The photo for this video shows the pod with the ti totalscan transducer but the video shows installing the skimmer downscan. Having installed the skimmer with my previous Elite 5 chirp this works but with the ti total scan one has to add a 1 1/4 -1 1/2" block between the transducer mount and the pod in order for the transducer to sit properly for the structurescan to work properly. I notice the photo reflects that. Perhaps you may want to make a video for this transponder.

Walter Holt id like to see a video with the total scan transducer as well. Just ordered the elite 7 ti for my lure 13.5. I'm kind of worried about having to add the additional 1.5" to the bottom since I fish such skinny water sometimes.

How to do you get side scan to work when the transducer is recessed like that?

Is there a video on installing a fish finder on an older 11.5 with out a sonar pod?

Video shows the power cable without the NMEA data cable. Mine came with both coming out of the power connector. What do I do with the data cable?My touchscreen will not work without me holding the data cable in my hand....seems its searching for some type of ground....

What about 3 in 1 active imaging transducer on the freelure 11.5

Great piece of equipment. Unfortunately after buying the 2017 Feel Free lure 11.5, paddle, rudder, and anchor trolley, I didn't have the funds for this one. I ended up buying the Garmin Striker 4.

The striker 4 is a heck of a fishfinder, plus you got gps. Why would you rather take the lowrance over the striker? Thanks

I have a hook 2 5 triple shot I'm getting ready to install. Is it going to be an issue with sidescan if its mounted in the pod. Concerned because the transducer doesn't sit below the boat. I prefer that so I dont get caught up or drag it but have never had sidescan so not sure if its gonna be an issue

Could the transducer be siliconed inside to shoot through the bottom of the pod? Wondering if the pods lower surface stays submerged when installed. I fish in heavily weeded waters and don't like the idea of eh transducer being able to become fouled.
@josephwarren84205 жыл бұрын
I've seen them shoot through but some yaks do have thicker hull

What does it look like inside of the kayak where the pod fits in? Is there a seal and what keeps water from getting into the hull? Will it accept Hummingbird fish finders?
@walterholt26098 жыл бұрын
The hull is solidly molded where the pod fits in. Yes the pod should accomodate most finder/transducer combos
@SmokyMtnHiker14 жыл бұрын
I have the Moken 12.5 version 2 that has this pod. You can remove pod while in a lake. It's just like a giant scupper hole. No water comes in to kayak. I do not have a depth finder yet. I store stuff in pod. The buckles on the side are useless while in the seat. Foot pedals are the same location as buckles making it difficult to unlatch. I just undo front buckle and pick it up to access inside of pod while in the water.

Their model uses separate power and 'ducer wires. And they mounted the unit near the center of the pod lid, so the wires unfortunately have to splay out to the edges of the FF at a sharp angle. The 2 holes in the "cork" required for the 2 FF cords I presume made this guy quit the install at your question. My Elite 3 something has a single cord for power and signal so I used the rubber plug/cork they gave me. I also mounted my base as far forward on the lid as I could so I could reach it easier on the water. If I was them, I would have tried to put 2 holes in the cork. This is my 1st Feelfree, so I'm not sure the history but I'm guessing this box was originally a storage unit. Otherwise it should have a flat top to make mounting the FF base better. Haven't tested mine yet but I'm worried that the transducer won't sit deep enough in the water. There is a 3' drop from the bottom of the pod to the bottom of the kayak. Hopefully I'm worried about nothing ...but that is why I came here today. :D
