I owned a set of the chair for your desk in the mid-70's!!! Wow! A lot of memories. My four of the rattan backed, chrome chair came as a set with a small round butcher block dining table. We purchased the set at my former brother-in-law's furniture store in Ohio. When we moved to Florida the movers temporarily "lost" the chrome base for the table, thus leaving us with four chairs and a butcher block circle...lol. The movers did find it but I recall how upset I was. As newlyweds fresh out of college, we owned very little between us and that round disk on the floor looked so sad. Chrome, lucite, butcher block and color choices of avocado or "harvest gold" for the kitchen were big during that time. It's true - if one owns something long enough, it eventually comes back in fashion...although I do hope avocado/harvest gold kitchens don't.

I have the same lamp (on silver stand with white woven shade). It was given to me at a yard sale. The catch was there was no plug. I went to the local hardware store for a $2 replacement plug. The salesperson even installed the plug for me. I bought a .54 cent bottle of craft paint to redo the shade. It’s the cutest lamp for under $3.

I have a VERY similiar magazine rack and I allllmost didn't get it. I kept circling back and finally got it....SO GLAD! So far it's my FAVOURITE thrifted piece!! (And I have a lot haha!)

I brought myself and my aunt for her birthday present a China cup and saucer with matching plate set and a tea leaf silver holder all for £10 for the sets and £1 for the tea leaf holder thingy, from a charity shop in Deal. Ps where did the lavender grey paint come from am thinking of that colour in our bedroom. Not 100% sure as mainly going cream in our home and adding colour using soft furnishings. Would love some advice on choosing the right shade of paint colour ( could b an idea for a video) xx
