Seems really simple but Wesley Morris is really good at asking people "Why?" In this pod it's usually just after someone says something that they loved about it and he genuinely wants to know what parts in movies people are lured towards and what makes them that way

Glenn Close low key is one of the greatest actresses of all time. I remember her guest starring on The West Wing and she stole every scene she was in, which is something considering the amazing cast they had. Tremendous presence.

It's because he is so domineering and can't stand other people talking for more than 5 seconds, that he physically tries to shut her down. It's honestly so cringeworthy. He seems like a smart guy with good points, but he needs a little self-awareness in how he behaves on this podcast and let other people speak.

The original ending of this movie didn’t provide the “Bang‼️” the story had built. It was a certainly more nuanced conclusion but the ending we see is what further sells the movie.

I didn’t even realize Wesley’s point until he said it - there’s no more sex in movies. I thought it was just the MCU like Sean & Chris talked about a few months ago. But it’s all movies. More violence, no lovin’. Weird.

The beginning of the movie hints at some complexities that are completely dropped in favor of cheap violence at the end. I think the could have been so much more than what it became at the end. It also didn't do the character of Alex Forrest any injustice in the end. The writing quality completely falls apart.

Can't understand the Anne Archer worship. She's such a cutesy, stuffy-nosed, Keds-wearing, frizzy-permed, bleary-eyed soccer mom...who finds that "sexy"? She was born to make toddlers PB&J and to be pleasantly scandalized by her husband's lame jokes about his coworker's sex injury - "you guys are so baaaad!" UTTERLY unsexy...which is maybe what does it for some people.

first good episode. Mr. Morris brought fire to the conversation. I'm going to say what every single person hearing this episode and everyone on the panel regarded the single most cringe moment. When the guy here admitted to letting his young daughter watch this film. That kid is scarred for life. No i'm not being flippant. To say the blatantly obvious that's not responsible parenting, in the slightest. So dad is a write-off, that's clear. The big question is where's mom when her daughter is being allowed to watch this horror movie? Prior to this revelation the host was just someone with a critically short supply of testosterone. It's a whole other ball of wax now. Dude you have to get a clue. Parenting classes for you and your lucky wife, at the very very least. Your daughter deserves far better.
