Thank you, very informative. I have to agree with previous comments; the spring mounts in the actuator are way too weak.

Yep, that's the reason I came here. Mid-position valve mounted the wrong way round ...

Is there a problem with residual voltage firing up boilers with the Drayton? I know that Honeywell seem to have a problem.

In the 2 port values the switch is volt free so unlikely for residual voltage to be present. On the mid position the call for heat can only be between 0V and 230V.

Shame that they all seem to break the spring mounts. Poor weak design.

The Biflo Mid Position measurement chart at 30:00mins (bottom row) shows white dead but orange live ( call for water not heat ) so wouldn't both white and orange be dead?

The orange wire will be live under this condition as it will be back fed from the call for hot water. This is because the orange wire, the boiler switch live and the demand from the cylinder stat all connects together. If you were bench testing with nothing else connected, the orange wire will be dead.
