That's the judge or the prosecutor. Their jobs are making sure the court runs smoothly so that the scumbag can't win on appeal. If Nasser can prove he didn't get a fair trial the courts can reverse the verdict on appeal. Believe it or not that person was on the same side as the father which is why she was trying to make sure that Nasser got a fair trial that he couldn't appeal. Fair trial will lead to a fair punishment. Lust for vengeance might get Nasser off. So she's totally right here.

Yea actually that is a violation of his constitutional rights. Government cannot tell you not to curse. It has been well established in supreme court cases. There have even been lawsuits over the violated rights where police officers, prosecutors, etc were sued because they did violate that right. You are 100% allowed to curse in public, at public officials, in courtrooms, wherever you want. A private individual may tell you to get out of his store, but an agent of the government cannot say anything about it.

I so feel for this father. It makes me ache for my dad too. I didn’t tell him what happened to me at age 6 until I was 25. It was the principal at my school, he got caught at the time for doing it to other girls and only got house arrest and probation. My parents asked me when that was going on if he touched me but I was too afraid to say anything. He went to our church and was everywhere. Luckily not after conviction. But the night I told my dad when I was 25, he said that he went home and had loaded his gun, because the man still lives in our community. I’m so glad he didn’t act on it, I want my dad to be free and not feel guilty.

I have a feeling several of those deputies are fathers themselves. The way they handled him was extremely gentle during and after. They aren't all bad. Most are humans. Most of the time we only see the handful of bad ones on tv.

Why are the audiences laughing when father says “Grant me five minutes or even one minute”. He is serious and desperate. Put yourselves in his shoes. Bunch of clowns.

Some people laugh as a manner of hiding their grief and anger. It's an instinctual defense mechanism that about one out of twenty people possesses. During the Nuremberg trials when the film footage was shown, people started crying, wailing, some had to leave, and some laughed to hide the tears that they had to force back. This included the relatives of the victims shown in the film. It's not necessarily because they lack empathy. It's just an odd human abnormality.
