Circuit Court Judge Rosemarie Aquilina sentenced ex-Team USA doctor Larry Nassar up to 175 years in prison for sexual assault.
"Because the crime, all of the crimes, the depth of them have cut into the core of this community and many communities in all of the families and people we don’t even know," Judge Aquilina said about her decision behind the sentencing.
She called handing down his sentence a "privilege."
"I just signed your death warrant," she said.
More than 150 women came forward during his sentencing hearing to tell their stories of Nassar's abuse.

While i totally agree with the sentencing and punishment Nasser received, i think it was out of line by judge aquilina to clearly take it to personal level. " I just signed your death warrant " etc was out of line because we all know he will die in prison , but she wanted to rub it in. In the worst case this can backfire and the defense can use this as fuel for an appeal that the judge was biased and had a preconceived opinion.

Presumed Innocent until proven...oh that's right, guilty which is proven beyond doubt in a voluntary guilty plea. He had no presumption of innocence. People v Peters See Michigan Rule 785.7 and tell me where it says a guilty plea that's voluntary isn't proof of burden. Acquilina is a professor of Law and very intelligent. Ruling Per Michigan AG By pleading guilty to 10 counts of criminal sexual conduct, Nassar gave up his constitutional rights involving presumption of innocence. “Once Nassar’s guilt had been determined, the judge’s role shifted from exclusively being an impartial arbiter to an entity carrying the voice of the community,” the brief said.

I think he is a bit crazy and therefore has no emotions, and that could have been another reason to decide that he shouldn't be a doctor. Crazy people give many signs like talking alone (for long periods of time), shouting to animals, telling dirty jokes at formal dinners, etc. I am not judging anyone who didn't expelled him sooner, but I think that in the future there should be a psychiatrist in the Gymnastic board to read all these signs in every member every now and then.

Hey Abe, let me speak on behalf of the majority of men in the world who fall into the category of "real men" to make our point. "Tuck the little satchel you call a sack safely back inside your ass, and scurry on home to momma. There's real talk to be had here, and we dont need the likes of you muddying the waters." This judge is spot on, and potent with the tongue. Larry Nassar is a scumbag and needs to rot and that only because neck swings are no longer an option in this country.

AA Battery I agree. So many people are thirsty for blood. It hasn't changed a bit from the ancient times. What he did was terrible and he deserves to be punished but I'd never drool at the mouth for death like so many seem to do.

Often when the parents were in the room, he would position the women and himself so that the view of what he was doing was obstructed. The parents often didn’t see him putting his ungloved fingers in them, and the girls were so horrified they didn’t say anything.
