I played guitar alone in my room growing up because none of my friends played. Now I live in Nashville and I play alone in my room because my friends are so freaking great at guitar, I have no business picking one up around them.

Hey man from someone who's played a a few shows and gigs I'll play with anyone I bet your buddies would too learn to play some rhythm and go for it

Don’t worry about it. Keep playing 🎸. My friend is a pro guitarist and he helps me out some. I just sit in the living room trying to get better everyday. I don’t want to be a pro but I want to play some Mississippi John Hurt, Robert Johnson etc. and not embarrass myself in the living room in front of the dog 🐕 😬.

Love the illustration of the nores on the fretboard that corresponds with your step by step verbal explanation. This shall be my final resting place on the many hours of surfing to find The Acoustic Guitar Guru. I am subscribing from Malaysia 👍😉

My buddy is a looper so I can lay down a 12 bar shuffle and solo over it. This is a really great lesson to play something that sounds good and get familiar with note names, ear training and some theory. I just tried this pattern with shuffle timing with the metronome👍 My timing is not good, I tend to speed up and run over everyone usually. Shuffle timing is about a week old to me now, it’s exciting to realize what it is and how cool it sounds.

Good lesson. I've hammered the first position pentatonic scales. Good to know the pattern. Up to that b string. Nice. I love the theory and the notes so its good to get a practical way to use that.

Great tutorial! Colored "overlays" of the chord's notes sharing frets would have been helpful. I actually used highlighting pens - pink for the notes of the "I" chord, blue for the notes of the "IV" chord, and purple for the notes of the "V" chord, to better visualize the overall relationship. Also did an overlay chart for the key of "E". Helpful for a maligned mind.

I was looking at other videos with other teachers. I will stop , decided to stick with you. Thank you 😊 I am alittle 😕 confused and mess up. On A 5 fret you do other one rthym then you move one to 7 fret A then you move 5 fret D and so on? Am I correct?
