5:30 Gta 4's map was smaller because Rockstar changed their engine from Criterion's Renderware to Rage engine leaving many established already made mechanics behind and starting everything from scratch in their new Rage engine. It takes more time to start on a new engine because everything have to be made again.

The "get out of the car" line was in GTA2, there were random car thieves who would go around stealing cars who said it.

Claude is a strong believer of "Actions speak louder than words"

The map in gta4 may have been smaller, but it was ludacrisly dense and detailed and probably the most believably "living" world time of release. The traffic was heavy in the spots you would see in real life, the tall buildings adding verticality, etc. It was the first HD gta so they were just dipping thier toes. Then I believe they did red dead to test non road terrains and see how the engine would handle nature, then gta5 was the culmination of everything

The nitro to the motorbikes was removed, probably because it would be too fast for the player & the game to handle. The speed might've been too fast, to the point that either the player or the game itself, would be crashing...

Love the old clips from the old games . Crazy to think how far the game has come since the original GTA that had aerial view

Really shown how much they reused Max Payne 3 assets for GTA V. This video is awesome! I hope someone makes a mod about all the cut beta content for GTA V, similar to how someone made a mod about Beta GTA SA.

At 1:30, the orange atmosphere is not only in the PS2 version. In PC, you can turn on the trails option from the display settings to make orange atmosphere just like PS2 version.

Crazy, I always loved the orange feel and vibrance on the PS2 version of Vice City. No wonder something felt off when I eventually tried the other versions.

So, quite speculative, but here we go: Claude having a voice on the video is a cascade of events. First off, this was released to the press first, to show how the game was 'n' all; they didn't even find a good font to use in the video, later they changed it. All sounds, except maybe for the music, is reused from GTA I and II due to the game still being developed (it wasn't ready enough to get a library of sounds). Since they would have to test if sounds come from doing actions (like, pointing a gun to someone and they saying something) and putting the same sounds on every pedestrian they had, it would be best to just put the sounds on Claude and let him do the sounds, then you can assign to a pedestrian later; this could've happened to check the sound when stealing someone's car. Secondly, at the start of the development the idea was for Claude to not have a voice; certainly that, if many people are working on a project, not everyone would agree with that (you can check that on GTA Series Videos's "The Design Behind GTA 3" video that, in the game document they were using, it keeps flipping between Claude being able to talk and Claude not saying a word; go check it out). So, for some, it was normal to have Claude having a voice, and for others, not; and when recording the video for the press kit, if it supposedly fell on someone who's accustomed with the idea of a talking Claude the job of recording, editing and checking it if there's no mistakes... yeah, in the end, they slipped up there and won't admit it

Those beta & removed features should be added in GTA DE but not only R* didn’t add them, they make the Trilogy even worse. They look like Cyberpunk 1977 The Definitive Edition.

I guess you can say for GTA IV's case with the map size they traded large map size for Quality more then anything, almost every street feels unique in its own way with alot of different places to go as well as random bits of destructible environment. Ahead of its time for sure.

One thing they removed from the remakes of GTA SA is some of the iconic songs we heard from the original PS2/PC game because of expired license :-(

1:01 Both "He's got a gun!" And "Get of the car!" Where voice lines from gta 2 i think. Rockstar probably put those voice lines in the trailer to give it some character, but probably never actually planed for Claude to have a voice in the full game.

4:20 no thats not a "reminisce" of a removed feature, in gta san andreas's car models, you can find that vehicles have extra parts and normal parts. in the games code when spawning a vehicle it will randomly decide weather the vehicle has extra parts or not. in gta 3 and vice city you can see this happening when a car like a patriot spawns. sometimes the patriot has a closed trunk and sometimes it doesnt. vehicles also randomly spawn with window louvers aswell (those plate things that are on the back of the mafia sentinel) in gta 3 normal sentinels also sometimes spawn with that along with mafia sentinels.

Claude was never planned to have speaking roles but that get out of the car SFX was added to hype the trailer, really great video though!

For the enhanced and expanded edition, they should have tried to add some of their beta content as that would make it a bit newer (still not enough for an *paid* upgrade)

There was (is) actualy a weather called "Earthquacke" (i guess you know what happens when it occures), but the command is still in the game's code it is Just set to value: 0, so that means that you can set the value to a other numbers and the Earthquacke Will sometimes occur in the vanilla game

It’s genuinely so sad that so many weapons are removed from GTA 5 it really lacks weapons for such a high quality game even if you can find A mod your either gonna have a super unstable game or a bad mod or it breaks every update

For Claude can’t speak, I think someone made a video, Vadim M or GTA series video or someone else(I don’t remember) well. They found a disc issued by the Rockstar Games to the press in the announcing E3 have the exact same trailer and that voice line in it.

Fun fact, the "Get out of the car" was actually audio from the Grand theft auto MOVIE before GTA 3, So they re-used audio from the movie but didn't plan to give the same voice actor due to the movie being a totally different plot.

They still haven't responded. They never responded. I deleted the email. But I honestly thought it was a good idea, and I still do. But some things just don't happen...

For clarification on Claudes voice, watch "the design behind gta 3" by gta series videos. It's pretty clear Rockstar are full of it by saying this is fake, they WERE going to give him a voice but ultimately decided not to, then proceed to act like that was the intention all along.

I thought that the character switching from SA was supposed to include Ryder originally, and you lost access to him when he died in the original story under the bridge. By the way, fun fact: Ryder wasn't originally intended to be a traitor, but his VA quit before production was finished, so they had to change things and make due with what they had. That's why Ryder doesn't have any unique lines past The Green Sabre about anything. Also why CJ doesn't mention him when they find the sabre, and it's hardly ever mentioned that he's one of the traitors.

No claude wasn't able to talk at all in the physical game. The "get out of the car" is actually just something their used in the trailer that was used in a previous GTA game. At no point did they develop him a voice or voice actor in GTA 3. It was only planned very very early in the game design document but never implemented.

Goddamn consoles, always some limitations... GTA San Andreas would be even better game without PS2 limitations, they wanted to add breaking glass and opening stolen cars like in GTA IV and V but they were also limitated just like with character switch

there’s one thing that i wish they would have added to gta v: make all the rooms in franklins mansion accessible. it seems like they are just additional bedrooms and a bathroom, but it would be amazing to have some typical r* visual jokes in there or something. after all, san andreas had houses with accessible rooms as well that were not immediately necessary for any gameplay purpose and michaels mansion also has multiple rooms which you can enter.

Uh, I've heard otherwise on the "Get out of the car" from Claude in GTA3. From what I know, someone who got their hands on a developers demo disc, used to show official trailers for upcoming games, and that audio was in the GTA 3 demo footage

I swear to God I've done a mission with that same apt setup, chainsaw included. I don't remember what game it was, if it was gta or not, or weather it was a cutscene or not, but I definitely remember it.
