why are you so brain dead when watching these fate movies, why didnt u use ur rezero brain cells when looking deep into the themes. you just say "darkest anime movie ever made" when u dont even pay attention to what makes it the darkest. u only looked into the surface level stuff and all u waited for was the action

I love anime no matter what, but the dubs to these, in my opinion, are SO masterfully done, that I actually preferred them over the sub versions, due to the enormous weight of raw gut-wrenching emotions that you can feel in every damn scene that the dub cast poured into them. I mean #kariwahlgren gave me MAD SHIVERS when #saberalter is introduced. I mean, just check out this dubbed version and tell me you didn't have the same reaction. So, would you consider reacting to the dubs as well?

In VN, if you fail conversation with Rider before final battle, Shirou will have to face Salter alone, which results in one of the most epic fights in series - High Liner Sparks ending.

Rider trying to convince Sakura to not go down the dark path, and trying to stop her is so heartbreaking when you know Medusa's story. She was a normal lady for the most part, living alone on an island with her sister to not be a problem to others, but people treated her like a monster and came to kill her. In the end, she was consumed by darkness and became Gorgon, killing the two sisters she loved and wanted to protect. Just like how Sakura was about losing herself, which would result in killing the two person she loved (Shirou and Rin).

wasntit that she got raped in a god's temple (athena or poseidon depending on sources) so the gods turned her into a monster to punish her (because yeah punish the victim, although in athena,s case it was to "protect her" but she ends up dying anyways)

@@pejman3 Yes - the tale put by comment OP is Medusa's story in the Nasuverse whereas yours is the Greek Myth - Medusa was a priestess of Athena who was chased by Poseidon for her beauty, she ran to the Temple of Athena for protection but Poseidon violated holy sanctuary and raped her in that temple. Athena, either by being unable to punish Poseidon directly as he was Zeus' brother and her uncle or because she felt it was the best way to protect Medusa, turned her into a Gorgon whose gaze turned people to stone. I'm more ascribed towards the former since Greek Mythology has a lot of blaming the victim - Heracles, Arachne, Medusa, Medea, etc.

@@cainyourkids Yeah I learned about greek mythology in school but it's fate that made me "hate" it. (By that I mean how fucked up the stories are and how the victims get punished on top of being abused). Medusa Medea heck even heracles they all deserve headpats and a good hug (heracles would probably squeeze me to death tho). Same with Caenis in FGO. 90% of greek myths is people getting fucked over by the gods and the 10% are the gods favorites fucking other people over.

52:55 Movie kinda did not really good job in showing it, but after using arm Shirou`s mind is quite literally melting from being overwhelmed by Archer`s power. He is losing memories, so from this point he is trying to stay awake all the time afraid that if he falls asleep he won`t be able to recognize everyone around after waking up.

FACTS! Thank you for bringing this very important information up! I believe it's so crucial to Shirou's character arc, but for whatever reason they left that out and some things were a bit too quick and short when it came to character arcs and subplots, that deserved deeper explanation's than just the surface layer BS. Now don't get me wrong, I love the majority of the anime adaptation of #fatestaynightheavensfeel trilogy, but #fatestaynightheavensfeellostbutterfly did not peak like it should've. I mean yes we get more stunning fight scenes, but for the most part, it DID NOT live up to or surpass the first installment, #fatestaynightheavensfeelpresageflower. There just wasn't any "build-up," which in turn, hurt the "epic finale" that just didn't happen in the third and final installment, #fatestaynightheavensfeelspringsong. Well, I think my rant there makes as much sense as the second movie, but there it is.

@@gabsterrivera5674 Shirou`s magic training before War was compared with putting molten metal rod in his spine, so I can`t say that intence physical pain is new for him. And even then, Archer`s arm was really painful for Shirou. But in anime you can barely see it.

LUKE, DON'T LOOK TOO MUCH AT CHAT!!! You missed the scene of Sakura's smile at the end because you were looking at chat. Pause before looking, otherwise you risk to miss some pretty and important details. AND CHAT, WAIT THE END OF SCENES BEFORE EXPLAIN!!! Otherwise Luke will miss some important things!! What I like in this final scene of the film are Sakura's eyes. They changes from cold and dead, without even their pupils and with that strange violet color, to a very beatiful and warm ones, returning with time to their original color and with their pupils back, saying that she's been "recovering" from her past and that she is going on in life. And this detail isn't in the VN (I checked few times to make sure). They did a very good job with this and I love it.

Rider vs Saber Alter is what i call, the BEST fight in anime history. Fun Fact, the animator who did this, animated to the (i believe) 32nd layer, where is it is claimed to be impossible to pass the 16th. ( i may have mixed up the numbers but you get my drift). He literally did the humanly impossible for this, because Ufotable and Type Moon love each other. and can we all Agree, Kirei's Voice Actor is literally the best. Dude has what i call, the God voice. no pun intended.

Woman that gave Shirou is new body appears in Kara No Kyoukai and in the upcoming Witch on the Holy Knight, she also appears in Tsukihime which doesn't have an anime adaptation. She is an often reoccuring Type Moon character. The person that oversaw the ritual to make the Holy Grail for the War also is an important character that appears/has a role in various works.

Its a shame that Ufotable didn't adapt one of the best monologues of the Shirou vs Kirei fight or the scene were Illya was singing but overral the trilogy was good. Also, Kara no Kyoukai is a good one too, for me the best of Ufotable with Fate/Zero, maybe at the end you don't understand almost anything of The Garden of Sinners but that's normal XD.

Can you really blame Sakura for not knowing about mage history? A pit full of flesh and mana eating worms isn't exactly the best place for history lessons... and when Shinji came to her room at night, he didn't have tutoring her on his mind either... Not that I think anyone outside the the Tosaka family would have much information on Zelretch to teach in the first place. After saving Sakura, Shirou can't say "Rider," because he can't remember her name... using Archer's arm is destroying his body and mind and his memories are lost bit by bit. It isn't clear whether he got the lost memories back, upon his soul being turned into a solid object by Illiya, but I'd like to think so. It'd be rather depressing to think he can't remember the majority of his life anymore, even in the "happy" end of this route. Oh speaking of which, the anime doesn't make it entirely clear: In the end Illiya - thanks to direct access to the grail - was able to use the third magic Heaven's Feel to turn Shirou's soul into a solid object. So his body died, but his souls survived and was later put into a specially designed artificial body. The one thing I hate about this movie is, that to the very end, Sakura keeps calling Shirou only senpai and not once calls him by his name. But hey, at least I can head-canon for myself, that she finally did so in the silent moments of the montage at the end. :P If you want some proper depression, look up "Cherry Blossom Dream," the sad ending of the Heaven's Feel Route.

Since in the VN there is an order in wich you have to play the routes , Nasu decided that a route would develope the character as its own story but at the same time establish the stage for the next routes thats why you prefer in terms of writing the one that goes after the rest

1:34:31 And this is where i cried in the cinema. . like, i know Saber didn't have much story or bonds with both Kiritsugu & Shirou in the newer adaptations (Zero, UBW and HF) but she still holds a special place in the hearts of many FSN fans since their first anime (2006 ver.). She was literally the legendary first love and seeing her died like that in the hands of Shirou, her supposed beloved man is very. . painful. In the VN version, there's also a more detailed about what Shirou felt when he's killing her. He said that half of himself also died along with Saber at that point. It just shows how much she meant to him & how painful the decision that he made.

I recommend checking out Kara no kyokai/ The garden of sinners. It’s more or less in the same universe as Fate. You’ll get to find how Shirou gets his new body by a certain mage in that series.

There is an alternative timeline where he doesnt kill sabir. Then sha captures him and Rin and they a forced into like a blackhole of torment forever, , , But the last 'Shirou' by her is heartbreaking. Atleast in the Manga Shirou does eventually find her in avalon and finds artoria. Original timeline

If you want to see more of Gilgamesh you should check out Fate Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia. You will see a different side of Gilgamesh (being on the side of good) and the show is fantastic.

@@evanmiller4502 As far as I know, there are 7 Movies to the main Story, an 8th movie thats based on a side story that was not in the main books, but a seperate side story. And than there seems to be an OVA, that seems to be the epiloge dialoge, which seems to be more of a info drop, which helps to understand a few things, but adds not really to the mainstory, and since it seems to be an info drop, I already should know it from the books (Which I should read again, reading them was more than 10 years ago. And a short film, which also contains side storys.

Why are You supposed to care about them? Why does Shirou do what He did? What Happend to Miyu? Why does Julian want Miyu? What's the Deal with the Ainsworth? What Happend to Shirou? The Movie EXPECTS YOU TO KNOW THAT. If You can't sit through Prillya then You frankly DON'T DESERVE OUS. Prillya is easily one of THE BEST Fate Series. Some of the BEST WRITING, OST AND FIGHTS

the old guy is basically a spirit possessing a swarm of insects at this point, so physical attacks wont work, but exorcism does also at the end of zero we learn kirei doesnt have a beating heart anymore so that's why assassin's technique failed finally the reason rulebreaker worked is basically angra mainyu is a servant and sakura was his master and through that link was he able to posses/manifest so rulebreaker broke the master/servant link

Unlike Fate Zero, Fate stay night is a story with three ends, Saber -> Rin -> Sakura, story line linked in that order. Unfortunately only the last two got animated by Ufotable, the first part only has an old version animation.

You said it, one of the best writings and that's why it's such a shame to pass on it just because it's locked behind a series. What I'm thinking was just to show him ous shirou and not bother with the show, or chat can explain while watching

@@4rch0711 Oh Please, Prillya isn't that bad. Just because the Girls are shown naked sometimes during bathing and whatnot. That's really the Worst Thing. FSN is way more wild in comparison, one just needs to think back to Illya commanding Berserker to "Behead and R@pe" Rin... Not to mention the Mana Transfer... Besides that, the worst thing Kuro does is try to get attention by trying to flirt with everyone and kiss them sometimes. And even that stops after Iri and Illya accept her.

@@giornogiovanna8367 look how troubled Luke was just from the Sakura scene in HF II. That's enough of a reason to know he's not gonna like the early parts. Biggest reason I wanted him to skip the series is that by his pace, he'll probably take several months just to finish it. It's a waste of time for him if he's gonna get put off by the show since only in 3rei where they started to tone down the fan service. Main route garners audience partly because of the insane work done by ufotable, prilya won't and might even illicit some sour comments. If he's gonna watch it then better make sure he's gonna like it or else it might spoil his fun with the fate series altogether

@@4rch0711 I honestly think it's better if he just stayed away from it altogether. Getting so "Upset" about it just seems stupid to me, it's not going to get him banned or anything like that. Though He completely missed the Point of the Scene, and I fear He'd probably do the same with Prillya... As for the Comments, I don't really think he cares much about those kind of comments tbh. The fact that Medusa is stronger as a Rouge* than when she was under Shinji just shows how weak shinji is. *For anyone who doesn't know, Rouge servants are generlly weaker than servants with a master. There are some exceptions, two of them are Medusa (as I said earlier) and Ruler Gilgamesh. Oh shiz, imagine how strong ruler gil would be with a master.

This might end up being a long comment. The end of the movie is what we call the true ending of the heavens feel route, in wich illya sacrificies hereself to destroy the greater grail qnd she also saved shirou by saving his soul since his body was beyond recovery. In the end Rin and Sakura go to a mage called Touko Aozaki fr om kara no kyouka( Nasu loves putting all his works on one big multiverse)from wich they get the puppet in wich they put Shirou's soul and live happily ever after( until hollow ataraxia[technically]). There is another ending called The "Happy (bs)" ending: in wich you didnt get enough illya points so she doesnt appear at the end so Shirou projects excalibur to destrot the grail and Angry Mango but he dies and Sakura spends the rest of her life on Shirou's house until she dies of old age never really getting over the fact that shirou dies. Also as Shirou uses Archer's arm both his body and mind get destroy, he start havisng problem talking becouse of that and that he is losing all of his memory that , in the end the reason he was yelling illya was because he manged to remember her name before she was gone forever and that is just too sad for me

If you remember in Fate/Zero, when Kiritsugu enters the grail he meets Irisviel, his wife again. But she is not his wife, she is "the Grail" trying to communicate with him using her image. She was in fact Angry Mango. But Angry Mango also consumes the personality of the person he takes the form of, so he acted in-character for Irisviel, just a twisted version of her. He then caused that great tragedy, and Kiritsugu was only able to save Shirou by placing Avalon inside him. Angry Mango has a bigger role in Fate/Stay Night's sequel, Fate/Hollow, but there is no anime of that one yet, and its canonicity is a bit... shaky. (as most stories in Fate, to be fair).

The game has two endings (per route), not counting the myriad bad ends on the way, the "True End" and "Good End". Both end more or less the same, but Shirou is never saved by Illya in the True End and therefore leaves Sakura all alone. When I was watching this movie, the way the epilogue starts honestly made me think they were going for the True End. The cheeky bastards.

There is no good ending in HF. Just True Ending (Shirou is saved by Illya) and Normal Ending (where Shirou dies)

Just like UBW, in the F/SN visual novel there’s also an alternate ending to Heaven’s Feel. Unlike UBW, to my knowledge, it never was animated. In the alternate ending, because reasons, Shirou ending up fighting Kotomine and Angra Mainyu slightly earlier in the timeline than in the movie. The consequences of that is Ilya didn’t arrive in time to retrieve his soul from his dying body, and as a result Shirou died. This had lasting consequences for Sakura. She returned to the Emiya residence, where she lived out the rest of her life in a deluded and mentally unstable state. Her life was frozen, waiting at the Emiya estate for Shirou to return home, which obviously he never did. Her brief senses of normalcy were when Rin and especially Rin’s daughter (and no, the father is never revealed and it’s not relevant) would come to visit her. Many decades later Sakura finally died, and she was finally reunited with Shirou in the afterlife. Truly the most tragic “true ends” (which excludes the “bad ends”) of the Fate/Stay Night saga.

it`s more like not because fight ended earlier, but because Shirou decided to destroy Grail by himself with projection of black Excalibur and died in process. At that point you have choice to do it yourself or wait... for something. Or using sword will be your only option if you fail to build good enough relationship with Illya during events of route.

The angry mango isn't fate lore... it's Zoroastrianism. Literally the oldest surviving religion, the origin of hell/the devil, and the 3 wise men/magi from the Bible were Zoroasters. Jesus died, so our sins could be placed on Angra Mainyu

Well, yes, and actually no. Correct, Angra Mainyu as a character originally comes from Zoroastrianism. Its version we see in Fate has similar background, however, it has a specific role in the Fate lore as well. Namely, by being a failed servant in the older Grail War who then corrupted the Grail and made it into the calamity we see in each Fate route. Unfortunately, this part isn't clearly explained in Fate anime, including the HF movies, so Angra Mainyu namedrops sound kinda confusing.

@dimaudalow technically all the fate servants are just based on our real life heroes.. but also the servants themselves are just shadows clones of the real Heroic Spirits in the Throne of Heroes. Soo yes and actually yes. Or no and actually no, it's a fake anime lol. Trust me, I'm well versed in the nasuverse, real history, and possible alternatives👍 sorry for your misunderstanding. I was just referring to the angry mango, not the corrupted grail or Dark Sakura.
