In this episode we do an update on the koi ponds. We check on the koi to see if they have survived winter. We don't spot any but do we. Then comes another winter storm Heartbreaking
I do my first ever koi bowl and we get to look at all seven of the fry from this year's spawn.
It's hard to tell some of the koi as we aren't totally sure if they are Showa or Sanke and in another grouping are the hariwake or kohaku. You be the judge

Wow it was nice to see the pond starting to melt, then bam! Mother Nature reminds us that winter is not over yet. We've had the same teasing weather here. I'm gonna guess and say Hariwake. They look like Hariwake to me, but we'll see what Le Twisted One says. 😅 I'm probably wrong. Beautiful Koi none the less. Great update Chris. Thank you for doing a pond and Koi update! ❤

Thanks Michael. I would normally agree with you. I have one but the koi keepers like to show their koi and goldfish in blue bowls or totes usually with measuring tape .. it's a koi thing... As they like to view from above as that is the way they generally see their fish
@FishEZ
@FishEZ 4 ай бұрын
@@stubbsaquatics6080 That's some good points, and I don't think there's a big enough "specimen box" for a large koi, but what I was referring to was the fact that you kept trying to turn those gold fish on their side to show off their side profile. If that is the case, a "box" might be better. If you want to just see them from the top, then no box is needed as you state.
