Pastor Jeff Durbin from Apologia Church/Radio/TV spoke with a young Mormon girl outside of the Mormon Temple in Mesa, Arizona at the annual Easter Pageant. Our hope is that this video will help both Mormons and Christians alike. We pray that Mormons will see it and begin to question their beliefs and test them by Scripture. We hope that Christians will be encouraged to reach their Mormon friends, family, and neighbors.

Pardon, but your use of “sweetie “ and “sweetheart “ is condescending and inappropriate. Use sister, brother, or friend instead. You may not have meant “sweetheart “ dismissively, but it sure comes across that way. These people are your brothers and sisters in the Sovereign Triune. Please use their first names, ma’am, sir, brother, sister, or friend.

Watch more of his videos and see he always says the same ones, point out a chapter that contradicts his interpretation and see him gobsmacked and watch him be struck dumb not knowing what to say when he no longer asks the leading questions. I pray that the word of God that went forth will not return void (Isaiah 55:11). As Jeff was speaking to the young girl, he was examining hopefully Isaiah 43:10-11. On a side note, I have open air preached. And it has been my repeated experience that the people who are listening in the background and at a distance. Are the ones who the seed of God are truly doing a work in. Usually in my experience, the person who is having the one on one debate with me, are arrogant and prideful. Not saying that they too cannot be saved, but most often they don't, because they are proud in heart. They just want to argue and debate just for the sake of them being right in their own minds. So, I use the proud argumentative person to draw a crowd, so that the ones sitting back in the distance can reap the fruit of the gospel being preached.

@@JodyCarmichael Anyone who thinks their church's doctrine contains everything are not willing to learn because they think everything is already revealed. There's always more to learn, teachings and mysteries in the scriptures we haven't noticed ourselves yet. Anyone who thinks they understand the Word 100% will not learn because they believe there's nothing left to learn so they will not look. So in this case, Durbin's the one not willing to learn, we can hear in the girl's voice uncertainty proving she knows she has more to learn. I don't know anyone who would not close off from Durbin's sort of over confident attitude and pressurising tone of voice. "Believe what I believe or you will go to Hell for eternity." "Love thy neighbor as thyself and do your best to follow the Saviour's example." Which of the two sermons would people be more open to? My opinion is the second one, that's why in the church's history the British were more willing to join the members Joseph sent, they didn't lift themselves above others.

So, Jill, you think “Mormonism” is polytheistic and secular Christianity is monotheistic, right? Well, math was never my strong point, but I'm pretty sure if there's a Father, a Son and Holy Spirit, that that's not ONE, it's THREE. The apostle John writes that when Jesus prayed to the Father concerning the Twelve, he said, “that THEY may be ONE _even as_ WE are ONE.” (John 17:22) In other words, in the same way WE are ONE, so should the TWELVE be ONE. Jesus used the term WE referring to him and the Father. And “WE” is _not_ monotheistic. “I” is monotheistic. In short, 1 + 1 + 1 ≠ 1. Then we have Genesis. “Man has become as one of US, knowing good from evil.” Are you saying WE and US are monotheistic. You can leave the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints and reap the consequences - it's your right, but please don't be hypocritic about it. The Father is God, the Son is God and the Holy Spirit is God, but they aren't the same entity manifesting itself as three beings. That is modalism. =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= 🎥 VIDEOS =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a9-afraSys2weps.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d8WXZteDp9Xcl2g.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e7WAedKTlcnOlqs.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oa2DeKWov7PUo3U.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bcWoldSjmr2-j6M.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eJOIdpNmqa6sYqs.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g9NddLt7s77Ncmw.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/arKUhZpz1K-admQ.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pp-WjKir0rG-gYU.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ab2EqrSe0Z6xkXk.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a6ePdrV7vp68c5s.html =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=

When Adam transgressed, the Father no longer could commune with man. A mediator was needed, and that mediator was YHVH, the premortal Jesus Christ. Once the Earth has completed the great Millennium, it will be redeemed. Then shall YHVH turn the Earth back to the Father perfected and glorified. @@johnroberts6695 hear o Israel, the Lord our God is one (deuteronomy 6:4). God progressively revealed Himself over time. We see loads of theophanies in the old testament, which you are probably aware of. i believe all persons of the holy trinity have the same will, but i would have to have 'purpose' spelled out a little more in order to say all 3 have the same purpose. for instance, God the Son took on flesh and came to earth. Jesus as God the Son and His apostles modeled prayer to God the Father, but in Jesus name. when Adam transgressed, i dont know i would say i know what God's self imposed limitations may have been with regards to communication. by saying 'commune', i think the inference is that Adam couldnt be in God's presence in the same way as before. i'd agree with that assessment. not sure i get the idea of where any disagreement may be, or if there is one. hopefully i clarified, or maybe generated more questions. regardless, may God bless you.

We Know The Truth You are incorrect Sir. Sorry to say. When you see the Son, you see the Father. Seems clear to even an infant in the faith. Plain and clear as the gospel is to be. “Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.” ‭‭John‬ ‭14:9-11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ To hone in on a scenario because the previous scripture does not necessarily debunk the Michael the archangel identity. Here’s another scripture set that interprets itself. “Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”” ‭‭John‬ ‭2:19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ As well as: “He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.” ‭‭I Peter‬ ‭1:20-21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Finally, The Father from heaven himself said this: “And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!”” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:35‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ So to completely set aside what Jesus said is to go against the commands of Jehovah/Yahweh God. Another point: What do you mean when you say they believe faith without deeds? They clock in and out every time they do field service. Field service in itself is good but when you have to clock in hours for it is fundamentally pointless and is suggestive to be against scripture. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:8-9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jesus says he has confused some so they will not understand. His sheep will hear his voice and come to him and he will never lose them. God made some clay pots for to be destroyed others to glorify him. He chose his people from before creation by his own regard and nothing we have done or said. We cannot choose ourselves into grace, it is a gift that God has given his regenerated people. This being said, all you can do is speak the truth, unlike modern Pelagians believe, we can't save anyone, God does that own His own. We can only be of strong character, rejecting all forms of evil and loving God before all things. His people will come to him, noone can still out of His hand.

@@trillrudeboy » You appear to be a Calvinist, thus you apparently believe God chose you and others _before_ the foundation of the Earth. In short, you seem to think you and others have been saved entirely by grace whilst others are either saved or damned through no discernable actions of their own. This is their doctrine, but it's entirely FALSE. You were placed here by your own actions by what you did in your premortal life. Just as what you do in this life depends on where you spend the next, so what you did in your premortal life determined your life here. The Calvinistic doctrine that states that God arbitrarily chooses people based entirely on chance lacks justice. When Jesus healed a man who was born blind, Jesus’ apostles said, “Master, who did sin, THIS MAN or his parents that he was BORN BLIND?” Jesus offered no rebuke, but instead said so the works of God could be made manifest in him. In short, his answer implied that the man _consented_ to being born blind! God doesn't operate on chance, but by action. By what's in our hearts. He thus blesses us by what we do and say. And many of those who have had such experiences say they felt a sense of being home. One person who had an NDE said he was told, “Your memory of your life before will come back to you shortly. Again, God isn't arbitrary. There are policies he follows, and near the top of the list is justice. And He _NEVER_ violates it. To choose a person purely by chance and predestines him to glory makes no sense. At least to me.

@ArmorofValor
@ArmorofValor Жыл бұрын
@Parker Barduhn I agree with the false prophets' comments. Every religion has examples of false prophets, so how to determine which is accurate? We have to lend credence to the entirety of the Bible through the 100% accurate fulfillment of prophecy of the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ written 700 years before Jesus Christ was born. Upon the fulfillment of prophecy, judaism was made void, and any other religions that contradicts any of the teachings of the Bible can also be deemed false. That goes for islam, mormonism, catholicism, etc. Nearly all religions have a copycat of Jesus, while ironically contradicting the actual words of Jesus Christ🤦🏻‍♀️. All have some truth, but all are mixed with pagan/satanic beliefs, and some, like islam and mormonism, were brought by a demon masquerading as an angel of light, which God specifically warned us about for a reason in a very specific way. Had Joseph Smith and Muhammad actually tested the spirits that spoke to them as they were commanded to do by God, islam and mormonism would never have existed to commit the atrocities they have. Another very critical aspect to consider is that intention is important to God. When being saved by works, the intention can never be 100% pure because we always will have something to prove, and we are always trying to "be good enough." We can never be good enough. God says our good works are as filthy rags. Humans on our own are wretched. We are selfish, gluttonous sinners. No good deed, no matter how grandiose, will ever be able to pay the wages of the smallest, most insignificant sin. So if we have to do good things to save ourselves, the good we do is selfish to some degree even if we think we are doing it out of the goodness of our hearts. When we are saved by grace alone, we desire nothing more than to be Christ-like in all we do. We are transformed as we give up ourselves and sacrifice our fleshly desires. This is what it means by, "As the body with the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead." One can not claim to have true faith unless they have a true desire to produce good fruits for the Lord in gratitude for the sacrifice He made for us and the free gift we have been given. We want to do good so others may be blessed with this mercy as well. It is not to try to save ourselves. Trying to save ourselves is the equivalent of trying to be our own god... which was satan's first lie and continues to be his most used lie and people STILL fall for it 🤦🏻‍♀️. We are not God and we will never be. Neither will satan. God Himself says there is only one God and there are no other gods beside Him and through logical and moral consistency, it is obvious that it is the triune omnipotent God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and none are granted the gift of salvation unless they acknowledge and show gratitude for the sacrifice Jesus Christ made to save us. He will not share this credit with a false, powerless god nor any mortal. That would be insulting to Him. It is as simple as just taking God seriously in what he said in the Bible, but I understand easier said than done, as it requires we humble ourselves and admit when we are wrong about our beliefs. I've been there and that's a bitter pill to swallow and not for the faint of heart or those who follow their religion blindly or without critical thought.

@Natalie82170 This is not to be invasive, and you don't have to answer to us here. But, from your account, I could not tell if you have just left the Mormon church and are now agnostic (I know some agnostics that ask for prayers is why I ask), or have turned to biblical Christianity. My reason for wondering is that scripturally, Satan and his demons have rule over the earth prior to Christ's return (Ephesians 2:1-2; John 12:31) . And seeing as an Angel appeared to Joseph Smith and taught a Gospel contrary to that taught in the scriptures, if an angel truly taught it to him, it is an accursed, fallen angel (demon). Scripture teaches us that Satan can masquerade as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), and this seems consistent with other false Gospels (e.g. Islam having an angel show up and teach a false path to God). This to say, that since it seems to be a demonic religion, and Satan has power over the earth, he and his fallen angels can bring hardships against you, especially if you are not under the protection of God. We know from Job that Satan can do nothing apart from God's permission as it relates to God's people (Job 1:9-12), but we also know that God does not test us beyond what we can endure (1 Corinthians 10:13). So my encouragement to you, would be to not return to the LDS church, as it may provide temporary relief (as that of a prisoner of war returning to their captor under pretense of more food and water, and rest; and this for a time, yet they are still a captive). But what good is the temporary, and fleeting comforts of this world, compared to eternal comfort in God? And if, you are in Christ, you can turn to God for comfort and perseverance, knowing and trusting that he is a Good Father who can provide comfort, but also knowing that he tests our faith at times, as a blacksmith refines his metal so does God test us to make our faith shine brighter (1 Peter 1:6-7). But take heart, if you are in the Lord because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the World (1 John 4:4). It is very interesting that you go through this, because it sounds similar to accounts I've heard of people leaving Santeria, and many other false religions. You should check out the Cultish (same group as Jeff Durbin) video interview with a young man that left Santeria, you may find his testimony to be encouraging since it is similar experiences as to what you are going through (the "saints" told him that they would take away his career and relationships if he would not maintain their altar, and he lost those when he left and was afflicted by sleep paralysis when he left. And if you felt compelled to go back, because it was some time ago you reached out, do know that God is merciful and longs to have the wayward return to his fold (Luke 15:11-32). I'll be praying for you!

❤️This is the first video discussion I saw, as an “inactive Mormon” of Jeff Durbin. I had all the same thoughts and arguments this young lady had, as if she were in my own head, refuting all the points and places I would have. But I was able to hear his points, and take in the message he was giving her. THIS discussion, was the one that convicted my heart. It started a long journey and search for me. I listened to debates, read history, listened to sermons, and most importantly read the Bible and attended studies. A year later, I can say with joy, I am a Christian. I believe the Bible to be the THE WORD of God, preserved for us. Joseph Smith was a false prophet (this was a hard one to come to since I was born Mormon and taught since I could talk he was a true prophet). I am still learning, but the true spirit is found in the scriptures, in its truth, not a burning of the bosom. The Triune God, is the God of the Bible. @NicholasproclaimerofMessiah

@@cinnamondan4984 God does the impossible. Let me ask you about two predictions made by the Bible. 1) That the Scriptures would not be lost. 2) That Messiah (Christ) is the Lord Of Glory which means the Supreme Of Fame. So, today the most famous document is the Bible and the most famous person ever, and by a HUGE margin, is Messiah. These two predictions came true. What is the probability that a crucified rabbi would become the most famous person to ever live? How many people were predicted by ancient writings to be The Lord Of Fame? What are the odds that the one predicted to be the Lord Of Fame would also be indisputably the Lord Of Fame? I'm not trying to say this is science, but we can apply some scientific standards. Prediction, testing, observation, and repeatability of testing. Messiah being the Lord Of Fame is observed repeatedly, tested repeatedly, and it was predicted to be so. The best possible scientific approach on the matter indicates a valid theory that Scripture is reliable because it makes drastic predictions which are very well verified to be fact. Is this proof? No, but it is the best we have to work with. Do you think we should ignore the best evidence on the matter because it's impossible to prove this way? To be clear, God can and does prove His Scriptures, to each individual in a distinct and special way in order to achieve something extremely important in each individual. Impossible to prove? Maybe, but God does the impossible. Disproving doctrines held by churches is not the same as disproving God Messiah. There are some doctrines in most churches which are not Biblical, so it is not challenging to disprove those false doctrines. Example: eternal torture in Hell. In the Bible, the word "Hell" refers to either Sheol/Hades which is simply the Grave (Hades is a translation of Hebrew Sheol, it's not speaking of Greek Hades) or else Gehenna/The-Lake-Of-Fire which is where sin and the devil and his angels and death will all be destroyed in fire as garbage (Gehenna was a garbage dump where trash was burned). Those who did not trust Messiah in this earthly time will be shamed at the Judgement, specifically the Greek says "belittle/dwarf" or "descend" which are both translated in English as "torment" (not "torture"). The idea of eternal torture is from a poetic novel called "Dante's Divine Comedy" written only 700 years ago, specifically the portion referred to as "Dante's Inferno", and it's based on Greek mythology with fire added to coincide with fire in the Bible. The word Hell is actually Norse pagan Hel and has nothing to do with Christianity. So that myth is easy to refute, I agree, but Messiah never taught that myth. Peace to you fellow human.

Their devotion and sincerity to their cause, devotion to family, the idea of being sealed to the one you loved most and being with them for all of eternity, it all sounds so great. I was to the point where I was arguing with my pastor, asking him how did he know that Joseph Smith and his teachings were wrong. I knew a lot of texts from the Bible, but I didn't KNOW the Bible or God at that point. The Bible tells us to always be ready to give an answer as to the hope that we have, and to do that we have to know our Bible and have the Holy Spirit leading us. These videos really inspire me to get deeper into the Word. That is the only way we won't be swayed by false teaching.

It’s exactly what he despises. You need to put aside what you’ve been taught by man, and find God on your own. Test everything, so that you can find truth. If you limit your truth to what your “church” defines, you will never truly know God. It’s called false religions. False teachings.

@Gabrielle Shull Just because people are in different churches doesn't mean God won't manifest more truth through the power of the Holy Ghost to anyone who looks and asks. The problem (problem might be the wrong word) is because other Christians believe their doctrine contains everything they don't look or ask for truth because they think there's no more to find. God will judge everyone accordingly including for the desires of our hearts, if it's someone's desire to know the truth about God and follow the example the best they can God will reward them for their good works and desires.

I was born into the LDS church and much of my family are still members. When I was around 9 years old my family and I moved to a new area and we stopped going to church. Inevitably it pulled me away from the LDS church as well as God in general. Around a year ago I found Christ after I prayed for my health, mentally and physically, to be restored. My prayers were answered; my addiction to drugs and alcohol was freed, my anxiety was freed, and my depression was freed. I know in my heart that Jesus Christ is my lord and savior. After being born again I knew from the start that I would reject the ideas from the LDS church. I wasn't even very familiar with the exact differences between the truth and what the LDS church teaches. I started watching these videos of your encounters with Mormons, and I know what you preach to be true. I had started pondering on the idea that the Bible should be taken literally and should not be open to interpretation because that is the very reason there is division with the Churches. The truth is found in scripture, and applaud you for reaching out to Mormons to help the truth spread. False prophets, like Joseph Smith, are the reason that atheists deny religion and why division within the true Church exists. Last night after watching some videos between you and Mormons I had a dream. When I woke up the events in the dream had sort of faded, but what I do remember was a man standing on a mountain as fire was raining down to Earth. I knew this man to be Jesus Christ. Without asking for confirmation, I still received it. God bless you, Pastor.

Robert Rosskopf - You Said - "Read your bible. "And they became as God, knowing good and evil..." Satan wasn't lying about that." So, you believe Adam & Eve became "Gods" then? First of all how much more condescending and arrogant can you be brother? "read your bible"!?? Wow. And how ironic it is where you suggest I don't read, or know my Bible, when it turns out YOU need to read YOUR Bible, and it wouldn't hurt to re read my posts again also!! So, they not only did NOT become "gods" they were warned by Jesus in person that if they disobeyed the Lord's warning they would lose their immortality and die, and they would be ejected from the paradise garden God - Jesus Christ created for them!! Read my post again brother - "Their false church makes the same "promise" to them that satan promised Adam and Eve, that (they would be as God). That should be a red flag to these people. " They did NOT become "gods" they DID comprehend they had done something incredibly wicked and dangerous! For the first time they knew the difference between good and evil. I could go down such a deep rabbit hole here, revealing what the actual original "sin" was that Adam, Eve and satan got up to but it would take a LOT of time and space! Still, if anyone wants to know, let me know and I'll be very happy to reveal what it was that was so wicked it got Adam & Eve booted out of the garden, and they also were stripped of their immortality and they did eventually die, just as God told them! Take care brother Jack - Canada Manly ~'()'~

@@bronzesnake7004 I like your avatar. It's too bad that the bronze snake was ultimately melted down. Perhaps both of us are condescending. You said "Their false church makes the same 'promise' to them that satan promised Adam and Eve". The Lord also makes the same promise in Revelation 3:21. I discovered for myself that the LDS church is not a "false church". The Lord is the head of our church, and we have the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Ancient Christian doctrines, long forgotten, were restored through divine revelation through modern prophets. This is one of them - that men can become like God. This idea offended the Romans, but it is nonetheless a core doctrine of Christianity. God became man, so that we could become like God. It was Jesus who condescended, giving up his title to come to earth and be born as a helpless baby. He showed us the way to be perfect, like our father in heaven is perfect.

@@robertrosskopf4641 heresy! Christ never gave up any title. Pretty much everything you said is bologna. God manifested in the flesh (Jesus) yet was still 100% God. You seriously lack history as well as theology. The Romans didn't have any issue with becoming a god. Just like Mormonism, they believed in many gods and even some rulers, such as Augustus, claimed to be god. There are no lost doctrines, but as my pastor said, Mormonism is gnostic. So if these gnostic writings are your lost doctrines, then it's no wonder why you are lost.

The very fact that you don't know the real nature of God and prefer to be deceived proves that you cannot be perfect as lying isn't a characteristic of God. By the way, Adam knew what he was doing. Eve was deceived. Satan twisted the truth and she let her feelings convince her of that lie. Funny how Adam and Eve's eyes were open to their transgression, but Robert's eyes are not.

Angel=messenger Heaven=God So, even if a messenger from God So, even if it means Moroni, he *was* an angel from heaven, or a messenger from God. And God doesn't send angels with messages that are not from Him. _Preach any other gospel unto you_ ...If you read the second chapter of Galatians, you will see what the "other gospel" Paul was referring to and it has nothing to do with Moroni or the Book of Mormon, etc. And what is "Gospel"? It is the good news of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Cor. 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Context.

As an Ex-mormon, and now Born again believer in the lord Jesus Christ, there's some things I'd like to address in this video. Jeff, the point you make about Mormons worshiping another Jesus that can't save is spot on. The problem here is that Mormons don't worry about "Salvation" the same way we do as Christians. They believe that the atonement of "lucifer's brother" saves everyone, even those who don't believe in Jesus at all. So according to mormons, even muslims are "saved". So Mormons already believe they're saved automatically. Mormons' goal is to reach the highest degree of heaven (celestial kingdom) by their obedience to mormon laws and ordinances. It's important to make them understand our sin nature and HOW we are made right with god (ephesians 2:8-9). Mormons don't believe in hell either, and obviously they don't trust the bible. Mormons don't understand how fallen we are from God, and how serious our sin separates us from God. They have a very self-centered , self-righteousness approach to salvation. It's important to debunk that ideology (Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23). They need to realize they are not right with GOd, that they are still in their sins and on their way to hell.
@ApologiaStudios
@ApologiaStudios 8 жыл бұрын
+Anthony Rock Thanks, Anthony. Perhaps you missed the parts of the video where she was told she was going to die in her sins and that salvation was through faith apart from works of Law (Romans 3:28)? Blessings to you.
@anthonyrock6331
@anthonyrock6331 8 жыл бұрын
+Apologia Studios I didn't miss anything, I know He mentioned it. The problem here is that even their "Jesus" doesn't play a big role in their religion. His part in "heavenly father's" plan for mankind was just to atone for sins in the garden of gethsemane (yes they believe that), and that's about it. His part is done, now everyone is automatically saved, regardless of beliefs (according to mormonism). Mormons aren't trying to make themselves right with God, they already believe they are automatically right with God because of the atonement of their false Jesus. What they're trying to do is work to godhood and gain more blessings in heaven by obeying mormon laws and ordinances. They call that "eternal progression". Everyone starts "saved" in mormonism and they're just trying to progress to a higher level. So it's great to let them know they have a false Christ, but they don't even care much about their own Christ, let alone the biblical Jesus. They have a lot of unlearning to do as mormons. They believe that we are all spirit babies of heavenly father, including Jesus and Lucifer. So the idea that Jesus and Satan are brothers makes sense to them. They'll just say,"well yeah, satan is everybody's brother because we're all children of God". We as biblical Christians know that obviously isn't the case. (,Colossians 1:16, John 1:12 - "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to BECOME children of God"). I'd also like to add that, even Mormon doctrine contradicts the book of mormon. So 2Nephi 25:23 is not really taught in Mormonism. Never is a Mormon taught that they have to obey mormon laws and ordinances for salvation. They're not trying to be saved, they're not worried about that. It's exaltation (becoming a god) that's their main goal, not salvation. Even though the reality is their false religion is only keeping them on the path to hell. They need to know they're still in their sins, that Jesus' atonement doesn't make everybody automatically saved regardless of one's beliefs, They need to know like everyone without Christ that they have a judgment against them and only faith alone in the biblical Jesus can erase that judgment ( , hebrews 9:27, Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9). Jeff Durbin has already pointed this out, but they use christian terminology but they don't mean the same thing. When Mormon missionaries knock on your door, they're not telling you how to be "saved". They don't even believe in hell. They're just indoctrinating people into a religion based on self-improvement and "Eternal progression". That's why somewhere in the video the girl interrupts Jeff and says,"do you not know the difference between salvation and exaltation?". It's a tough conversation to have with Mormons. But don't give up, Mormons do come to be saved and to know the true and living Jesus. I am living proof of that. So are my friends from Adam's road ministry. I was approached by street preachers who approached me on the street and showed me the true gospel for the first time in my life.

+Anthony Rock I would like to point out a few flaws in your statement "Mormons don't worry about their salvation like Christians do" this a blunt lie. " Deliverance from sin and death. Salvation is made possible by the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, everyone will overcome the effects of death. We can also be saved from the effects of sin through faith in Jesus Christ. This faith is manifested in a life of repentance and obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel and service to Christ." Lds Org
@toddstadel3441
@toddstadel3441 8 жыл бұрын
+Anthony Rock Another Comment that is misleading "So Mormons already believe they're saved automatically" this is more a Christian stance. this comes right from the Bible "And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works." believe or Not.
@anthonyrock6331
@anthonyrock6331 8 жыл бұрын
+Todd Stadel My point exactly. That "atonement" ,the single role of satan's brother is now done, now it's all about you and your progression towards Godhood. Jesus is only "one part" of heavenly father's plan for us in mormonism. Now it's all about you and your eternal progression. It's about your obedience to Mormon ordinances. I've been there, done that. Jesus' atonement in mormonism is nothing but a first step into the journey of eternal progression. All of what you stated is believed in Mormonism, but that's only one part of it. That part about salvation is done, now it's about exaltation and becoming a God. It's like a step by step instruction manual on how to become an all mighty God. Step 1: The atonement of Satan's brother (automatically saves everyone, even atheists) Step 2: Obey Mormon laws and ordinances step 3: endure to the end Step 4: Congratulations, you are now a God!". Mormons believe in salvation, but their focus is self-improvement and Exaltation. Step 1 (salvation) is done, now it's time for exaltation.

I care about you as a person. I want you to come to the truth and so does God. If you're trusting in the Jesus of Joseph Smiths imagination, then you're trusting in the wrong Jesus. I know Mormons read the Bible. I gave that answer to underline the conflicting theologies that both books display. But maybe that's the difference ebtween us, I believe that what keeps nearer Jesus is my faith and His grace not the church.

Wow! You didn't overreact at all. Can't you see the dichotomy? Where you are telling me that I am telling your church is fake while you are basically saying the same about me. You didn't get the point that you are still putting your faith on Church not on Him.

Actually, more members are being lost by the day. She is just clueless on numbers and facts. Again, I used to be LDS and as soon as I started doing my own research that's when the real problems began. God bless Jeff.

I don't think that "more members are being lost by the day" is accurate. It seems to me, listening to all these former members of teh church, that most of them, if not all, never really paid attention during Sunday School, or General Conference, or whatever. They never read the scriptures. D&C 121:37 That they may be conferred upon us, it is true; but when we undertake to cover our sins, or to gratify our pride, our vain ambition, or to exercise control or dominion or compulsion upon the souls of the children of men, in any degree of unrighteousness, (I might add, never really learned what the church believes), behold, the heavens withdraw themselves; the Spirit of the Lord is grieved; and when it is withdrawn, Amen to the priesthood or the authority of that man. 38 Behold, ere he is aware, he is left unto himself, to kick against the pricks, to persecute the saints, and to fight against God.

@@chrisholt4804 I said, I want chapter and verse from the Book of Mormon that contradicts the Bible. As to "become a god". What DOES the Bible say? This is from the Topical guide in our scriptures, subject "Man, potential to become like Heavenly Father". There is no subheading of "man, becoming a god". Now, tell me how these verses do NOT say that we can become as God is. Leviticus 19:2 Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the Lord your God am holy. 1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Acts 17:29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device. Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. Galatians 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. Revelation 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

I’m so amazed at his ability to remain patient and grounded. I’m over screaming (softly) lol at the hypocrisy and terrible arguments (or lack thereof) and how it’s so obvious that she/they have a personal egoic need or reason to hold on to their position but then HAVEN’T challenged their position to fortify it. The faces they make. The attitude. The ignorance. WHEWWWWW.
