Hey, I’ve been a fan of your videos for a long time, but I feel like the quality is not as good as before. I wish you would review more relevant and interesting stuff. It seems like you are only focused on sponsors. I don’t want to unsubscribe from your channel, but I’m getting tempted to do so. There are so many new and exciting laptops that you could review, like the new Hp omen, Hp victus, Dell xps, Alienware, Lenovo slims, Hp specre and envy. Or you could compare them with the new Apple macbook m1 pro max ultra etc. That would be awesome. But your videos are becoming boring, and I’m starting to watch other channels instead

@@sifonytlive Dude, comparisons to Apple are very boring. Apple can only do audio/video/coding. But you are right about the sponsorship, all of Jared's videos are sales-oriented. Moreover, the price does not match the quality. Previously, laptops with a 3060 and a huge performance boost were sold for $1000, now they are trying to sell the same two-year-old performance for the same price. It's terrible. Jared has stooped to being a salesman.

On my country,Acer has launched the 16' one with a few changes on the specs,it's a 120w 4050,a 100% sRGB screen with the same resolution from the model you've talked about in the video with a higher refresh rate,165hz, and an i7 13700H. I want to buy a laptop with a 3060,but,a 4050 will get more longevity in the long term,I think,and even though is expensive,it might be more worthwhile. A brazilian youtuber had mentioned you on some videos and I came to your channel.

@@byronmendoza6477 On my country,I think the Predator Helios Neo it's slightly better,because it has an i7 13700X and the webcam it's FHD. The graphic card is the same as the Nitro,but,Acer doesn't show the power on the website. The panel's fresh rate and size are the same,too.

If you live in America the Acer nitro 17.3 in is probably your best bet it's going for 1199 on micro center it just sold out but wait till it comes out again it's has a4060 with a 17 13 th gen and a Qhd g sync enabled screen

@@jays2825 if you put power saving mode, laptop would have low temperatures, therefore quiet fan noise. But why would you play roblox on gaming laptop? You can play roblox on integrated graphics.

They're trying to sell you the same performance from two years ago for the same price. There are discounts on laptops with 3060s, sometimes you can buy them for $600-$800. Wake up. Nvidia has chip stockpiles for more than 220 days ahead, so we're waiting for discounts.

Acer Nitros are few of the best budget machine to release. It's better in most features for it's price, but not more. At least the updated design keeps the components cooler. Overall a great budget device. Definitely get it if you want an affordable gaming machine.

@@MegaLoquendo2000 depends on the games you play. If it's casual shooters or MOBA 6GB VRAM should suffice. AAA titles will struggle a bit and it'll probably be between medium and high. As long as you don't RT it should be enough for playing with mid settings. Don't need too much VRAM too enjoy games.

@@GianMelendres-if7ph The new entry level gaming laptops from MSI (Cyborg and GF63) has sht cooling. Cyborg and GF63 has only 1 fan, which is bad already as it is. Its better to get the mid range ones like the Stealth Series or higher

It was a suprise that the Acer Nitro laptops are now splitted into 3 models with this being the last one of the original Acer Nitro 5 laptops. But I really wonder how good the Acer Nitro V 15 would be since this is now the entry level gaming laptop while the 16/17 are now mid-range.

I'm quite supriced it's so much faster than 2021 version with rtx 3060 80-95w. I know rtx 3060 need to be over 100w to beat 4050(if both same power lvl), but that diffrence is still large.

I bought my Acer Nitro 5 from Walmart on Black Friday last year for $650. It has a 95w RTX 3060 and in this chart is only 12 frames slower than the marginally better 4050 and 140w RTX 3060. I put in 32gb of dual rank dual channel RAM from TimeTec for $75 that uses a 3200mhz CL22 JDEC profile stock out of box since XMP is locked down in BIOS.(CL16 if XMP is accessible). TimeTec is an American based company that uses chips from reputable sources like Samsung, Micron, SK Hynix, etc. I added a 1TB WD SN570 M.2 NVME SSD for $70 that had better load times than any other similarly priced storage including Samsung 980. It had lower sustained write speed but I'm not gonna be writing huge amounts of data on a gaming laptop. Altogether I spent $800 and got Ryzen 5600H, 95w RTX 3060, 32gb dual rank dual channel CL22 3200mhz RAM, 1.5TB WD M.2 NVME storage, 144hz 1080p IPS display, and RGB keyboard. I was also able to purchase 3ys accidental protection that includes spills and drops for another $79 through Walmart insurance plan that uses Allstate for insurance claims.

Good luck to you one or two years down the road. ASUS have been cheap-ing out for the past few years and the 2022 version has already seen numerous complains of screen issues or just mobo failure after warranty ended.

I got the Acer 5 17.3 inch it's on sale on micro center I bought the MSI katana the screen was just not good enough and for two hundred dollars more I get a Qhd screen and a 13th gen i7 instead of a 12th gen i7 double the storage and double the battery life with the same 4060

I have the same laptop but with 3050 but the single core score never drops even if i disconnect the charger idk whats wrong with this unit 5:44

Hello Jarrod. I'm thinking of getting the asus tuf a15 ryzen7 6800hs with 3060(6Gb) but I'm also inclined towards the new acer predator helios neo 16 with i7 13th gen and rtx 4050(6Gb). There aren't many reviews about it so idk if it'd be a good pick yet. P.s : this would be my first gaming laptop,I'll be doing college work(coding) and i also intend to do content creation with this so it'd be really helpful if you can give me some advice soon :))

I got the Nitro 17 for $850 very recently so with you saying this I don’t regret the purchase. I have a pretty feasible desktop build but this is my first “gaming” laptop

Man I was just watching this video for the 3rd time (been doing a lot of research) it is a great deal at $949 from new egg, and the performance reviews. This was after a lot of research into laptops. I decide to buy this. Now I check his list the Acer nitro 5 2022 QHD with 3070ti 8gb vram, AMD 6800H 16gb of DDR5, 1TB nvme, on sale at Best Buy for $999. Yo I legit just returned another laptop I was doing research on to see how well it ran D4 (good btw) at best but yesterday. My god if I saw that deal I probably would’ve ordered it right there, instead of the nitro 5 12500, 4050 6gb, 16gb ddr5, 512 nvme, that I just ordered like 2 hours ago. Considering canceling my order now lol! Does have a 30 day return. Those may be gone by then at that price.

Are the 4050-70 GPUs worth considering purely for frame gen?

I think the 4050 & 4060 are decent for the low to lower mid-range gaming laptop market. The 4070 on the other hand, I would avoid. I would either go for at least a 4080, saving up for one, or drop down to a 4060 and save some money (assuming the GPU power limit is "maxed out").

No they are not, best to go with a better 30 series than a 4050,60 or 70. He just made a video about it.

It depends on if frame gen is in the games you play (or will play when released) and the price difference between new 4000 series or a 3000 series on sale. IF not much of a jump in $, Jarrod has said he'd go for 4000 because frame gen has been a gud feature for him (and to get latest hardware/features in general). But again, IF it's in the games you play 😅

@Matt (CodgerFace) I agree. 3080, 3080 Ti or 3070 Ti would be good for those who are playing games without DLSS 3 or if you're buying a Lenovo Legion laptop. If however, you are buying a laptop with a full redesign and/or more than just a spec bump, then it may be worth it to go with the newer model.

Can't wait for it to arrive at my country with a slight 30% price hike, its vram pool of 6gb seems like a risky purchase nowadays, with the ps5 pro/series whatever coming soon, future games will be more demanding (obviously) aside from being optimized more poorly, the latter being the bigger problem, I for once praise AMD for putting 16gb on a 500 dollar card; poor rtx 3070 and 3080 buyers
