These college kids being able to justify anything and everything is the result of their parents failing at parenting. Many of these kids were brought up in front of the tv, video game consoles, phone screens, completely neglected. The parents failed to feed their minds with the morals and fear of God, either because they put their jobs, alcohol, drugs, wealth, sex, over their kids. Many of these parents are the people that thought it was cool to be a christian, because that's what churches pushed, so they claimed to be christians but never actually were. It all boils down to churches miserably failing to create true converts. They watered down the word of God, in order to attract people to church. I legally immigrated to America in the early 90s, and I too fell for this false conversion. I wore the wwjd bracelets, and sang these feel good christian songs, attended christian music concerts, went down to the altar several times because it was the cool thing to do, helped missionaries because people would say you're a good person for doing that. Was never taught deep biblical truths. It was always just surface stuff. Church was always a routine. Get to church at 9 or 10 a.m., stay 1 hour or an hour an a half, after which stay two more hours to eat and socialize. Then on Monday through Saturday it was sin week. Why not? On Sunday I could go repent of my sins. That was the picture being put in people's minds. Once saved always saved, so it was ok to sin, as long as on Sunday we repented, we were still saved. In as many protestant churches as I have been, I never heard repentance being explained deeply. I have never heard why God, had to step into our realm, in order to give His life for us. It was always, God did it because He loved us. No one taught on why He loved us so much. The church as a whole, is at fault for the results we have today. It created too many church goers, but not enough believers. The church fell into the trap of not offending people, so it stopped preaching and teaching the biblical truths. Seeing pastor Jeff teaching biblical truths, and going deep into them is refreshing and I'm loving it. Having kids of my own, I am trying my hardest to explain the word of God to them, even though they are very small. If the church is to revive, it will be through the grace of God first, and second through these kids I raise, and others whose parents are also trying. All of us that have small children now, should be teaching their kids in great detail the word of God, in order to keep the light going in this dark world, that only gets darker as the days go by.
