The catalyst relic for summoning Archer was the pendant. Of course Rin couldn't know it, because Shirou's connection with the pendant starts when she uses it to heal him, and that is after Archer is summoned,...it's time mindfuckery xD

you got the point perfectly but what he is its not supposed to be able to be summoned he is not exactly a normal servant but it will get explained later but what allow him to be in this war is the pendant

I was going to drop this in the next episode, but since you girls already figured it out - Remember the short clip at the end of episode 7, the one Shirou was injured by Archer and escaped from the temple? There was a clever foreshadowing that Shirou saw a window reflect himself and punched it only to make him hurt even more.

Btw the reason archer has white hair and darker skin is because he overused his magic circuits which literally burnt his skin and made him lose pigmentation in his hair

I'm glad you figured it out. poor Rin She saved some silly kid using a pendant that stored 10 years of mana power. The first command seal to inadvertently stop Archer from doing something. The second command seal to stop someone from attacking someone. The third command seal was broken by some stupid person just to do something stupid!(you know) She did was to keep someone alive. The reason for this nonsense!!All because there are always people in this world who want to start a war or destroy the world, and someone is trying to save everyone every time!!! cause someone to despair... No matter what anyone says, I love Archer.

I will explain How he is summoned but i will have to only explain half of the setup for now as there is more that is explained later. As people mentioned Archer had the pendant, Rin's Pendant. Rin used it to save Shirou's life (a HUGE connection for fate magic), Shirou picked it up and carried it on him his entire life and died. So when he became a Heroic Spirit / Guardian he still has the Pendant on him as he carried it all his life. The big special point to make here though is this... Rin can ONLY summon Archer as her Servant since they have such a deep connection, it is impossible for her to summon any other servant. Her saving Shirou's life permantly bound them for all eternity. When you get down to it, she is responsable for the Heroic Spirit EMIYA existing. (Archer's name outside this war is Heroic Spirit EMIYA) There is more but ill wait a few eps to explain the rest because its even more layers of shenanigans going on.
