a option but the Dragon quest games still required the spell/item that allows it.

Fast travel should be a late game unlock for games like Skyrim. Why are you gonna underpay a bunch of people to design caves and camps when 90% of players are just gonna skip them with fast travel.

@@roguedovah7980 thats a interesting opinion I think it could work and I agree with players missing areas, but the amount of frustration of going back through area is such a pain I don’t think it’s worth it Interesting idea thought!

Kingdom Deliverance must be pretty immersive; you even have a sneeze meter. jk

Morrowind in my opinion has the most immersive fast travel besides the mages guild because obviously magic teleportation doesn’t exist it’s how people get around in the real world using public transportation so it feels like it belongs

I play Fallout with a Nukacola Quantum fast travel. It makes finding them more exciting and while I probably have a few I will still consider if I really want to use it

The carriage dude is optional. It's just a mechanic thrown in for certain kind of players. I explore the map throughout the game.
@zeldasattic15284 күн бұрын
@@chazzx1018 same But just because a system is optional didn’t mean it’s a good system Thanks for commenting!

Yeah I didn't even learn about the carriage until my third Skyrim playthrough lol I do agree it is an unnecessary system

@@zeldasattic1528 optional doesn't make it bad or good. It's your choice to use it. Whether something is bad or good is merely an opinion, not a fact.

@@chazzx1018 Yes... but having a poor mechanic in your game and going with the argument, Its optional doesnt really change anything you're half right thought
@chazzx10184 күн бұрын
@@zeldasattic1528 how's it a poor mechanic? There is plenty of time to get to know the map. Just because I don't use it, doesn't make it bad or good. I'm completely right.

I got to say I'm of the opposite opinion on this one buddy. I think that being allowed to teleport from anywhere in the map cheapens the experience. Breath of the wild is actually a great example because fast travel robs people of their situational awareness. Not that there's much to find in Breath of the Wild.
@zeldasattic15284 күн бұрын
@@parazoecial it’s diffintly a system that can work for everyone Kinda cool to see how people can have the complete opposite opinion of mine Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Here's a really good question is fast travel diegetic?
@zeldasattic15284 күн бұрын
@@quatreraberbawinner2628 my brain is to small to understand that word
@ssssssppppaaaccceeee4 күн бұрын
I think it can be for some games. In games where it is performed by magic or is explained in-world like zelda or the souls games it feels pretty diegetic. But I don't think the systems in Bethesda RPGs really feels the same. I'm supposed to believe that I trekked all the way through the ruins of Boston past super mutants and shit any time I fast travel around the map in Fallout 4? And of course, I didn't use any ammo or healing items while traveling. It doesn't feel natural, but it does work well from a gameplay perspective.

@@ssssssppppaaaccceeee ok here's another question, are scene Transitions in movies diegetic? because it's essentially the same thing
