Fatum Betula: Nintendo Switch Game Review (also on Steam)

Fatum Betula (Birch of Fate) on Nintendo Switch is certainly a unique game, and while I do occasionally throw out the "U-word" when I want to be polite about a game I didn't really enjoy too much, this one actually is deserving of the term. You are the steward of the tree of fate, and whatever you choose to feed it will determine the fate of the world, whether that be blood, oil, or anything else you may be able to find in this 3-area adventure. However, just keep in mind that you will suffer the consequences of you actions as well...
Try if you can to find all the games unique endings... if you dare!

Love the look of this one, PS1 graphics have this nostalgic & otherworldly feel for me. Like, they can be both comforting & unsettling, lending themselves well to this kind of experience. I tried 'This Strange Realm of Mine' because of your channel & I might have to try this one too - Thanks for covering games like this, I really would never know about them otherwise. :)

Couldn't agree more. Seriously, it is the perfect aesthetic for this kind of a game. I think it is because everything just seems a little bit off. You know?

If you like This Strange Realm of Mine and are interested in Fatum Betula, I totally suggest Paratopic too.

That’s because PS1 graphics produce the Uncanny Valley effect which adds atmosphere in these kinds of games. Imo

I literally just played thru (well only two endings so far) this yesterday. Idk how you do it but you always review games I just played or was just looking at in Eshop. You have powers my friend! Really great choice/review as always man.

At first I was like “nah, dawg...not for me.“ But as the review went on, I kept thinking...”what happens if you give the tree that blood I see in the vial?” Yep, that’s when you know you need to check it out.

Picked this up randomly the other day. Totally blown away. Reminded me of a more fun, much easier, and way creepier Myst. Loved every minute of it.

Definitely looks interesting. Might check it out with how weird it looks. Great content as always and I love the wide variety of games you showcase. Even though I agree about the "shovelware" complaint that people have with the eshop, there are soooo many different and interesting experiences to be had on the Switch. Yea the eshop needs work but if you dig around there's something for everyone. I love it.
