You just helped me decide which Kayak to buy. Been struggling to committ to the Lure 11.5 V2 with so many choices available...overload. I was leaning strongly to FeelFree Lure or Moken already. Adding the motor upgrade will be fun and now easier. Thank you.

Pretty cool. I think I’ll save up more $$ so I can get the Lure Kayak instead of getting something less expensive. Way more options and they’ve really thought it out. I’m super impressed with the FeelFree yaks.

how long the battery lasts. You can put pedal board and motor at the same time

How high should the motor current be? If it’s running low what do you think the issue is? I have the exact same setup.

man. i am a huge fan of FeelFree yaks. i have 11.5 lure. .. but the bixpy motor battery combo is a muuuuuch better option for the lure series. about the same price as the overdrive and you get to keep your sonar pod. and good lord is it a lot quieter than that thing.

Does the motor disconnect from the drive or do you have to turn the motor and prop when pedaling?

I like the install and you did very good, my question is regarding the motor noise, is it that loud on the water as well?

The pedal drive units need some actual work time for the gears etc to wear into each other. So some initial noise when new is normal. Also when you have the resistance of the water it minimizes the "free wheel" that is happening when the motor is run without resistance. Short answer is they get quieter with time and are quieter in the water.

Does the bracket with the hole come with the motordrive? Or Is that something you have to buy separately?

Can you add peddles to the motor and have them available to use after you arrive at your destination?

Yes so you do leave the pedals on and when the motor clicks into place it disengages the pedals. You can always release the motor and disengage it which would then put your pedals back into normal use. So it is very easy to switch between motor use and foot power.

I would like to know how to change the remote control connector since I think that the cables are not connected because it does not turn on the control

First check to ensure the connector pins are clean, no dirt / corrosion. If it is clean, then it’s possible the control has gone bad. The warranty period is for one year on accessories. You will need to go to Www.feelfreeus.com At the bottom of the page they have a warranty tab that explains the process. Mike

We're all going motorized. Gotta have the f or pdl drive, love my Bixpy, and I do still paddle around my spots, to keep in shape. Couldn't even give me a skiff or flats boat with these gas prices. I can go go just just as far on a nice day as a 30t, sports fisher. 🙏 😎 🎣

This is the FeelFree Overdrive motor and it does need to be paired with the pedal drive unit

The battery we use is Amped Outdoors and we get ours through FeelFree.

How is the install for the 13.5 lure compare to this one where would u put the battery.

Unfortunately I can’t answer that question. I have never done any upgrades on a 13.5. Were smaller lakes here and the 11.5 is perfect for our waters. Looking at specs / image I see no float issues with the battery up front. I’d still us the Li Ion battery, much lighter than lead acid. Hope that helps. Mike

What is the volt and amp for the battery? How much does it go for?

Hi Gary, sorry for the delay in response. It is a 12v 55ah battery. Retails for $350.

You are correct on the battery size Sir. This isn't confirmed by me yet, but the the battery is rated for 2.5 hours at 40 #s of thrust which is essentially full speed. I'm going to guess on trolling speed being at least half that speed so approximately 5 hours of continuous run. Hopefully this clears it up a somewhat but it's going to vary depending on gear weight, body weight, run speed etc.

The question is; There will be someone who will manage legislation to allow electric motors to be used in kayaks without having to register them like boats because in PA as long as you mount an electric motor it will be considered a motorized boat and you need a license and registration yearly or every two year. Well, as I said, with this new system , there will be exceptions such as electric bicycles that do not require Plates.?

Vote for the right politicians to change that for you. We don't have to register any motor here in Oklahoma unless it's over 10hp or if you plan on using it on the water highways. So it all depends on your local laws.
