With politicians travelling the country on battle buses, Sky News speaks to the people who rely on regular buses, and in particular night bus services, to live and work.
We spent a week at the Bolton Interchange to ask for people’s views on the state of the country - and how much faith they have in politicians.

Is It the right approach? Hell no, but please, make sure to complain to those 18/25 yo Who couldn't be bothered to vote in 2016 before calling out an octuagenarian. By the way, my mom Is 82 and I wouldn't let her ride the bus, especially at night

It’s important to take everything with a pinch of salt. All of the people interviewed expressed their opinion which is based on their personal experience. What we see in this video is what the editors decided to shows us. It’s clear there are people who see opportunities, others are the complete opposite-they look for faults in someone else’s responsibility.

@@daryllportas8453shops have been closing down in big numbers and got worse since COVID. With Amazon, Delivoroo, Uber Eats, other online retailers etc many people are buying everyday things online which means local shops have suffered to the point of closing. It's just how things have been going for a while now. A lot of local authorities are to blame for a lot of problems but not necessarily for the mass of shops closing down. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Small towns also have less opportunities and young people who want more in career and life are forced to move to cities where higher paying jobs are. Schools also don't give them any preparation to look, find and grow opportunities. It's just sad!

This country does not "need god". Take a glance at the countries that unapologetically are theocracies- they are hell holes. Superstition will not help. I lived in Bolton for many years and I love, most, of the people there. But people there, as elsewhere, need to vote. Be involved, be informed. Do not let apathy usher in what we do not want. Guys, where the technology craze plays all of these, I think technology and power that few weald economically is what makes the situation worse because many jobs are virtualized using AI and things like that leaving many people hopeless and politicians have no answer to counter that demise of many jobs at least in the short term. Let us hope politicians figure out how to minimise the damage that technology is causing to many people in the UK and elsewhere.

I’m really proud that we take in immigrants. This country is changing and always has. It’s not always easy to accept a changing culture, but we do feel better about it when we are actively generous in our acceptance. We also need immigration to refresh the spirit of the nation, to make it exciting to be here again. What has let us down is the political choice for austerity. The price gouging by corporations, raising prices artificially. Old Conservative policies killed affordable council housing. Old and current Conservative policies mean businesses are sold off to asset raiders who run them into the ground or to foreign conglomerates who provide some work but take all the profits out of the country. Brexit has left us more isolated as a country and less dynamic as a culture. Whoever wins the election, we must drive them to make the UK better for the majority of its citizens, and take some pride in supporting and uplifting those who are struggling.

To some people, it doesnt matter what the problem is. its always Brexits fault as far as they're concerned. Its not taboo, most people are fed up hearing people moaning about it and blaming *everything* on it because some people are still whining about it. Believe me, even people that voted for it are angry - but they're angry at the fact they've been stabbed in the back by the weak politicians in charge. I suppose brexit is also the cause of issues in the EU, France currently falling apart , the weather, the traffic etc etc ad nauseum. Its ohly been 8 years. I wonder how long some people can drag their misery out (its getting a bit boring by now). Brexit just means we (at least we were supposed to be) run by our own idiots for our own benefit instead of idiots from other country for someone elses benefit. The fact that both methods have failed is not the fault of "Brexit". , Its the fault of politicians and (IMO - the globalist folks who have a hold over them) Before 1994 (and earlier integration) we managed both pretty well and pretty poorly in cycles just like everyone else. I suppose that was the fault of NOT being in the EU at that point? - Time to put on our big boy pants and move on.
